Okay.. This is really embarrassing, being a former conservative shitposter and all. I've started to notice a trend here. What's with calling them by the wrong pronouns? When will you realize your jokes just aren't funny? I remember seeing the attack helicopter meme on the news as a thirteen year-old little boy. That is, back when it was funny. That is old.
Nowadays, you folks think it'll be funny and cool to go against treating people with common decency because you receive opposition and that makes you feel like you're on the right side. Process this for a moment- even my national socialist friends treat them with a decent amount of respect. I'm not blaming it on any ideology because we're all pretty neat. So in the spirit of edgy thirteen year-old jokes- IT'S TIME.. TO STOP!
Feed me more SALT
19 답변I don't think thinking you're the gender that you were not born as is grounds for actually BEING the gender you think you are. That said, I'm open to being wrong and therefore am open to a debate.

The attack helicopter thing is satire. Calling someone by the ""wrong"" pronoun is contempt, but not direct hatred of the group. The only time it's actually transphobia in my opinion is the shit you get on facebook, where people claim trans people deserve to die, or that they're "freaks" and worse pejoratives.

작성자: Wasted Ellipsis 11/13/2017 11:36:56 AMThe whole attack chopper thing was a joke, but it inadvertently proved a point, if identity is a personal experience, and we accept that someone can identify with another sex, then we should accept that a person can identify as an attack chopper... Now before anyone gets triggered, I didn't believe all that until all the recent discussions popped up, and in reading replies and having a few decent conversations, I arrived at my current opinion... Who am/are I/we to tell anyone what their identity is, or should be, just because I/we don't perceive it to be normal... Just don't come to my house and start shooting missiles, and I'm fine with you identifying as an attack chopper...

Actually, I use the attack helicopter thing because I think it would be cool to be an attack helicopter. On another note, I do not bother to keep what is what for people. You look like a dude & want me to call you a dude, then say so. You look like a chic & want me to call you one, then say so. You want to look like a chic & have a beard, you are just need to wear a damn nametag. I do not give 2 shits as to what a person wants to be, it is none of my business. As long as you are not hurting others or atleast keeping your chosen path to consenting adults, that is all I give a shit about. People just need to mind their own damn business & let other folks live a life of happiness & love.

작성자: Coastal Elite 11/13/2017 11:25:09 PMA lot of the transphobic sentiments I've seen - if not the literal words themselves - expressed about trans people are things that I and pretty much everyone I knew would have said about gay people, some 10+ years ago. Obviously I'm embarrassed about my lack of understanding at the time, and the situation isn't exactly the same. Just wanted to add some more evidence to the whole "history doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme" thing. Though I am kicking myself for not buying stock in the "phobia doesn't mean fear" meme back when homophobia was the hot new not-a-phobia. At least I invested in "but biology" when it was first discovered that gay people were denying evolution. For anyone who hasn't yet gotten in on "they just want attention", I know it's trading high, but it's not too late to buy.

12 답변As a bio major and psych minor, soon to be going for an MS, it surprises me how much people on this forum use (incorrectly) my major to justify being a douchebag towards the trans community. Come on, even though I know through genetics that the person is male through sex, I know for sure that gender isn't 100% biological; it's a mix of nature and nurture. If someone who is biologically male, but identifies their gender as female, I'm not going to go out of my way, be a complete jackass and tool to that person, just to get my kicks. I have learned through the years that it's common courtesy to not be an asshole to everyone around you just to get pleasure from it. For people who are using the information from my major and minor as a way to justify you being a nuisance to others, stop it. Use that thing in between your head that your parents gave you, and don't be a dick to other people.

26 답변The Trans community actually laughs at how stale the meme game of people still using that meme is. In all seriousness, it isn't funny, it was never funny -- and now that it's spammed at every mention of Trans people it's just insufferable. Trans people are held in such an uniformed light it saddens me, being ignorant isn't a crime, but these people refuse to learn. Transgender people struggle accepting themselves, the last thing they need is uninformed bigotry, as a Trans person myself, being misgendered isn't offense because of the level of disrespect -- but because you already constantly put yourself down as "pretending" or "delusional", an existence at odds with what society conceives as normal isn't easy -- no one does this for attention.

I have absolutely no fear of them. No phobia. That’s why I’m not going to bend over backwards to cater to their fantasy. I will grant them the same amount of respect as any other human being. But if they try to impose their perception on me, I will not abide and they will lose every bit of all but basic human respect.
