"Ghaul is gone, but the hunt for tenebra [?] has just begun."
So I finally got down to listening to the sound files from the PC version of D2. Safe to say that I was VERY confused once I got halfway through.
I should bring up that everything I say from here on out should be taken with a grain of salt since Bungie has thrown people off before.
The quote is spoken by FWC leader Lakshmi-2.
The first half was about Ghaul. Makes sense, he was the main antagonist and he did cause the Traveler to wake up by trying to drain its energy. As we know that Light burst doubled as a signal to the Traveler's enemy... the "Darkness".
The second half is the most... intriguing.
Hunt?
A word is said which really has me thinking.
Allow me to copy and paste this:

So...
Either this is a name for the fifth race or just a really fancy way of saying Darkness... yet in an earlier sound clip Lakshmi straight out says Darkness.
"I've long predicted Darkness worship, I did not expect the House of Dusk."
So now we have 3 concept artwork for the Darkness, an end-credits scene, and now a possible audio file.
What's interesting to me is how Rasputin calls the Darkness the Queen of Final Shapes, and tenebra is feminine. I just thought I had to make some kind of connection.

10 답변WOAH WOAH WHAT WAIT A SECOND. Rasputin calles the Darkness "The Queen of Final SHAPES"?! Where is this! When does he say this! Am i the only one who understands the significance? "Shapes" are the main principle of the Sword Logic. The final shape, as stated in the Books of Sorrow, is Death. Death itself. Oh and for those of you who dont know, the Sword Logic is the Hive's philosophy that in order to surpass yourself, you must take from another. Nothing is ever gained by giving, so they must constantly take to survive. They have to constantly conquer to survive. Now, how in the HELL does Rasputin know the sword logic?!

3 답변What you said about Resputin talking about the final shapes, if that’s true, he’s probably talking about those triangle spaceships we keep ending up at. We would always get so far in this destiny 2 lore, yet it always ends with these same triangles.

1 답변Very interesting, and this has me thinking of the war cult in general. Lakshmi says that they have seen many things in other simulations, some things we’ve never seen before and thus don’t even have names. Could this mean the war cult is somewhat versed on what these triangles could be before their existence is known to our in game characters?

6 답변If we assume that tenabra is the darkness, it wouldn’t be too radical to tho think that the WAR CULT wants to hunt them. Whether the tower knows about the triangle ships (highly doubt it), it’s still reasonable for them to know that the darkness isn’t just gone because we can’t see it. I’m sure it’s just some degree of post red war euphoria and sort of nationalism (think age of triumph) happiness and confidence in the traveler now that we are victorious again and the traveler is awakened. More faith in the light makes people want to end the darkness.

2 답변Tenebra is the Latin word for darkness. Also, I believe there was a mission on Mars called the tenebrious tunnels.
