Bungie don't like hunters

I've played destiny 1 for over 120 days as a hunter main, and invested more than enough time into warlocks and titans. I've gone through the whole game and experienced all the hunter has to offer. By The Taken King I started to notice something was off with the hunter compared to the other classes, but I never felt bored of it. By Rise Of Iron I didn't really like the armour sets (but that's my opinion), and tether was the only useful super for them. When I first played arcstrider in the beta I wasn't really surprised at the huge similarities to blade dancer. I was very disappointed when I first heard the new hunter super wasn't new at all, and all the other classes got new, unique, original supers. When Destiny 2 came out I immediately picked hunter and started to try for tether. When I got it I enjoyed the endless tether and thought it Bungie had actually done a good job with it. Until I played crucible. Tether wasn't that great in crucible in the first game so I didn't see the sense in nerfing it, and they nerfed it hard. First off, one of the biggest problems with tether in the first game was that the tether effect didn't kick in instantly after getting a direct hit on anything, for some reason they decided to increase the time for that basically making you die to the super straight after you activate it. My second problem with it is that it doesn't even one shot regular people not in their super, which is pretty terrible considering it takes a while to activate the super in the first place. So tether is basically unusable in crucible. But it is supposed to be a PVE super, so you'd think it's better in PVE? No, it's still awful. Recently I figured out tether doesn't even give anyone else any extra damage, only you, which doesn't make sense because half the time of the super being active you're activating it. The time you actually get to damage is minimal. The only reason I use tether is for the invisible melee ability, which is great at getting you out of sticky situations. finally, is the class ability, shadestep, which is exactly the same story as the supers in the game. It's boring and reused. People who didn't play the first game might find this exciting and new, but old players don't. When I found out what the Titan and Warlock's class abilities were I was really excited to see what they'd lined up for the hunter, then they revealed it was a ability that was already in Destiny 1. It really seemed like they couldn't be bothered with the hunter at all, it feels exactly the same as the first game. I've played a long time on Warlock because I've got so bored of playing the same class for 3 years now, and I'm not prepared to play another 3 years of the same thing. The Warlock feels noticeably different from the first game, I just wish they could've put the same effort in to a class I spent years grinding on holding on hope that they might actually revive the hunter, and make it equal to the other classes, hunter lives matter.

  • Hunters should've at least been able to keep the move that allows them to crouch and go invisible...idk why they removed that trait.

  • Definitely agree, been a Hunter since D1 closed beta and always felt that bungie didn't care about Hunter's. Like they made all the others classes first and just rushes through the Hunter last. Or maybe they want Hunter to be the most human class... They are pretty much the only class without super powers besides their supers (Not necessarily a bad thing). I couldn't help but notice that when they were doing their promo they weren't really showing much Hunter gameplay, and it seemed like it was because they knew they put a lot of time and effort in creating the new Titan and Warlock subclasses and class abilities, but they hadn't made anything new or spectactular for the Hunter's... Arcstrider is pretty much and upgraded bladedancer and our class ability is a downgraded Shadestep.... Honestly, if Hunter's weren't the COOLEST LOOKING CLASS, I don't think anyone would play with them.

    • I agree and the hit detection on it is shit. Be aiming directly at a person nope it somehow hit the pebble next to their feet.
