I understand this is likely a wall put in place to limit our light level progress to make us play longer, but what it will also do is make people like myself choose between playing higher level activities with weapons they don't like or aren't good with vs. Not doing those activities since the weapons we do like aren't dropping at higher levels.
It seems like a petty complaint, but it really kills my enjoyment of the game. Dont get me wrong, Destiny 2 is great and so far this hasn't been a huge issue for me yet because I've gotten mostly lucky. But if I don't get higher level auto rifles to infuse my Hardlight/ Scathelock, I may be forced into using guns I don't find fun to use just to get into the raid. It feels like poor design to me.
Again, I love Destiny 2, and it is much better than Destiny 1, but this artificial wall seems really crappy to me.
Edit: Wow this blew up. Just a side note: I do not mind the light grind, in fact, I enjoy it! What I DO mind is being forced into using weapon archetypes that I do not enjoy using just to raise my light level. In Destiny 1, you could transfuse like weapon categories into each other regardless of type (primary, special, heavy). I would love for that to come back. Yes, I know you can infuse energy and kinetic into each other if they are the same weapon type, that's not the issue. My issue is I can't transfuse my 279 Graviton Lance (or as I call it, the Hot Garbage) into my 271 Hardlight. To reach my highest possible light level, I am forced to use weapons I hate. THAT, to me, is poor design.

Absolutely agree with you. I've been at 305 for over 3 weeks and since my only way of getting 300 or near gear is milestones/nightfall/raid and then wait till the next week it's a terrible system. I haven't gotten a SINGLE auto rifle in almost a month except for 295 blues. This is ridiculous, if there was a way to grind out more 300 gear I would be all for it but the way it is you get max 8 engram and a couple raid and nightfall drops to get anything decent a WEEK and if all I get it pulse, sub machine and sidearm drops in those, I'm out of luck to try again next week, wtf. At this rate it's not a matter of time played, it's a matter of luck. Now I could get an exotic engram drop Sweet Business or Hard Light at 305 but with the exotic engram system broken and only giving multiples I have little to no chance of those dropping and allowing me to infuse either. Maybe even let us infuse like weapons, like pulse, auto and maybe scout together, and sidearm, hand cannon together, shotgun and fusion and rocket and grenade together. Sniper i don't know, maybe scout but that don't make since but you get what I mean. I love the game but I'm tired of having every auto rifle stuck at 300 WITH A MOD and EVERYTHING ELSE at 305 for OVER 3 WEEKS, it's maddening. And the way it is I could NEVER get a high level auto rifle no matter how much I play and that to me is a flaw, not a consequence of me not spending enough time cause I play ALOT.

3 답변Everything drops fully leveled up and your moaning you can't infuse a grenade laucher into your sword.

1 답변I think we all knew our options were going to be more limited when compared to Destiny 1. It's not just the weapon infusion, it's also abilities, it's classes, it's game mode choice, it's pretty much what the game is built around. People who didn't mind got the game, and they're happy with their purchase, and aren't worried. I think It's these people the game is going for, and will continue to cater to further on. Some want a simplified game they can just pick up and play, not having to worry about anything else, and this game suits that criteria perfectly. I think anyone who wants anything deeper will simply have to move on. The Destiny we played was still on the fence on which way it wanted to go, and I think we got our answer with D2.
-
Yes I am with you there. I still don't know why they would change what they had before. I thought it was completely fine and I liked how it was. I don't think the infusion system that they had before was a major problem or anything that they needed to change it. I hope they put it back to what it once was.
-
I'm in the same boat. Stuck with a weapon I hate that leaves me with 2 choices. Drop in light or play in a style that isn't fun for me. It would be a simple fix. I don't see why this should be an issue for Bungie or other players.

I agree. I think they need to make Infusion back to what it was at the end of D1. Any Primary will Infuse into any other Primary. Any Energy weapon will Infuse into any other Energy weapon. Any Power weapon will Infuse into any other Power weapon. And all on a 1-1 aspect ratio. The current Infusion system in D2 is far too limiting.

I understand the point of making the game seem longer. And the point of having the grind be more difficult, but this system is hell for casual gamers. I hate to be that guy, but some (if not, most) of us work, go to school, have greater and more time-consuming responsibilities outside of gaming. It's bad enough that the engram drop rate in Strikes has lowered significantly from D1, but now I have to get a specific weapon in order to infuse? At this rate I won't be raid ready until D3 is released. I think they should have just limited us to just the weapon type; Energy with Energy, Power with Power, Kinetic with Kinetic. I'm not trying to be out here with 2 sidearms and a sword.
-
I agree. This sucks. Im not a hand cannon fan at all and i have 2 that are my highest light level and i cant infuse with a scout rifle. Bring back the old way. If people put the time in to upgrade light level so be it. Dont force me to dismantle or use a weapon i dont want to. Im already playing on generator power down here in South FL - Let me use my scout rifle at the higest possible light dammit

1 답변I am stuck with dual sidearms, it is beyond frustrating... I had to give in and use lower level light gear and I payed the price with getting lower level drops from the nightfall, than I would have.

1 답변작성자: Lord Fried 9/13/2017 1:24:24 PMI'm ok with it for the most part. Little annoyances here and there but I'm more than raid ready at this point, even if I switch my loadout around. Also, why is your Graviton Lance 279...and even worse, why are you trying to infuse Hard Light? For someone that's having issues with leveling up, why do you have two awful weapons leveled up?

85 답변Didn't read because the title is already wrong. I'll just say this, if you don't like the new infusion system then by all means go back to spending 250 motes of light to unlock an exotic weapons perks. Exactly, quit ya b!tchin.

The least thing I can think of is slot based. Kinetic to kinetic, energy to energy, heavy to heavy. That way it still has a grind, but we can still choose our optimal loadout.
Being stuck with 2 sidearms and a sniper as a best loadout is in no way raid ready...
2 답변This. A problem I also have is that thanks to rng the drops I get are not balanced in the weapons department. I am overflowing with power weapons but primaries I rarely get. When I do get them it's most of the time autos. I'm a scout user and my highest is 245 which does me no good sitting at 269 :/

1 답변I love the way it's done. I want a grind not a handout. The last system was so fricking casual the game really didn't have a loot grind. Heck I reached max light in one day after infusion was released. D2 at least keeps players grinding for higher gear and makes things more strategical.
