The game is beautiful, smooth and polished. The music is everything. But there are too many let downs out the gate.
1. The story remains as superficial as ever. Not once do you ever believe any character is going to die, nor are you tasked with protecting anyone (ahem, vanguard) from dying throughout a drastic period of no light.
The Last City? Who cares? No one does. We only care about the Tower... mainly our weapons and gear. Everything else? Meh. We never walked through the Last City, never met the citizens we so violently defended... ever. The seriousness of every situation stays overly simple, thin and forgettable. You never feel in danger or responsible for lives, nor are you penalized for any actions because there are no consequences.
How is it your voiceless character (ugh) finds light so quickly and no one else in the galaxy found/finds it?! It conveniently depletes after your third subclass unlocks. Couldn't you share it with Ikora, Cayde or Zavala? I mean your ghost tells them about it too, but... they don't try and restore themselves with the same piece of shard? It's insulting.
2. Sub classes. No custom builds? I'm limited to two unchangeable groups? Subsequently, I cannot believe there aren't custom loadout profiles available through a quick in-game menu. I'll let emotes have one permanent parked button on the directional pad... but the other three should allow players to at least change classes on the fly. Everyone is still stuck running and hiding like a B@#&* just to make the smallest changes to our character during gameplay. Popular FPS have had this feature for over a decade.
3. There was HUGE miss with adding the ability to building the farm, section by section, as part of the story. This would have justified a lot of grind while lengthening the story. But no, you arrive at some farm that appears out of nowhere, which happens to have a full cast of conveniently placed characters with everything you need. How the red legion doesn't know where this farm is, is a joke. You fight them on the way there... hello?
4. No shooting range? I thought this was a hot topic by players. You can't try/test/practice weapons at the farm with makeshift targets? No try before you buy? Instead, we get a soccer field with the gaming industries worst physics for an over-sized soccer ball. A target practice mini-game or shooting challenges with Devrim Kay in the EDZ was a no-brainer. C'mon Bungie.
5. Although addictive, gameplay is entirely too repetitive. Run here shoot. Run there shoot. Release ghost, shoot. During one of the adventures on Nessus, you're tasked with a "prison break" objective where you kill Vex to release imprisoned Fallen... only to kill them too. I cannot describe how retarded that was. Apparently, the Fallen were fully equipped too, and attacked you as soon as you released them. Another huge missed opportunity for the narrative to implement an epic truce or dialogue with the Fallen on Nessus. Perhaps to team up against the Red Legion/Vex. But no. Just shoot everything and anyone. I get it, the game is a shooter.
6. The Taken. Couldn't think of another race?! How lazy could you be? I'm fine with some of the recycled level designs in Destiny 2 clearly taken from the first game but c'mon, the taken? How are we to believe this expansive world/galaxy only has 5 races that exist everywhere we happen to land? Oryx, the taken king, is dead. He "possessed" and transformed victims to do his bidding. In Destiny 1, whenever we killed the taken "leader" at any point, the rest of the taken instantly vanish. So either everything that has been taken, dies, or they're restored to their former selves. Where the hell is Eris Morn to explain all this anyway?
7. Grinding for shaders? I love the ability for customized everything, but shaders were supposed to be rewards for accomplishing milestones in the game. A way of showing everyone what you achieved. Now it's completely embedded in the grind. Worst part? You can't keep them. You lose them when you want to change something and it costs every time.
8. Variable gameplay. Different planets, moons, etc. Where's the dynamic weather conditions? High winds, heavy rain, dust storms, heavy fog etc? What about changes in gravitational pull? Every single place, no matter how different, plays/feels the same. Requiring zero tact or diversity in the game. The environment should be a threat to gamers as well. Let alone, wildlife. Which the game doesn't contain either. So much for hunting, surviving or protecting people out in the wild as part of patrol or live events. It was silly knowing we jumped and landed on the moon the same way we did on Earth and Mars in Destiny 1.
9. The dumbest smartest ghost. Why is it my character has zero personality while my ghost retains a human one? For that matter, everyone in the game has a personality except for you. How is it that my ghost (a miniature god) can resurrect me, have incredible speed, knowledge and ability, but turn around to ask the dumbest questions or lack information on the simplest things? Talk about inconsistencies. In Destiny 1 the ghost told me about the cabal blowing up planets for getting in their way, but then questions whether or not they have something that can destroy a planet in Destiny 2?!
10. Everything gets blown up at the tower, but for some reason, I have access to a ship and guns nearly from the start, but no sparrow access until level 20? It wasn't even brought up in the story whatsoever. WTF was that? I spent 20 levels running everywhere exhaustively not knowing why. And where the @#$& is Amanda Holiday anyway?
11. WTF happen to the factions at the tower during the entire attack? Did they die? Where did they go? I thought those factions had agendas and militia outside of the vanguard. New Orbit should've been part of discovering new territory. Future War Cult should've been very effective against the red legion, New Monarchy should've been part of rescuing people from the Last City etc. I'm sure they'll pop up out of nowhere all well and good from their vacation soon enough with more tasks to shoot things.
12. Couldn't have guardians simply gone to the Reef or Felwinters peak after the attack?!? At least to regroup and reclaim weapons and armor? Talk about a major story hole. Why are we stuck in some farm when I could've just seen Varicks, Petra or Lord Saladin? They have vaults and kiosks with all my D1 stuff!
13. One of the hottest topics was the ability to change how our guardians looked. What happened? I didn't even get an option to keep my aesthetic or create a new one. We're all still stuck with what we created years ago with no options. Furthermore, designing new characters hasn't improved. It's literally the identical copy and paste features from 4 years ago. Such a lazy move.
14. Destiny 1 ended with a lot of features, such as, strike scoring, medals, extensive crucible playlists and private matches etc. Uhhh... what happened? I'm sure it'll trickle in again. It should've been there from the start. We can't even replay specific missions anymore anytime as we did in Destiny 1. Sparrow Racing? Queens Wrath? there was SO much to this game that's completely void now. I want my weapons and mod stats!
15. Infusion System. It's clear Bungie thought hard about micro-managing how we progress in every detailed aspect to enhance grinding to whole new level. Statistically, this artificially inflates re-playability. We have to clock substantially more time in building our character builds. But this is to the detriment of the fun factor. It's frustrating, confusing, unnecessary, time-consuming and a complete turn-off as a player. Stack this with the known lack of ammo issue, and you're left with angry players. Why can't I just infuse my favorite weapon with a higher power leveled one I don't care to ever use? To make you grind more. Of course.
16. Where do guardians live again? I remember for 3 years people wished for living spaces for their guardians at the tower. Spaces where we could buy and decorate (ahem, Tess?) while displaying all our achievements in the game. We could even visit the spaces in our friends list. Whatever, we still have the Destiny app right? What? It's broken and lacks fundamental features? Exciting times.
17. Many of us achieved every year's legend status and completed all record books. Now, I ask, what was your reward?
18. Consistency? They expanded the amount players in the social space, but decrease crucible team size. Raid teams remain at six, but stay at three for patrol. Trials of the nine? Three. Live events, six? They decide the number for us, for every event and give no option.
19. Timed Nightfall? Why couldn't Bungie just added a reward for those who finish it within a certain time frame? Personally, I loved year 1, but Bungie could've had 3 tiers of rewards for NF. One for simply beating it, a bonus if a fireteam never died, and for beating it within a time frame.
Remember that community wish list that Cozmo has maintained for the past few years? Not ONE idea was done for D2. This is a company full of ego and greed masked behind a message proclaiming they have the players best interest at heart. This list I've created, will never be addressed or acknowledged openly.

4 답변작성자: Iccotak 9/18/2017 8:50:20 PMWhat I said recently in a post. About what the game lacks #1: NPC & Interactions With the Player Character now a silent protagonist, this is the perfect moment to introduce NPC conversation and interactions like we have seen in Elder Scrolls and previous Fallout games. Give the player another avenue to learn about the world while also establishing relationships with characters. Make the Ghost a character we can interact with. Who we can ask questions. Who we can develop a connection with. No one cared about the Last City because they never had any opportunity to talk with them. RPGs make sure that their worlds are Full of characters for players to interact with, both large and small, that make it feel alive. #2: Side Quests This goes back to adding more NPCs. Adding a plethora of side quests to the various NPCs gives the players reasons to explore the environments. They can be tiny things like; “Please find my Spouse/Child/Pet”, “Please check out this dungeon”, “Please escort me to a location”, etc. little things that flesh out the world. But also having Long storylines that don't pertain to the main story is very important as well. Side Quests also serve as a great way to flesh out the world. #3: Wildlife Destiny takes place 1000 years in the future. I'm sure with nature taking over, and who knows what was done in the golden age, that there are plenty of fauna for players to see running around. Deer, Elk, Wild Dogs, Birds, maybe a bear, etc. The world is a big place, fill it. Just like NPCs, open world games feel empty without wildlife. #4: character creation I would think that when you take advantage of creating a sequel and implement a better character creation. Simply put we need more options when creating a character. We have very few faces to choose from and we can't customize facial features such as, the nose, ears, mouth, eyes, chin, cheekbones, eyebrows, etc. Also where are the beards? There's a character we meet in destiny 2 who has a beard, but we can’t get one? #5: Lore This is the Big One. Like other Story heavy games, have a lore codex that players can look at in the game. Have it start out with any basic information the player is curious about, then have it update with each new finding, encounter, and as you progress through the story. Also put Books, Journals, Audio files, Drawings, etc. things that players can check out. Fill the ruins of humanity with lore about the Golden Age. Having the option to ask the Ghost questions about the world, would be a great way to introduce and immerse players into the universe. But Make sure that lore can be talked about through NPC interaction. (The Fact that DOOM has a better lore system is troubling, considering story doesn’t matter in that game at all.) This one is more of a nitpick #6: Camera Give the players the option to move between first and third person perspective. Don't make it so they have to use first in combat and third in social. Forcing different camera perspectives takes away immersion and leaves the player with less options. That's my take on what the game is missing and would really have made it one of the next Great Games. I think that Bungie really should have gone all out and overhauled the game when they had a chance.

1 답변For number 19, you should also mention that the strikes are EXTREMELY easy while the nightfall just caters to speed runners. Who and why glorified the idea about this is beyond me. The community itself would prefer a light 300 guardian over anyone within the 240 (recommended nightfall) through a 280. Honestly, this game is utter garbage compared to d1. Only thing that shines bright are the graphics. The community itself is again bringing back the toxic days. I would only kid myself if I keep playing because there's nothing to do to get passed 267, and I refuse to PVP if it's the only way to get "better gear." Save yourself the trouble and get s full refund.

3 답변The Grimoire cards (and in-game dialogue) explain multiple times that the Taken don't die when the Taken King is killed. In fact, there were two strikes concerning it. Merely there is no one to do the taking, so their numbers can no longer be replenished with new taken. Personally, I'm happy to see the Taken again. Yes, they might have added them to Destiny 2 due to laziness, but they are always an interesting enemy to fight.

1 답변100% agree, crucible is also ruined tbh. 4v4? Yeah fine but it's not even 60FPS which is embarrassing, but oh well, hopefully anthem comes out next year.

3 답변작성자: TautSkydiver0 9/13/2017 9:07:36 PMBump. I agree with most of the points you brought up but I think you missed a very important design choice/-blam!-up: making weapons have set perks. This is just stupidity. Why would you remove the most essential part of any looter game, which is getting excited for something because you never know what it will be; or in destiny's case, what perks will it have. Giving weapons set perks only hurts the game because when you eventually get the theoretical "best weapon" in the game, why would you keep playing? I mean, everything you get will only be worse than what you already have so... yea. I also agree with you on the subclass topic. You're supposed to add/improve the game's systems by giving player more or better choices in the sequel. Not take it away and give you only 2 options of a subclass. I just wish they would have added unique new subclasses and abilities with a layer of complexity to it. Not just "yea we at bungie believe youre too stupid to make your own builds so pick one of these two options" Also, am I the only one annoyed that 2.5/3 of the d2 subclasses are basically the same as d1 subclasses??

4 답변Do you not think the 2 primaries system is horrendous? I feel like primaries are literally useless compared to the "energy slot" dumbest thing ever

2 답변Oryx will comeback, that's just lore based, eventually he will. The Taken are still trying to bring everything together. They can still take, plus oryx's sisters are still out there. Factions scattered to their homes to lick their wounds and regain power. They are returning. Other than that, eh you have points

1 답변So I see they made the motion tracker almost uselessly point blank. The range is literally half of what it was in Destiny 1. Anxiously, this was done to "balance out" PvP. However, it does the opposite. Veteran crucible players aren't affected NEARLY as much as the average player. Another fail Bungie.

2 답변Seriously, No Beards when there is a character in the game with a Beard? WTH Also are they just setting stuff up with the Fallen? Why not just do something with them? Why are they wearing Purple? Who is the New Leader? What are their plans? Having a temporary alliance would have been awesome. ALSO What about setting up people who are NEW to the game? We have Vets who understand that they were resurrected but what about new players? Just shove them in with no build up? And what was up with the Getting your powers back almost right after you lose it? I see a main story full of set up.

2 답변Great post also for me movement speed and weapon loadouts. PvP is nothing without our movement it's eeffn generic now destiny 1 was so much better and destiny 1 had so many quality if life improvements which should of moved to d2 but nooooooo we have to wait for them to add them in if they ever do

1 답변작성자: darksidr187 9/11/2017 3:27:01 AMBest post yet thumbs up..Pve is overall headed in the right direction but PvP was hammered into the ground hard what a mess from matchmaking random modes and the removal of being able to thrash a team because ur good now it's a run around a just shoot. Don't know if maps are better, bigger, smaller or worse I played a huge part in PvP d1 and d2 doesn't have that drive to play all the time I hope it grows

1 답변You forgot...... Weapons So stupid......I can carry a scout rifle and a scout rifle and a sniper rifle why on earth would I need three long range options? Put it back SHARED INVENTORY....WHAT!!!??? What's the point of having three classes if they share the same inventory screen? Convenience? I don't want convenience, I want all my guradians stuff to he separate, I don't want them to share, I want them to use up their own wares, so whwn I switch classes my other two still have THEIR STUFF!

1 답변They missed the proverbial boat on a lot of things. But I look at this game as a kids game. I'm not asking them to cater to my wants as an adult gamer in a teen game. However there are a lot of wasted opportunities and the end result is why even play most of the content. I reached 265 without ever playing a strike and only doing a couple lost sectors. After completing the story I spent my time doing public events to unlock my last subclass and in doing so obtained that level. Now, what's the point to running strikes or lost sectors if they don't aid in character progression? There isn't and that's the greatest waste. There could have been selectable difficulties to increase rewards. I mean, the raid drops today and I'm not even sure I want to go thru the aggravation of leveling for the event. It is by far my favorite part of the game but I just don't know if I want to bother at this point. It's only been a week and it's already boring.

1 답변Why the hell don't we have transmogrification yet? Diablo 3 has it, why doesn't Destiny? It was such a highly requested feature too. I mean, if we can't have transmog, why not at the very least allow us to wear multiple pieces of Exotic armour but only gain the exotic perks of one?

1 답변I've spent very little time so far playing this game. The sparrow issue is my biggest gripe at the moment. It infuriates me to the point where I stop playing because I don't feel like running everywhere to something. Keep in mind that I am still at the "what am I supposed to do again" stage so to speak. I am not familiar with the new interface for tracking quests and patrols and I am still spoiled from the end of destiny where I had a ghost that would show me where materials were. Right now, I am basically running around like an idiot until I can finally level up enough to progress again. However, I am pleased the graphics are at least 10% better than the original destiny.

Excellent post. I've played since d1 beta and noticed very early on that Bungie ignores EVERYTHING the community has said and seems to do the EXACT OPPOSITE. D2 is addicting and the gun play is excellent, but man did they F*** this game up in so many ways.

Sub classes.
I'm indifferent on it. Most people didn't change them up anyways, had a PvP loadout and a PvE loadout, or didn't understand what perks paired well (mostly on Bungie since they did a poor job of explaining what some perks do).
3. There was HUGE miss with adding the ability to building the farm,
Nitpicky. You fought 1 Legionarre and some dogs.
Regardless, this is about the list our community managers have maintained for years in another forum. All those ideas were from the gaming community, the players. Yet, Bungie continues to not only have zero dialogue with its own community, but also refuse to share ideas for feedback--let alone--implement ANY idea we all came up with. Don't believe me? Just check out the community wish list that Cozmo has maintained forever. Not ONE idea was done for D2. There's probably footage of Luke Smith laughing at that community list and spitting, somewhere.
Yeah, Bungie seems to have the mindset that if they're going to implement a fairly standard "feature," they're going to do it in the most convoluted and complicated way. Never use the "tried-and-true" methods, it's always the reinvent the wheel or build a better mousetrap approach.
Sorry, having Deej or Cozmo leave a reply and add suggestions and ideas to some list means nothing.
They rarely have anything meaningful to say. Cozmo is always "I'll pass this on..." and Deej is a spin master who explains things without explaining them, almost like it's meant to be confusing. How about a response from someone at Bungie HQ that tells us what they're working on regarding the wishlist or even that they're just not interested in implementing a certain requested feature. All in all though, great feedback. Quality post. Wish there were more like this in terms of quality.
