What to do with some iconic sculptures on the façade of a historic building that is being razed for a new glass tower? Well, you could remove them intact and give them to the museum just blocks up the street. Or you could forget about salvaging architectural remains altogether and just smash them along with the rest of the building. This is exactly what happened in 1980 when presidential candidate Donald Trump, then a 33 year-old real estate developer, appeared in the New York Times as the man responsible for destroying two Art Deco sculptures that had been promised to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Huh, seems he has a history of destroying "beautiful statues".

5 답변Honestly they aren't even beautiful statues, they're pretty boring and aren't even hand-made.

Those are decorations on a building, not statues in memorial to the past. Whereas it's kind of the same-ish, I don't think that's a fair comparison. However, I do think that him demolishing it after it was requested they be taken down, was pretty messed up. Man like that doesn't deserve small hands.

3 답변Now Orange Man is using the idiotic excuse to keep Confederate statues up because they are "beautiful pieces of art." Even though in 1980, to build an all glass Trump tower he destroyed two beautiful statues that were promised to a museum. He destroyed a piece of artistic history. Oh, the irony.
