Or just make it not complete garbage.
It's not that good. Yes it fits the "lone wolf" attitude Hunters are supposed to have, but it's horrible for team play. The dodge ability should just be a "hidden" ability given to all Hunter subclasses, while replacing the global class ability.
(I'm not taking credit for this idea, but I saw it on Reddit and definitely agreed with it)
The class ability should be the "Vanish in Smoke" bomb from the Nightstalker.
It would:
A) Make all players in the radius go invisible while reloading their guns
Or
B) Invisibility lasts longer and won't break when shooting a weapon.
This would still fit the lore and attitude of the Hunter while providing the Hunters with a team based ability.
Please Bungie, Please.
Edit: A lot of people have responded saying, "No. Keep dodge but just make it more powerful.". I'm certainly not opposed to that. I just wanted to make a suggestion that better fit team-play and hunters roles as a "DPS" class.

When used by a whiny kid you get killed over and over again. The game hasn't even come out & ppl are already complaining about fix this and fix that. Ever heard the term if it isn't broke don't fix it? Only things that might need tuning a little are kill time, fusion rifle damage slightly decreased, crucible black screen of death "where you don't load in", & possible maybe a little better movement speed to warlock glide. Overall game plays well. Everything is balanced no complaints. So it seems as usual the people complaining are the ones who aren't good at pvp. Guess what that's no different than any other game. You are either good or you're not. Signed a Year One player that approves of Destiny 2

작성자: Aramintai 7/26/2017 7:37:22 AMTo all people saying Hunter never supported the team in D1 - are you forgetting the Nightstalker class and its Tether and DPS bonus, and shitloads of orbs? Nightstalker was awesome to have in raids. So stop hating on Hunters and people who actually give a shit about this class and want it to be as fun to play as your precious Warlocks and TItans. So yeah, I agree with OP and with all the other posts that cry for Hunter's abilities buffs and/or reiteration. Right now in the beta Hunter sucks - his abilities work worse than the other classes and that nerfed version of Shadestep is a joke. If it's not gonna help the team at least remove that abysmal cooldown from it, Bungie, because it's not that great anyway and very situational.
-
The problem I see is that they can't really effectively buff the ability to actually be useful in PvE without making it ridiculously OP in Crucible. And since Crucible is all Bungie ever really gives a damn about, it's going to stay useless to keep the sweaty PvP try-hards happy. PvE suffered from every PvP complaint throughout all of D1 and unfortunately I don't see D2 changing that formula. In the interest of longer engagements and primary-focused gunplay in Crucible we get spit-wad launchers in PvE that even the lowest-tier AI enemies shrug off.

4 답변There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the Hunter ability. I had no problem using it to dodge enemy attacks or side-stepping other players. Wanting to remain invisible, even when shot at is the dumbest idea I've heard so far.

38 답변The Hunter class ability is perfectly suited to the Hunter class. You get a free reload or a free melee charge depending on how it's used. You want team play options for a class which is not built for it, when there are other classes that are actually built to accommodate team play. This is an example of entitlement.

2 답변But then arc strider won't be so god damn fun in pve I love dodging around punching the crap out of a psion then rinse and repeat

1 답변While the invis ability sounds amazing as a hunter main, it in itself would be pretty op in PvP, especially given class ability cooldowns are much shorter than other abilities, and that + shade step as a hidden ability for the class.. not going to happen. I would be happy if they buffed dodge just so that it breaks tracking, grenades shouldn't be able to track me when I'm in the middle of a dodge, especially gamblers dodge which is shade step. I think the viability of dodge comes down to using it with the other perks in your subclass tree, for instance on arc strider you can keep both your melee and dodge up pretty much indefinitely by using each to refill the other, and I'm sure there will be other ways to compliment it with the lower skill trees in the full game.

1 답변In the other skill tree there is "harder to kill while dodging" that should be static with the ability.

38 답변작성자: nosworc82 7/25/2017 6:51:18 PMSince when have hunters ever cared about team mechanics? All I ever heard from vanilla Destiny was "oh we're the DPS class" Having a free reload keeps inline with that, plus I've read on here you can basically keep your melee up and clear a room using the dodge function. Edit: I also think it's worth noting that nightstalker might be back yet so there's your support class.

Maybe add the blinding effect of the purifier robes when dodging to help make enemies lose sight of you. Every time I used Dodge to escape a bad situation.... I died. Whether it was in pvp or pve, the enemy had no trouble tracking and continuously shooting me. Have the area of effect be fairly small in crucible but decently large in pve. Just a thought.

4 답변This was my initial reaction. But then playing it more, learned how to use it. I do think it should work like melee ( can always dodge, but perk only happens when charged). But it is no where near as bad as I first thought. Just a little more skill based than the others.

1 답변작성자: FinalLegacy- 7/25/2017 10:42:36 PMI actually enjoyed playing hunter the most. And I was a warlock main in d1. I didn't think dodge was useless especially when paired up with the melee combo. But in raid or harder pve activities, I can definitely see its usefulness falling off.

17 답변작성자: Unforgiven 7/26/2017 6:03:35 AMI am sorry but can people please acknowledge the fact that Hunter has the best jump in Destiny 2 Beta. The triple jump is quick and great for getting out of danger and disorienting other players. DO a jump jump plus a dodge, you are basically unkillable if the player is very skilled. So I believe it is a fair trade off. I have run into teams of 6 hunters jumping around and very hard to kill. So therefore they should just keep it as is. Instead they should buff their Poledancer Super and add a faster sprint to it. It feels very weak compared to the rest of the supers. It is basically an Arc sword "staff". And it has little range.

7 답변Nah, arcstrider needs Gamblers Dodge to get his melee back, and gunslinger can buff the whole Fire team with Chain if Woe by reloading super quickly with Marksmans dodge and then getting crit kills
-
what it needs is to give a team aura when used this would give it team support while still supporting the hunters lone wolf playstyle. Instead of relying on precision kills or melee kills or something arbitrary like that. Simple Ideas...the gun reload one gives a reload speed buff to everyone on the hunters team, Doesnt stack but can refresh the aura with multiple hunters. the melee charge one, giving melee charge buff makes little sense to me in a PVE environment. But that would be the most direct and obvious approach. If they did that, I could understand its CD however if they do not want to give hunters something like that, then they need a much shorter CD, at least half of that if not less. as a PVP oriented player it doesnt bother me, but i feel bad for the PVE hunters.
