OK... I more see some "good news/bad news" here. [b]Is it disappointing?[/b] Yes, it is. I don't like the way the Crucible has gone, and I don't like the way it seems to have taken many aspects of PvP down with it. [b]Is it horrible?[/b] No. Environemnts are great, effects are gorgeous, story is engaging. All the stuff that would take thousands of man-hours to code is very sound. Bungie seems to have landed the stuff they really needed to get right. [b]Is it salvagable?[/b] Yes! The weapon system is not ideal, it's true. But sidearms and SMG's still have the potential to be decent close-in killers, and can still be used to create very potent loadouts. All Bungie needs to do is increase some weapon power settings, reduce Super cooldown time, buff the grenades a bit (recharge and power both), and some other similar adjustments.

The D1 beta is reason #1 as to why people thought D1 had no content. We played WAY too much of the game in the beta so by the time september rolled around, we already played 1/4 of the game.

Bungie said that with the D2 beta, they wanted it to be a small slice of what the finished game would actually have. Bungie wanted to keep all of the content secret until the release. The D2 beta is more focused on testing of the game. The beta is also an older build, so most of the major issues have been corrected.

The whole "it's a beta" is not a valid argument. The game is 2 months away, so it's pretty much a finished product. What they have now in the game is what the final product will be. It's way to late for them to fix the major things. Like putting snipers and shotguns in the heavy slot. A week hunter class, fixing the horrible nova bomb and more. I'm sure they didn't take all this time to make a separate game. What you see is what you get.

Betas in games are not really like betas in other software. Gaming companies aren't really trying to error test their code but they set out to accomplish 2 things 1) stability test: will servers remain stable under realistic traffic 2) sell the game: this is more important for new games that are not already established. That being said, comparing or expecting this beta to be anywhere near as extensive as the D1 beta is simply misguided. Bungie doesn't need to sell Destiny 2, Destiny 1 has pretty much sold it already. The player base that would buy simply because it's Destiny is large enough to guarantee a profit from preorders alone. It is expected that most of those that would buy Destiny 2 have played Destiny 1. Simply put, there really is no need to reintroduce people to Destiny. For the most part, we have a general idea how things level up and what to expect. Because of this, Bungie only really needs to test network stability. Usually this is done by opening high traffic content, namely PvP. If you think about it, at any given moment the two activities that bring the most traffic are raids and PvP. We all know they're not going to include the raid in Beta. Basically they've included the first mission in hopes of giving warm and fuzzies that they're is story and a strike to give the impression of having strikes with mechanics (2 main criticisms of D1 from a PvE perspective). The real intended star is PvP, the activity that will account for the greatest network traffic. TL;DR the Beta is less extensive because the series has advanced past the point of needing an extensive Beta

Totally feels like a Destiny 1 DLC, only one they've buggered up. I had such high hopes for it now feel kinda betrayed, it's not better it's actually worse the guns are weaker powers are weaker and slower to charge, dam I could fire off a Nova bomb then run past it because it travels so slow😬, void warlock was my favorite now it's the worst. The new layout of powers isn't good either, such a shame my hopes have been dashed, thanks bungie I knew I couldn't trust you.
