This beta has many people thinking they are dropping high Kill/Death ratios in pvp matches, when in actuality the new scoring system is providing us with Kill+Assist/Death ratios.
Since the release you've all seen it, a bunch of videos and screenshots posted to brag about dropping a really high K/D in D2 Beta pvp match. For example there's tons of videos with baited titles such as "D2 Beta Ridiculous 20.0kd game!". Maybe these people just haven't realized it's KA/D yet, or maybe they do know but are happy to mislead people to try and make themselves look good.
The killstreaks are overinflated bs too. I've had games where I get that 10x streak next to my name, and a teammate will tell me "holy crap nice". I'm thinking to myself "I can't be proud of this, I hardly even got any kills in the kills feed, all I did was put a bullet or two in somebody and my teammates cleaned them up". This scoring system definitely does not envelope the same sense of accomplishment as D1, when a 10x kill streak meant you actually had to 'finish' that number of opponents and not die.
My friend said "this scoring system is Bungie treating us like we're fat kids who don't do the best in a race, but receive a gold participation medal to feel good about ourselves". I mean I know the positive aspect is this scoring helps promote teamwork/teamshots, but I'm not in favor of this compared to the D1 scoring system.
EDIT: First point I want to make is that I believe assists are a valuable performance statistic, and are good to have in game. However, when you take two different stats 'assists' and 'kills', then pretend they're the exact same thing...i think that is just lazy and false.
EDIT: Second point is there are a bunch of people misrepresenting the end game stats to make themselves look good. If you want to brag and be proud of a D2 Beta match that's fine, just don't tell me you got 27kills with 9.0k/d, when you actually got 18kills 9assists with 9.0ka/d.

1 답변Who cares? Now all the elitist can't proclaim their "amazing skill" and put others down because they aren't MLG. I'm happy this was implemented because it promotes teamwork and eliminates almost any opportunity for the "you KD is 0.7 so your opinion doesn't matter" situation. I've always hated seeing those arguments and now it's gone. I don't care about KD and it is nice to see a 5.0 KD in a game even if I did not get all the kills on my own.

1 답변But it feels much more satisfying to know that I get the same amount of points for assists. Never again will I say, "that guy stole my kill."

The current system is no more or less ridiculous than in D1 when you'd do 90% of the damage on a guardian and a team-mate would swoop in, hit them in the foot, and steal the kill. To be honest, a lot of the insane kill streaks I would see from streamers and youtubers were comprised of at least 50% kill-steals where a team-mate had already done the lion's share of the work and had borne the brunt of the risk and the streamer had just mopped them up. If I had to tweak the current system, I wouldn't go back to the D1 method, but would implement something similar to what Respawn did in Titanfall where an assist would count as a kill if you did above a certain threshold of damage on the enemy (for e.g. 80%). This has the double benefit of rewarding those who legitimately are able to pull their own weight while promoting teamwork and eliminating aggravating kill-stealing.

3 답변I see your point. But, at the same time, it does encourage people to play more as a team and not rely on carries.

작성자: Willie Lx 7/21/2017 5:04:09 PMEven though I have noticed this, it's whatever - makes ya feel better for getting kill creds for doing most of the work, unlike before doing 95% and getting nothing -anyway that makes pvp more...fun if you will, why not That efficiency rating is more important now. 1 답변Well maybe if you worried more about capping those zones, you wouldn't be worrying about something as trivial as this.

2 답변It's better. Even if you only put one or two bullets into someone, you still helped kill them. Imagine if you kept getting tons of assists and die rarely, but still go negative because of it... yeah it's a good system.

Anything that supports jolly cooperation, I'm all for. In destiny, you hardly ever found randoms each actually tried to play as a team. Now if they want to go all Rambo, they face the consequences and realize that they can't.
