This beta has many people thinking they are dropping high Kill/Death ratios in pvp matches, when in actuality the new scoring system is providing us with Kill+Assist/Death ratios.
Since the release you've all seen it, a bunch of videos and screenshots posted to brag about dropping a really high K/D in D2 Beta pvp match. For example there's tons of videos with baited titles such as "D2 Beta Ridiculous 20.0kd game!". Maybe these people just haven't realized it's KA/D yet, or maybe they do know but are happy to mislead people to try and make themselves look good.
The killstreaks are overinflated bs too. I've had games where I get that 10x streak next to my name, and a teammate will tell me "holy crap nice". I'm thinking to myself "I can't be proud of this, I hardly even got any kills in the kills feed, all I did was put a bullet or two in somebody and my teammates cleaned them up". This scoring system definitely does not envelope the same sense of accomplishment as D1, when a 10x kill streak meant you actually had to 'finish' that number of opponents and not die.
My friend said "this scoring system is Bungie treating us like we're fat kids who don't do the best in a race, but receive a gold participation medal to feel good about ourselves". I mean I know the positive aspect is this scoring helps promote teamwork/teamshots, but I'm not in favor of this compared to the D1 scoring system.
EDIT: First point I want to make is that I believe assists are a valuable performance statistic, and are good to have in game. However, when you take two different stats 'assists' and 'kills', then pretend they're the exact same thing...i think that is just lazy and false.
EDIT: Second point is there are a bunch of people misrepresenting the end game stats to make themselves look good. If you want to brag and be proud of a D2 Beta match that's fine, just don't tell me you got 27kills with 9.0k/d, when you actually got 18kills 9assists with 9.0ka/d.

1 답변Let's assume a 2.0+ KD is above average and everything below that is either decent or bad. Now triple that in Destiny 2. Problem solved.

7 답변It makes scrubs feel like they are playing better. Their "skill" is finally shining through. Ohh wait, thats kills and assists? Its not kd, it's kA/d. Ok, sorry, they still suck.

A lot of high skill competitive games use kda or some modified form of it. While destiny is not nor will it probably ever be that, it allows for a better overall view of how useful a player was. Besides, k/d never meant much in D1 since you could just mop up other players kills most of the time.

20 답변Theres a reason why bungie did this. And this reason is really only know by top competitive cod and halo players. The reason is that K/D does not truly matter. If you played 2v2 and you teamshotted for an entire game and only 1 teammate got awrded the kill then according to kd he is the best and the other teammate just got carried. Another reason is that alot of top pro teams get beaten even tho overall they had better K/Ds. It happens alot and what people fail to umderstand is that going 35-30 is better than going 35-15. The guy that died 30 times was in 65 enagements. 35 of them he won and 30 of them he made the enemy weak as well as caused them to reveal their positioning making it easy pickins for his teammates. So bungie decided to give an efficiency ratio because the more efficient a player is per a life the more he is doing for his team to win. K/D is selfish and any decent player can get a good kd. Just get a kill run away stay alive get a kill repeat. It does not represent true skill.

Who cares? That's not important when pvp is trying to encourage coordination and cooperation. You're fighting as a team, so I'm not excited about my KDR because it's not worth a lot on its own. My efficiency is important because I might be dying more than everyone, but if I still top everyone, I pulled my weight. I die more often because I do at least try to push up or take initiative or I'll even jump infront of a teammate with better accuracy to throw off an enemy and get said enemy killed. I pull roaming super off of teammates and usually take them with me. You're focusing on killing and not dying, and that's a basic concept, but it's not enough to win a game against people of comparable skill and experience.

You have stumbled into something, now watch your back because they will come for you. I have noticed I am jamming my barrel in someone's face, screaming die pig die. Nope, I die and then a teammate kills them off for me but 'I get credit for the kill +1.' I wondered why this was so, glad you explained this. There is no k/d like D1, just efficiency ka/d. Just be careful -big guy, for exposing the truth.

This community is so hypocritical, back in vanilla when people were complaining about assists and getting their kills stolen... Me personally I love it because I can get some nice Efficiency every game. Just because you're a sweaty tryhard, doesn't mean you have to complain about bungie catering to people who may not be as skilled...

I think KA/D is a better representation of skill over K/D. Assists are not sexy, but they are a very crucial stat in the game. Just because you didn't get the final shot in on an enemy doesn't mean you didn't play an important role in killing the opponent. You could go 5-5 with 15 assists in comparison to someone who went 10-5 with 1 assist and I wouldn't think the higher K/D player performed better.

I don't even try to kill anyone anymore, for D2, I just put a shot or two into a guy while standing by teammates and look for a second or third guy to shoot at. Assists for kills and team shooting is what makes FPS great right? Snowflake participation trophy generation SMH

16 답변Then you have people like me, who don't give a flying shit about a number on a board. Did I have fun? Yes. Did I or my fireteam enjoy ourselves? Yes. Did I die a ton and get no kills? Who cares. KD means nothing, as others have said. If you judge someone on a statistic that they don't even care about, that just makes you an idiot. For example: I work at a zoo. Our director gets paid the big money, by that, he should know what he is doing. If asked about almost any animal, he bullshits his way through it. But he gets the money for supposedly knowing what he is doing, right? Kd is the same. Just because it is high or low, that doesn't necessarily reflect the person's skill or knowledge.
