But, to those of you who haven't played it yet.... (majority of you) I ask you this.....
You cannot read the ingredients to a meal and know what it tastes like until you try the meal, now can you?
Edit: I have seen a lot of these answers: "If one of the ingredients is a turd, I know it will taste bad" BUT, in what world is a turd ever considered an ingredient? Not sure where you guys are from, but, no meal, in the history of ever, has ever included turd on the menu. Plus, nothing a little sweet baby ray's bbq sauce cant fix! lol
Also, this post: " If you mix nasty ingredient A, with disgusting ingredient B, you know that will probably taste bad" That's a fair point, but what if you had never had any of the ingredients? How the heck would you know if it tastes good or bad? That's ultimately what I was stating. We aren't talking about ingredients you HAVE had, we are talking about ingredients you have NEVER had.
Good discussion tho folks!
Does this mean I am internet famous?!? I was directly quoted! I am honored!

Final edit: Let me elaborate on the subject: Since we have seen about 5-10% of D2, what if you only knew 5-10% of the ingredients, do you think you know what the finish product will taste like only knowing a fraction of the ingredients? The answer is no. No way you could possibly KNOW. Have a hunch sure, but no way you can know!
Either way, I have seen very few posts that resort to name calling childish accusations. So, thank you all for being a civil as you have been!

bad analogy. we've had all the ingredients. they took out the spices we like added way to much salt... and sea salt at that.. heart disease and diabetes a mile away Cheetos aren't healthy Nor are liberal amounts of whipped cream.... looks nice but it isn't substantial if say it's more like they added a raw egg to your Lucky Charms.. eggs are healthy.. they have protein... but in cereal... I'll pass

4 답변작성자: TotalDramaGamer 7/7/2017 4:09:18 AM(tldr at bottom, because it's rambling mostly)
That's ultimately what I was stating. We aren't talking about ingredients you HAVE had, we are talking about ingredients you have NEVER had.
We've never had 4v4's (it's nothing amazing, really), p2p, crucible based changes, a primary (X2, so different...), a dumbed down heavy/special, hammers that don't kill (dawnblade), tanks, no optional matchmaking for certain activities, restricting guns (any group that's ever done 'THIS WEAPON ONLY' playthroughs), etc? I fail to see the 'totally new and untasted' features you speak of. If not in Destiny, then in other games. Any FPS has their matchmaking and connectivity, any MMO has their new PvE mission types plus the ones they already have, and any competitive RPG has their weapon tuning. It's not new, and that's not the problem people have... it's 'is this better' than what's available. And, right now, that's not the case. I'm not saying there aren't 'different ingredients', as that is certainly true, but to say we've 'never had this before' is just wrong. You're still in an American restaurant, you're still getting a cheeseburger, and having Avacados as buns isn't going to solve anything. You're also assuming that people can't pull from other games they've played that have similar features (even though 'destiny ones' haven't been used by players). In the case of Destiny 2... it's still a Destiny game, PvP is still the major focus around weapon and tuning, and the chefs (leaders) haven't changed, and PvE still has raids/strikes/story missions. So why should I expect it to taste that much different? And the fear is... it won't. The comparison is really between McDonalds and a 'new' McDonalds chain that's 'better than ever'. Not between McDonalds and a unique restaurant in freaking Asia, like you're implying. They're such similar games some people still can't tell between the two yet. The familiar is an integral part of D2. Yes, it might taste different. But if it does... it's because they made it 'spicy' and called it new... and you can make anything spicy. You aren't even comparing McDonalds to Tim Hortons. You're comparing McDonalds to a newer McDonalds. That's it. Same company, same types of food, same basic location. A few extra whistles and blips, maybe a few extra foods (again, they're not going to be 'unknown foods you've never seen before', because it's McDonalds) and that's where the differences really end. The reason this analogy isn't good isn't because it doesn't have merit that Destiny 2 won't taste different than D1. It's that D2 is not this new, unknown food that is nothing like D1. We have a very good reference point of what D2 will, in fact, taste like. That's the problem. It's gotten worse, instead of better, over the years. It's the type of food where... if you didn't like D1... you won't like D2. They're not that different. -- If you don't like chicken, you won't like chicken wings. That's your comparison. Sure, you can cook it a different way, add spices, heck put cheese on it, but at the end of the day, if you hate the taste of chicken meat or chicken texture of that meat, you won't like it. And yes, they're both chicken, they might taste different. But we're not comparing chicken to some asian goat and to say otherwise isn't being realistic. It's Destiny compared to Destiny 2. They have to have many core similarities. In fact, that's half the selling point of the game it seems, is that you can 'jump in' and get a feel for the Destiny universe. Just like D1. They can't, and aren't. that different.

7 답변Most of the "hate" topics or posts are actual criticism, and because it is counter to your or other's optimistic outlook on D2, you classify it as hate. The fact that the forums are divided, for the most part, one extreme or another, with people who are either very critical and are not very optimistic about what they are seeing, and those that have to defend it, is not very good. Most of the people that I have seen defending D2 content so far are basing it off of the fact that they loved D1 so much. I have grown more and more sick of the lazy re-skinned content given to us for D1 over the last 1.5 years and highly expected fundamental game changes, not just new content. There is a need for constructive criticism, and that's not hate. I don't want any more re-skins, I don't see a need for new subclasses, I don't see a need for completely revamping the weapon system (PVE?), I don't see how universal weapon perks will improve the game. Bungie has not given us direct explanations as to how these are fundamental improvements. Just like you said, these are ingredients, and they may be good or bad, but right now all we have is a game that looks like more of the same ol Destiny with unnecessary changes that may or may not pan out. Show me needed changes that people have actually asked for on these forums, like mappable items and weapons to the d-pad, a confirmed larger vault or some way to store, sort and organize lots or stuff we collect, a deeper character customization for variety, open world and not just the promise of "larger patrol", larger fire teams like 6 man patrols and missions, I could go on and on. This is why there is criticism, it looks like Destiny 1 with unneeded change, not needed improvements. Simple.

The hate for D2 makes 0 sense. People that bitch are saying it's D1.5, but also bitch that everything about the game is different than D1. I can't have my stickies. I can't have my special. How am I supposed to get kills with 2 primaries? How am I gonna manipulate bad connection with 4v4? That kind of stuff.

1 답변Let's talk about the analogy. Let's say we have a guy named Bob. Bob is at a restaurant ordering a meal. He sees 2 choices, a seafood dish featuring catfish and produced in rice with a mushroom based sauce (not sure if it's an actual thing but it's an example). The other choice is a standard burger (beef Patty, lettuce tomato, pickle, onion) with fries. Bob has an extreme distaste for mushrooms so he goes based on that, ordering the burger.

1 답변Then there's the masses who neither hate or love a game that has yet to be released. Maybe they preorder, maybe they wait for reviews or see how their friends like it before they choose to purchase. A noisy, active minority can make a situation look worse than what it is in reality. I regard the hate the same way I regard hype about a not yet released game.

Because people will complain about anything. Not saying it is going to be amazing but it'll be good I'm fairly certain of. Plus 4 v 4 is my preferred way to play anyways. But I play Halo and Gears so I like smaller teams.

13 답변Core mechanics are at least 60% of the game. Not 5 These are things that are present through the entirety of the game. Interactions are build around these We can definitely speak on ingredients we know about expecially since most of us have played halo and. Destiny to know what it tastes like

5 답변작성자: xI Vorpal Ix 7/5/2017 1:54:50 AMWhy are people justifying lazy / sht devs by defending stuff like 4v4 > 6v6 No 60 fps for PVP (4v4, smaller maps and still no 60fps!) No random perks on gear Reduced skill trees Hybrid Servers (What ever that means) Ctrl - Alt - Del 4 players more like it Class removal Exclusive content that was supose to come but never did. This list is shocking and it's getting worse. Help out, what else have I missed?

Looking at the ingredients of a meal you can definitely make an educated guess as to the taste of the meal. For example if I read that it's a mud cake with ground jalepenos in it, I can guess that it's going to be spicy, and likely kinda bad considering the flavours don't mix. Not talking about Destiny 2, just burning your analogy down.

I'm just anxiously waiting for the pc beta, just want it to run well, and very curious how destiny feels with kb&m, such a weird but beautiful thing after all these years on a console. Wonders if i can get my rl friends to play it aswell, most of them are pc only.
