Seeing as the release date is only one day behind the date D1 dropped, id imagine we're looking at mid to late july. Also someone found a possible...."hint" for the dates in the reveal game play. There's a screenshot where the players glimmer (i think) was shown as 17177 which could be seen as 7-17-17 which is July 17th. The same date that Destiny 1 beta started. Also to even further support this claim the item next to it was shown as 98 (item similar to legendary marks?) Which could be 9/8 which is the actual release date.
