I only include these two as they are my favorite depictions of the song. I personally enjoy the recent rendition of the song by Disturbed the most. I think the vocals are striking and powerful. Thoughts? What is your favorite rendition if not included in the poll?
Edit: Okay f3, we get it. You don't like the Disturbed version. You can stop running around the thread insulting a subjective opinion.

2 답변Either version by Simon and Garfunkel. The Disturbed one is just gross. The key doesn't match that emo roar shit. It's like listening to a Limp Bizkit cover of "Mary Had a Little Lamb." It's just so bizarre. It doesn't sound good. I think the majority of OffTopic voted for that edge-fest because they were born right around the time Obama got elected for his first term. I'd be surprised if they'd even heard of Simon and Garfunkel before. Shit, they probably haven't even heard the original version to make a comparison.

3 답변I could listen to both. It's really not a bad cover. Five Finger Punch Yourself in the Face's version of Bad Company however. BURN IT WITH FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 답변While I will say I think Disturbed did a great job, they definitely showed respect for the original work in their effort, nothing can ever beat it in my opinion. I think I may feel this way not even because of how great the original is, because it is fantastic, but because I'm a bit of a cinephile, and the final scene in The Graduate is just so perfectly executed, and that song is a large part of that.

1 답변Disturbed Sucks. But this is their one decent song. Now I like it less. I have a poisonous hipster mentality.

3 답변I absolutely love the original version. But I'd be lying if I said I don't prefer the disturbed version. Just comes off more powerful.

5 답변작성자: Legion 3/23/2017 5:33:50 AMHonestly, the disturbed version is shit, IMO. Too slow, sounded too edgy. The original sounded more like a story, or a piece of ironic humor. Dark, but not Emo. With a theme, but it never shoved it in your face. And what the hell is wrong with the disturbed vocalist's voice? Sounds like a coffee brewer. The original song had an aftertaste of "oh shit I fúcked up" to it. Like something you'd play to yourself when you destroyed or got rid of a favorite item, or jumped off of a cliff in a video game, or something like that. The Disturbed version had no feeling to it. Dry and tasteless, like English food. But enjoy it if you want, Just felt like giving my 2 cents, a bit of a pseudo review if you will.

1 답변Both have their merits, but I favour the original. Maybe it's nostalgia - memory associated with the song and artists - but that's where I stand. Disturbed is an excellent band and Draimen is a helluva vocalist, they did an excellent job of making it their own without butchering what made the tune a classic, but for personal preference, Simon and Garfunkel edge them out.

3 답변The reason I dislike the Disturbed version is because it's too smooth; it's all harmonics. I liked how the original was a little off-key. It made the song a little more personal.

12 답변Honestly they're both great in their own ways. The Simon and Garfunkel version makes me think of the Irish Troubles for some reason...

1 답변I go with disturbed because the Simon and gar version was a little up beat for me. I thought the darker sound was better.
