It's an evaluation of your skill level represented by points that go up and down depending on who you win or lose against and how high or low their ELO is, with higher ELO being better and lower ELO being worse. You lose ELO points when you lose a game, how much you lose depends on the ELO score of the players on the other team. Vice versa for winning games.
