I have been playing video games since I was a child and I have never witnessed so much hate, malice, ignorance and just flat out irritation In my entire life. This game makes people so angry and brings out the absolute worst in people. Video games are supposed to be fun and help people relax. Can someone please explain the epidemic that is destiny please? Thx.

작성자: EmperorErebus999 2/7/2019 11:20:25 PMElitistic Dominance and Greed are one of the main purposes of these toxic dudes. I usually call them "Harcore Randoms" because they usually take birth as solitary wolves and not usually bond to a clan if they are not sabotaging it or leading it. Our Clan's Main Purpose is to erradicate this kind of players who are literally burning this community.

작성자: KLGChaos 1/3/2018 3:08:23 PMA bunch of nerds hiding behind their computers screens, free from the consequences of their words. Thats all it takes for the inner jerk to manifest in a lot of people. Anonimity gives them protection. Put these people in a face to face situation, with actual possible repercussions for their words, and they'll change their tune dramatically. It really shows their true nature and it ain't pretty.

bad balance, lack of the original game concept coming to fruition, continual changes of the operating rules, lack of or insufficient ability to deal with the lag issues created by both players and the p2p network.. this is what happens when a good idea is butchered by a team that was ill prepared and fragmented right from the start.. The game created passionate players who want the game to succeed in game and not on a stock report or bottom line dollar and sense spreadsheet. Bungie has made it very clear they are more interested in $$ than in the in game success.

At a certain predetermined points in the day bungie has programmed a very specific code that scans for sleeping entities, if the scan reports back affirmative it silently releases a creature into the room to bite them... Known only as a Radioactive Spiderman.

I don't think it's so much the game itself, but more like some of the people on this forum. I see so much hate filled nastiness on here on such a regular basis, people posting about how they helped others that are not at the same advantage as most of us and before you know it, it's gotten pretty vicious. People ripping into others, just for the hell of it. I guess if forum etiquette had stricter guidelines about what is acceptable vs non, then it might be a less toxic place. Having said that there are plenty of the decent people you come across in the game on here too, I just wish the toxicity would be next to nothing in comparison.

So to make his day I introduced him to the purple ball. I kicked it over to him and he lost his damned mind. It was actually entertaining to see him jumping around with it for over five minutes. Just try remember when you were that excited about everything.

In the PVP community, hyper-competitiveness has taken over, and people value the ability to curb-stomp people over winning a fair match. This has lead to people looking for any kind of edge they can exploit to defeat their opponents in combat, including lag switching, DDoS attacks, etc. Bungie COULD stop much of this behavior, except they don't care enough to police their own gaming community. Instead, they have let the cheaters get away with cheating for so long that its almost comical to think Bungie would start policing more harshly now. In the PVE community, the game is a tug-of-war between the haves and the have-nots. If you have friends to play with, you will have access to all of the games content, including endgame content (raids), you will be able to get loot much faster than other players, etc. If you don't, then you're often left on the outside looking in with zero options other than LFG to try to find people to play with, since there is no matchmaking for most activities. And often, their ability to join a group was determined by whether they had G-horn, or ToM or Black Spindle, or one of the games endgame weapons. Beyond that, Bungie's poor management of the game has divided the community largely along the lines of when we began to play the game. Y1 players and Y2 players often butt heads on major issues affecting the game because our game experiences are so different. And its just hard for them to agree when they have different desires and expectations for what this game is and what it should be. Since Bungie's approach is an adversarial one (one group or the other will always win, and they will not try to find a solution to satisfy both parties), this often means one group is entirely shut out from the process. For instance, when Bungie releases a weapons balancing patch, it almost always caters to the PVP community, and that leaves the PVE community shut out as we are forced to watch many of our favorite weapons become useless. PVP balance has already removed much of the fun and excitement this game offered in the used-to-be-fantastic guns and abilities we had prior to balancing patch after balancing patch released for the sake of PVP. PVP players get what they want, and PVE players get screwed. As a whole, the community is toxic because they are largely at odds with each other, and the reason this is so is because of the way Bungie has (mis)managed this game. Rather than taking the time to communicate with people on BOTH sides of the equation and come up with a compromise solution, Bungie just takes one group's input over the other, decides a winner, and releases a patch and says "deal with it." Until that changes, I'm not sure that the toxicity of Destiny's community will change.

It's a great question. I don't get all these nasty messages and replies. Nor do I look at much that isn't written by actual - writers - online for that reason. I do pop in here occasionally to see what's up. Just don't get it with all the BS. Be such a nicer environment otherwise. Too bad.

1 답변Society in general is toxic. People drive like A-holes and run you off of the road just to turn into a convenience store. No one holds the door or elevator anymore. It's the climate in the USA anyway. It seems like it's getting worse year after year. I still choose to be a gentleman.

1 답변For serious now... Destiny employs addictive gameplay reward systems. They are the same systems in use by the gambling and illicit drug industries. Google how the brain processes rewards on a physical level. Then you will understand. When people are used to the reward and its not given the body physically, in the real world, experiences withdrawl. This lowers the players ability to engage in rational thought and communication. And thus, a toxic community is born.

5 답변Use it to your advantage. I love poking the angry people and driving them into a berserk rage. It is very satisfying getting someone to the verge of apoplexy in something that is a make-believe game. Very funny. Same goes on the forums, here. I love tormenting the hostiles. And yes, I do it in real life as well.

But then, you start feeling like you need to get all the loot and do all the things. You need to play trials or ib even if you really just want to raid. You need to run strikes or do patrols and do bounties even if you really just wanna jump in and do some pvp. Of course you don't have to do the things you don't enjoy. Everyone knows that. But the game sort of makes you feel like you're going to miss out if you don't. So anyhow, my theory is that feeling "forced" to play the parts of the game you don't want to play introduces all sorts of bitching. It's why everyone is bitching about trials all the time. People who love pvp and love trials don't mind grinding it, but for more pve oriented players it's another grind and they just want the loot so they can get back to what they enjoy. The complaining leads to arguments, and from there the Internet rage machine makes it seem like everybody is just psychotic.

작성자: CarnivalLaw 1/5/2017 3:56:13 PMWhile there are some serious trolls and flat-out assholes among us, the ubiquitous toxicity is Bungie's fault. Their gross mismanagement of this game has led to a blame-filled dichotomy between PvP and PvE players as well as general frustration and anger throughout the Community. Edit: Read BXR Lonestar's reply below. One of the best explanations for anything Destiny that I've ever read.

It gets worse when you play with your other half. She gets irritated and annoyed about people who think they are the best (but really are terrible) but yet again rather than telling them something you get it used against you to spark a fight.....i have developed a lot of tolerance because of it....

This error can be due to packet loss or disconnections between your home network and Bungie (such as ISP saturation or general internet congestion). It can even be caused by certain WiFi setups, or mobile hotspots that may have experienced a blip or loss of connection.

I think it's the constant struggle between the light and darkness. Some guardians are out here so long, their mentality changes. This also happens irl when employees become disgruntled with the workplace. Think about it, this game is very similar to a part time job. Some days are good, some days are bad....I bet if you had people list comparisons like that it would make an interesting chat. For ex. Bunjie ninjas are equivalent to Human Resources at a workplace. They fire or ban. They also listen for feedback.

작성자: Lord Tao 1/5/2017 12:34:57 PMI think it's a mix of expectation vs reality (games release) fun stuff vs nerfing (gameplay) Glitches that break the game for players vs takes months to fix (as opposed to quick action on cheeses) people get fed up and Bungies responses to comments don't exactly show a healthy attitude towards their player base also this is the official Bungie forum, they don't read it anyway, they are to busy reading the reddit with all it's fanboys and apologists
