Sadly it's true.
For some of us with disabilities it's a meaningless (and at times hurtful) phrase thrown at us.
Our KDs are laughed at
Our ELO becomes the topic of mirth.
But we carry on regardless.
Why ?. Because our struggle is real. Every little achievement is that much sweeter because we've worked for it. It's not a natural gift of split second reflexes and hand-eye coordination but a slow often painful process where we've died a million times before doing something you've probably done in your sleep.
To anyone out there who has befriended, supported, teamed with or match made with someone with a disability,
Thank you.
Edit : this was meant as a thank you. Unfortunately I've been accused of demanding sympathy, pity, playing the disabled card etc. I have re-read what I wrote and I'm pretty sure I'm thanking people for their friendship and support...
But I will try again.
Thank you. Thank you for making Destiny enjoyable.
Is that clearer ??

2 답변I feel you! I don't have a disability, but I'm not great at the game either! can't play too often between family stuff and work and grad school. I've had people tell me I don't try hard enough or don't take the game seriously enough. but you know what? it's ok, because it's rewarding to have so many real-life things going on. I wish my light level was higher, or that I could actually finish half of the quests I've started. sometime maybe :) was proud of myself for finishing the SRL quest over the holiday break

4 답변Its easy to hide behind anonymity to criticise and abuse. Its unfortunately one of the ugly sides of online gaming, the arrogance, elitism and egotism run rife while values such as sportsmanship fade sadly into the shadows.

11 답변I'm with you man. Had a stroke when I was 11 and it put me at a disadvantage in video games and life itself. My goal is to become a rehab psychologist and help those with similar and worse issues. I try not to judge people for this reason. You never know what they're going through.

2 답변I personally think that it os incredible that people with disabilities are able to play video games. Society is so quick to marginalize those that are different. Part of accepting people as they are for who they are is part of the process of growing in to a mature adult. If you ever need help with anything my gamer tag is TheSpicyRooster. Add me and I will be more than welcome to assist you in any of the ingame activities.

2 답변OMG thank you, I have extremely bad ADHD and I take medicine only for school, so I can't really focus well on the game so that is why I get high light by raiding only

7 답변Well, no matter what people say, YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. When you hinder your teammates ability to do so, you have to realize they will get upset. It's human nature. People don't turn on destiny and say "let's go get my teeth kicked in".

2 답변"More clear." Although "clearer" maybe grammatically, not sure. It definitely hits the war wrong in this context. Carry on OP, no need to thank me.

I can sympathize to a degree with you; my wife has spinal nerve damage, which essentially affects the feeling and movements in the outer 2 fingers of her left hand. This makes precise movements difficult for her on good days, almost impossible on bad ones. Give us a game like Pixel Junk Monsters, and she can rock it day in and day out. Give her Destiny, and there are times where she just can't do it; she's a scout and sniper user. The struggle is real for a lot of people, and it's even worse for the invisibly disabled; you'd look at her and see a perfectly normal and healthy 26 year old. Convincing someone that she's legally disabled generally involves an hour of conversation and showing them the medical paperwork.

2 답변No need to edit your post, it is pretty clear you are saying thank you. Unfortunately there are a few nasty little individuals that lurk in the forums.

2 답변I've seen people with mental disorders "git gud". So please don't act like some little baby because somebody asked you to git gud

5 답변I'm sorry that you've developed wherever disability, however, there are places you can have fun that is not an fps. There are single player games so you can lower the difficulty to what you feel is fun and not overly difficult. Or you could play a turn based strategy game. Those don't require good reaction times or accuracy. I will continue to monitor my teammates all I want. If you join into a competitive environment with a disability, that is not my problem. That said, I generally don't rage on my teammates. Just when I'm literally the only one doing anything productive.

10 답변작성자: bFLY 1/2/2017 7:38:05 PMThe best way to know when you've won an argument on the destiny forums is when your opponent brings up stats. All I hear when I see the phrase "git gud" is "your logic was too much for me and I have no valid or intelligent retort so I'll just shit out of my mouth to try and save face". Lol it's really that simple.

5 답변작성자: Ryan 1/3/2017 1:40:15 PMCould we not turn a simple phrase into a huge offense and complain about it. Edit: before anyone starts calling me an elitist or an a hole, I didn't make this to hate on disabled people but honestly it's a phrase people use that clearly have no better arguments. Just ignore and see them for the idiot they are without taking offense to it and make it seem like hate speech.
