Eye roll.....
Suros Regime was hit with a number of nerfs in Year One.
The first couple were targeted at its exotic perks which WERE game breaking in PvP. Because they were so powerful in the vanilla game, that it allowed people to win gunfights they had no business winning. Once they hit the bottom half of that magazine, they'd start to heal themselves (effectively nerfing your damage to them) and then start doing ESCALATING damage from their weapon.
So not only would they get a damage bonus from FF, each bullet in the last half of the magazine would do more and more and more damage to you. You could tell when a Suros user hit the bottom half of that magazine, because the momentum of the fight would change completely.
But by the winter of 2015, Suros had been nerfed back down to something reasonable. Its was still powerful, but not game-breaking. That still wasn't enough for Bungie, because ARs were still dominating the Crucible, and Suros was still the dominant AR in PVP.
I got my Suros 10 days before the Great AR Nerf. So I got 10 days to use it while it was still a powerful----but not gamebreaking weapon.
When the Great AR Nerf patch landed. ARs as a group got DOUBLE nerfed (base damage and range fall off...the only weapon class in the game that got slapped with it at that point) THEN Suros got hit with ANOTHER nerf to it specifically.
So Suros effectively got TRIPLE nerfed in that patch...and the weapon has never been the same since. The Crucible was never the same either, because that patch broke ARs, broke Fusion rifles...and ushered in Thornpocalypse. The exotic HC meta that would dominate the game until the weapon patch that dropped right before the release of The Taken King.
So. NO contradictions.

That's the truth... I had suros in November 2014 but I rarely used it cuz I got my hawkmoon from atheon hard mode hahahaha and I only used fusion rifles but the patch from February 2015 broke them but now you can use them again (saladin vigil, 77 wizard and plan c)

작성자: TheArtist 12/14/2016 1:06:53 PMNo doubt. That weapon patch was disastrous. It rendered two of the game's major weapon classes not just "uncompetitive" but frankly unusable. Fusion rifles have since recovered, but ARs have never been the same since.

It was an unqualified disaster, imo. Fusion rifles have just FINALLY managed to recover from the damage. Auto Rifles have recovered in PvE...but are still mostly useless in PvP....and have been ever since that patch. Also that patch started us down the road to the special weapons meta that everyone hates right now. Because that was the first patch where the Sandbox Team started to deliberately try to lengthen the game's TTK. Which ended the ability to stand your ground and fight off shotgun rushers and slide-shotgunners....and ste the stage for the wave of nerfs to further "cool things down" (Sage Merrill) that hit the game in the first part of Year Two. Hell Nirwen's Mercy and that whole class of pulse rifles got nerfed for the simple reason that the Sandbox team thought that the games TTK was still "too (quick)". SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?

Bottom line is that Bungie doesn't know WTF they're doing with this type of weapon system. Plus they don't understand that once they committed to designing the way they did...ANY hope of this game playing like Halo's MP, in any sustainable fashion....DIED. The game simply moves too fast for that.

Shit happens. At least I got that long to enjoy it. Xbox 1 players NEVER got to experience Hawkmoon in its full glory. As much as I was excited to get Suros when it dropped from a Nightfall....the exotic that I was the most excited to get was Hawkmoon. ...and I got 6 months with it before Bungie started nerfing it into the ground.

First the "Suros Regime"....followed by the "Thornpocalypse." [/quote] This is cute ;)
