We need a public Test Server
A lot of games have this to have the players test out new features or changes before they become an official patch, games like Battlefield and Overwatch.
With this test server we can give better feedback because we will know what we are testing, to see what was done right and what was done wrong, balancing Crucible would be far easier with this feature.
Plus to see how well the changes work in the test server can get people pumped for the update.
Giving us surprise updates with hidden changes only frustrates us.
Bump for a Community Test Server (or Community Test Build, whatever you call it)

Well this is depressing, most people are already giving up, no hope for improvement, and some seem to be completely against public test servers. Seeing as how such test servers help the game Battlefield and Overwatch for balance I thought more people would be for this, but no, no one can trust each other anymore... very depressing...

Test servers are almost always PC exclusive. I know BF4 had a console CTE (Community Test Environment) but that was literally over 2 years after the game had been out. Destiny 2 might have something like that since it will also be on PC. But don't expect them to do it for consoles.

It's too hard to do on console because developers cant just push patches out whenever they want because they dont control the client like they would on PC. EVERY patch has to get certified by microsoft and Sony which takes quite a bit of time which defeats the purpose of quickly iterating and pushing out patches to a test environment

1 답변Public test environment only accomplish three things. - Primarily allow Developers to test changes [i]without[/i] upsetting the existing balance of the live servers. - Let Developers to get their feedback sooner. - And for really impatient people to get to play the changes sooner. The balance of the live servers is not so delicate that it needs to be "protected" by a public test environment, unlike a game like Overwatch which very much wants to be an e-sport. Altering a weapon's damage by 4% is not something you need a PTE for. Radical changes like alterations to the sandbox or redesigning Viking Funeral are more suited to having a PTE but these kinds of changes are rare. There's also a matter of progression. Destiny is a game very much about what you have. It's inevitable that people will complain about stuff they have on the live servers not transferring to the PTE or vice versa.

2 답변Farther too advance for bungie devs I'm afraid. It has been very clear just what they are capable of doing on their own and it hasnt really been anything to go home and right about. The fact that they keep bring in all of these other feces from different institutions speaks well for their ability to meet the consumers demands.

1. It's not up to Bungie to put anything on consoles, it's up to Sony and MS to let them. 2. The community shouldn't test anything as they are barely good at the game as it is. 3. Public testing means any idiot can test the game and give false feedback with the intent of affecting the game.
