Attempting to obtain feedback from the community on reinstating the ability to re-forge (re-roll) weapons at the Gun Smith.
In my opinion, reforging weapons at the gun smith, for even 15 legendary marks and some materials, would not be game-breaking.
There are numerous benefits and advantages to reinstating this option, for which in my opinion, exceed the costs and disadvantages of reinstating it.
Edit #1: I appreciate all of the comments and participation.
It is obviously completely my opinion to reinstate reforging, but I believe it is at least a topic which should be discussed by the player base.
I am fairly certain the community will generally be divided on almost ever topic related to Destiny, but I think there are opportunities for consensus.
I am seeing a lot of thoughtful comments that support reinstating the ability to reforge weapons, but I have not seen a significant number of valid reasons for it not to be reinstated.
Edit #2:
I just checked my phone at work and we are trending.
I do not post often on the forums, but it is satisying to read some of the discussions taking place within the post.
I appreciate everyone's participation and comments to the poll!
Edit #3:
I just got home from work and saw we moved up closer to the top on the trending list, and there are some nice discussions taking place within the post.
The activity is bound to slow down sometime with Trials and other activities in Destiny, but we can still hold out hope for those at work, school, or away from the console to respond!
Edit #4:
We are almost to the top and still trending!
It is rewarding to read and review all of the high-quality posts and comments from members of this great community!
I sincerely appreciate everyone taking the time to participate and comment on the post!
Edit# 4:
Added this edit to highlight one of the most well-written comments (replies) within this post.
The comment is by MenkusKhan, from yesterday, December 9. It has been "bumped" several times, so it is not far from the top at this point.
The player's comment is thoughtful, well-written, and contains a number of valid reasons for the reinstatement of reforging. I can always quote it within an edit if anyone has trouble viewing it.
I sincerely appreciate MenkusKhan's time and effort he took to comment, as well as anyone else who took the time to comment, regardless of what your opinion is on this topic.
Edit #5:
So apparently someone illegally accessed my PSN account and sent an unauthorized mass message from my account with derogatory language in it.
It is disappointing and pathetic that someone would go to such effort considering this is a video game and people are just discussing a topic.
I apologize if any of you received such the message.

Personally I'm going to vote no, although I can see and appreciate the arguments for yes. My main reason is that I felt that reforging took away from the excitement of getting a legendary drop once you already had a perfectly rolled pulse rifle, hand cannon etc. What then was the use in a new drop when it had no chance of being superior to whatever you already have?

I agree for one reason: No one cares about the basic gun anymore. We only care if it's got a god roll. For instance, I get an Eyasluna from Crucible. It's got a crap roll so I dismantle it. I want to be able to be happy when I get a gun outright, rather than have its viability depend on the perks.

4 답변I'm gonna say no. Why? Well it's just simple, look how the end of year 1 played out. Most people who played during this time knows that it was a problem. All you saw was: Shot package, Shot package everywhere.

작성자: jhutch_91 12/10/2016 8:30:47 AMOptions for refilling 1. Turn in the gun once per week to gunsmith like how we wait for a package. We turn in the gun, can't use it until arms day. And it gives us different rolls. To choose from 2. Vendor weapons. We purchase vendor weapons for 150 marks. But they come with random rolls. Same goes for the gunsmith for non vendor weapons, pay 150 marks to reroll (It's like paying for a new weapon) 3. Option to reroll a specific perk. Can only do this once per week with one gun. Costs 100marks. 100 weapon parts. 2500 glimmer. Either pick sights, 2 of the main perks, or the middle tree perks to reroll I would personally like all of these to be in game Maybe not so much the vendor weapons. Or maybe spend 200marks for random roll on vendor weapon Or you know... have them change 2 times a month... or even once a month

I say yes you should be able to re roll, but only once per gun. Being able to obtain any gun with any roll we wanted would be boring. There would be no excitement in getting a good gun because you'd already have a God roll. There wouldn't be anything to grind for because you'd already have the God roll.

3 답변God yes we need reforging back. Nothing is more ball busting than grinding for a weapon to see it has garbage perks.

1 답변Maybe to keep reforging from getting too "broken" I think there should be some kind of limit on how many times you can reforge one weapon and also how many times you can reforge in a week

36 답변작성자: Sparknish 12/10/2016 1:31:17 PMEveryone thinks they want this but they really don't. Back in Year 1 they introduced this and it was pretty cool at first since no one knew what they were doing but then came Felwinter's Lie. The most overpowered shotgun in Destiny history. You think Matador can snipe? Then you would delete destiny off your disc with one game of this beast. Over time people got smarter and better and reforged their Lies into Heavy Weapons that use Special Ammo. Which was so abundant back then too. It got so bad they had to nerf shotguns multiple times and remove shot package. And it wasn't on just shotguns it was Radegast's Furies', Efrideet Spear's, Jolder's Hammer's,(Bless her soul). It was honestly broken. Everyone had the same gun and it was boring. Most people compain about diversity now but Jesus H Christ year one was the most broken meta ever. You could use a Pulse back then. But then you would get two tapped by thorn, last word or get final rounded or get literally mapped by a Felwinter. Don't even get me started on classes. I for one don't think we need reforge again. I think it gives a better feeling when you get your dream roll instead of paying for it. If they did it like The Divison then it would be pretty good. Not too OP and not too weak.

3 답변Warning: long post While I think that right now loot is too random and annoying, I don't think reforging will be that great to bring back unless it's for a substantial price. 15 marks and some mats is too cheap. 100 marks, 5k glimmer, 50 weapon parts, and 25 motes is the price I would make so that everyone can't get a god roll easy. Even still, I don't like the idea of that much rng. I'd much rather have a weapon forging process. Here's the idea I came up with before. I got a little inspiration from elder scrolls online. It requires gunsmith rank 10. This will unlock weapon forging. To forge a weapon, you must first research perks. To do that, first you find a legendary weapon with the perk you want. You bring it to the gunsmith to research (it consumes the weapon). There are 3 research slots; one for each weapon slot. It takes one day to research. Once complete, you unlocked the perk for that weapon type (ex. Firefly. You research it with a scout rifle, so you unlock it for that, but not for hand cannons or snipers. Since stat modifier perks are on all weapons, you only need to research those for each weapon slot; primary/special/heavy) Once you have perks researched, you can now start weapon forging. When you order a weapon package from the gunsmith, it will now have fourth roll slot. This is the forging slot. You can select perks you have researched to apply to the weapon; however, each perk has a specific material you need to get to apply it. The materials can be found in multiple different ways. Certain ones will only be found in treasures chest, others found by harvesting planetary materials, killing bosses, or pvp drops. Also, when ranking up gunsmith, you will get 2 random ones from the package. When you pay for the weapon with the perks, you then wait until arms day for it to come in. The weapon will have the 3 rolls for the week in addition to your customized one. This would help revitalize the gun smith, as well as reward dedication and hard work.

10 답변Why dont they have reforging if they're trying get destiny to mlg status. Makes no sense to me. They cant balance it themselves so why cant they just allow us re-forge so we can all get "god rolls" and "meta" setups easily. It would allow everyone to compete equally and truely. They wouldnt have to nerf this and that if people could experiment with their weapons and create more meta or find them. Just makes no sense to me.... especially since they already had it.

작성자: ExelArts 12/10/2016 7:22:37 AMAgreed let us all have the opportunity to have a god roll weapon of our fav weapon not just a few It makes no sense to me that players complain when players ask for reforge back saying that if everyone had a god roll there would be no diversity in pvp WTF and that there wasn't diversity during HoW! No one was even using legendary hand cannon during hoW in pvp they were all using the exotic hand cannons I never seen anyone complain on the forums about reforging during HoW anyways only till ttk launched and we couldn't reforge newer gear random people started crying it was bad for the game Personally I think they should remove the effects of perks in pvp

For me i couldnt care less wether theres diversity or not. I just think it takes away from the game, destiny is a looter shooter, if i only have to loot one item and then get the best rolls the game becomes fairly pointless. The grind IS getting a god roll, this game is already getting more and more casual by the day, lets not add to that.

작성자: Soul_Eater_42 12/10/2016 5:19:57 AMThe way I see it, the only way we could make it work is by redesigning how Reforging is done. No Motes of Light. Instead, it will require 60 legendary marks, 2500 Glimmer, and 25 Weapon Parts. You choose the weapon you want to reforge, pay the aforementioned cost, and have the Gunsmith reforge it. You will then receive 3 random rolls to choose from, much like placing a Foundry Order, but without having to wait until Armsday. On that note, we seriously need Armor Reforging for Legendary armor. It's frustrating trying to get a certain piece of gear, but it's stuck with a shit stat and perk roll. This includes the Iron Lord armor from the Record Book. Although the stats can change on the Iron Lord armor, the perks don't.
