Bladedancers

Lately I've been getting pretty frustrated when I use the arc blade Super because I will have a 1v1 situation and I'm not peppered with primary, I have full health and I trade kills with the enemy guardian....hardly seems fair. All they have to do is shotgun melee me and it results in a trade. Pretty dumb if you ask me, I don't know what can be done to fix this, but it is extremely annoying. Edit: wow I didn't think this would get that much attention! Glad to see other guardians are struggling with me as well. I'm not asking for any ridiculous armor buffs or for the super to be immortal, I just want to win a 1v1 against a high impact shotgun user without resulting in a trade or even worse just me dying. This is not me being a "crybaby hunter" as some guardians have accused me of being. I actually like using my warlock much more than my hunter since the tripmine nerf, it's just something that seems unfair when compared to sunbreakers and stormcallers.(both of those supers have ranged attacks that do not allow shotgun users to be in point blank range.) yes I know about razors edge perk on blade dancer however it is extremely unreliable and extremely easy to dodge. Edit: don't comment on here saying things like if you rush head on into a shotgun, I deserve to be killed, that's not what I am doing, I'm getting panic shotgunned melee'd at the absolute last second when they finally realize I'm in their face or getting unregistered hits and therefore must swipe again, I probably play this game more than you, so don't try to act like I don't know what I am doing.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I mostly run Arc Blade. It's frustrating to get shut down during a Blade. It's frustrating to get shut down in any Super. That Shotgun Melee takes patience and a well-timed execution. I try to give a side strafe swipe up close to bait out their shotgun before going for the kill. I will let the team know that you would like Arc Blade improved. If anyone has any specific ideas feel free to post them.

    • Yes an increase to armor so it takes 1 shotgun shot and 2 melees would be a nice buff. Keep in mind tho bungie like having stuff do the same thing. Shadestep was nerfed so you can only use it once before the cooldown so they nerf twilight to do the same. I never saw any one complaining about twilight. So if they buff blade to have that much armor you could except the same to be done to hammers and storm.

      I see Arc Bladers getting 3+ kills all the time. Be thankful you have health regen on every kill (no delay like Sunbreaker).... be thankful you also have the agility to evade bullets... blink and invisibility. Ever watch a Sunbreaker in super? They are slow as hell, easy to target and peasy to kill. In other words, you're whining about a non-issue with one of the best pvp subclasses in game. How about you stop whining?

      • Happens to most roaming supers. I mean supers have to be killable. Radiance is way way way easier to kill than Blade Dancer. Have you not noticed how simple it is to just shotgun melee them to death right once they self rez? Stormcaller has no more armor than Bladedancer and it doesnt have a Hungering Blade like Perk to regen health What the hell is wrong with hunters constant need to ask for their class to be buffed and other classes to be nerfed when theres never been a SINGLE time where Hunters were the worst Class in the game?

              • Nothing needs to change with arc blade-nothing. No added agility-added range n defo no added health/shield. AB is one of the best supers in pvp n it's the speed n health regeneration per kill that makes it that way. Yes it can be shot gun melee but so can every other super. AB is the main class used in pvp (cus of the skips that literally follow you up over and under across the map) n it wrecks much more than it doesn't. Nothing needs to change.

                • Whaaatt? I get swiped from like 30ft by bladedancers. They zip and dash faster than my eyes can track. Foh. You can go invisible, -blam!-ing invisible! They don't need to be faster than they are and don't need any Additional armor. Stop thinking you should be able to be everything with every hunter subclass. Remember we're you -blam!-ed up at and try not to make the same mistake.

                  • It's pretty sad that one can't voice their opinion on something without being called a cry baby and crap talked. But I totally agree... I also think the gunslinger needs its tripmines buffed again!

                        • Maybe reconfigure the bladedancer swing into a double swing. For example, there's a short cool down between each swing currently, so it's like Swing. Break. Swing. Break. The buff would make it SwingSwing. Break. SwingSwing. Break. If that makes any sense.

                        • All supers are shotgun, melee. All but sucky hammer. What I hate is the delay the swing has on the hunters BD. Popping the super in the air is a huge mistake now because of the delay in swinging.

                        • Since arc blade requires a close and personal approach to get kills, it should probably have a much higher defense. Making it so a shotgun melee takes out 1/2 to 3/4 of your health. Just isn't very fair otherwise. It's nearly impossible to do good with it currently because everyone runs shotguns these days. (Which I pray will get fixed)

                            • Instead of running at someone head on, try blading to the side and back at them. If you want to know a frustrating super, try titan smashing using death from above only to be one shot by a shotty 6 inches from someones face. That is frustration.

                              • Know what else is annoying, is that the weakest class in the game is the only class able to have 0 recovery stat using blink so essentially you either give up armor and speed for recovery and blink or you give up blink for recovery stat. Hunter blink should not reduce recovery. There is no reason for it. Actually blink outright shouldn't reduce recovery just cause titans can't blink

                              • One thing that would work is adjust the nighthawk helm. Right now it only effects the gunslinger giving one shot that can put down a vehicle and I thiiiink oneshot through a titan's ward and kill him. I've been wanting this buffed for a while and would prefer a helmet which illuminates all targets while aiming down sights... But apparently for reasons I can't comprehend, that would be too op.... So... Instead make it apply to the other two supers as well. With voidbow, instead of firing a tethering shot, it fires an explosive shot, similar to novabomb with lance.... Maybe.... Just maybe, if ou have quiver on it does an effect similar to shatter. Though tht would never happen. Arcblade does something similar to death from above perk on fist of panic. Represented with a more sword like arcblade, you do one are of affect attack with similar range if you jump first, you're given a brief second to target, then blink forward... Probably needs some sort of max range set, and you do your attack on landing.. So basically, it turns your supers into things that other player classes already have and make use of since as it stands, neither arcblade nor shadow shot really compete well. Arcblade seems slow and clumbsy which I don't care what they say in the patch notes, isn't what is intended when you call something "blade dancer" And the void bow teather just doesn't stop supers. I've never seen it cancel a titan out of their super though I'm sure it happens, and usually everyone's already dead by the time you've put down palpatine. Just let the nighthawk give the hunters what the other classes take for granted. Failing that, have arcblade set agility to max when in effect, grant three blinks without cooldown and without breaking camouflage, and slightly improve run walk speed. That said.... I really wish there was a weapon or piece of armor in this game that channeled your super in a different way.... Like the artifact that gives you extra grenade and melee.... But isn't character locked like tlaloc... So, it maybe makes your super charge faster, but each shot eats a little of it.. The weapon deals elemental damage based on your super, and the super effects the weapons charged behavior, solar giving more impact, arc increasing fire rate, void significantly increasing stability or maybe granting dot like thorn...letting us use our supers for something besides just a sucker punch would be a cool trade off... Anyway that's my time tonight, work to be done.
