Reddit Post https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/5eh4ai/since_roi_release_weve_lost_49_of_the_trials/
Here's my suggestion for how Trials matchmaking and rewards should work:
Flawless Chest Rewards
Tier 1: Trials Armour + Tier 1 Shader/Emblem
Tier 2: Adept Weapons + Tier 2 Shader/Emblem
Tier 3: Armour Ornaments + Tier 3 Shader/Emblem
Tier 4: Weapon Ornaments + Tier 4 Shader/Emblem
Tier 5: Tier 5 Shader/Emblem
Going flawless in Tier 2 would get you Tier 1, and 2 rewards. Going flawless in Tier 3 would get you Tier 1, 2 and 3 rewards, and so on up to Tier 5 which awards all Tier rewards.
Rankings
Tier 1: ELO <1199
Tier 2: 1200 < ELO < 1499
Tier 3: 1500 < ELO < 1799
Tier 4: 1800 < ELO < 2199
Tier 5: ELO > 2200
Tier Assignment
Based on the average of the 2 highest ELOs on the team.
Why average the 2 highest ELOs and not 3? So that there are fair match-ups. Take a team composed of the three following ELOs: 2000, 1795, and 700. If we average all 3 we get 1498 (Tier 2: 1200~1499 ELO); which is too easy for a 2000 and a 1795. When we average the same team using the 2 highest ELOs we get 1898 (Tier 4: 1800~2200).
Player Population
Since RoI release, we've had the following number of guardians participate (according to destinytrialsrepot.com): week 1 (827k), week 2 (692k), week 3 (711k), week 4 (627k), week 5 (623k), week 6 (538k), week 7 (436k), week 8 (419k).
Since RoI release we've lost 49% of the Trials population (408k guardians). 100k lost after the 1st week; does this not seem problematic?
Matchmaking
Ideally you'd only play other teams in your team's Tier, and the player population is large enough to fill this demand (may be harder at Tier 5).
I feel like this is a good starting point. If player population becomes an issue, the search parameters could extend to one Tier up/down. In this case we may need to go from a win based card to a point based card; where, a win in a Tier below your Tier = 1 point, a win in the same Tier = 2 points, and a win against a higher Tier team = 3 points. Perhaps we'd bump up the points to 14 (resulting in 7 wins in your Tier to go flawless).

This is actually pretty common in gaming. I wouldn't read too much into it. Yes, trials is littered with problems and cheating, but... If you gathered stats for BF1 you would also see a giant player base on day 1-10, then it drops off sharply after 2-4 weeks, then stays steady for a while, spiking at each content drop. Pretty standard stuff.

Trails is full of cheaters thats why I stopped playing it. The rewards have nothing to do with it. Every single card we ran into cheaters or just start bad connections. Our group all have wired high speed internet and when the host gets knocked off the internet completely three cards in a row, the cheaters can have trails im done with it.

9 답변I see what you're saying, and it's a cool concept but I disagree, trials was always intended to be a competitive mode for the top players of the crucible to compete, and ultimately get the rewards for doing so. If anything, trials is the best way to improve at the crucible, once you hit 5 wins games get harder, you'll win some, and lose some, however you'd find yourself getting more wins with dedication. However, the balancing of the crucible right now makes trials an incredibly frustrating experience, especially for me. Being beaten by guys in corners with shotguns charging supers? Take skorris and electrostatic mind out. There are many tweaks I'd like to see but unfortunately not all will be implemented.

41 답변I have a 2270 Elo and I agree with this post to some extent. I believe there should be a tiered system, but I believe it should have stat requirements for the different tiers but it should be OPTIONAL. this means many would enter the higher tiers for the rewards, but funnily enough to most noobs, the top 1% actually like to have fun and PLAY WITH FRIENDS. That might come as a shock. I am getting fed up of seeing posts treating us as a separate species We were once bad and got good. I know it's an old argument but it's true. Don't try and segregate us because we put our time into getting better while everyone else was playing Fifa 17 and overwatch and BF1

1 답변elo should have no factor.. you can tank elo to get where you want. It will be no different if the sweaties are down in the tier1-2 levels. no matter what you do there is a way around it. you need to understand that. The best thing to do is go back to CBMM like year 1 where you could get anyone, any game and no one can complain anymore.

1 답변I would prefer it if the following happened: 9 wins and all losses = lighthouse, same current rewards. 9-0 = lighthouse, same current rewards + scarab emblem. Gold package = ornament, remove current rewards. EOM rewards = all old gear This would help compensate for lag outs and orbit rips with minimal game changes

Look all it needs is optional matchmaking to bring in the vast majority of solo players that dont care about losing to sweaty fireteams they just want the option to play it & do a few bounties. The ammount of times Ive had my entire raid team of different people each week say they would play trials if only they had a team or it had matchmaking. Funny how everybody is going to slap this down as stupid because fireteams will always win. So what?

Cool idea, op. I think one of the main reasons (amid being crucified by streamers because of horrible matchmaking) for players quitting is bungie's apathy for cheaters, bad connection players, and ddosers. Only recenty had bungie truly began to crack down on cheaters, but its too late. The damage is done.

1 답변Trials of Osiris is losing players because of the emphasis placed on the Lighthouse combined with the fact that the mode is set up to where a majority of the players in Destiny have no shot of ever getting there. There is only so long you can dangle a carrot before people say the carrot isn't worth it and that's what we've seen from Trials of Osiris.

2 답변You're suggesting SBMM, I'm not totally sold as this may be a lag fest. But maybe my concern doesn't count; I played trials the first week it ever launched and never played it again.

As a scrub that has been in reach of flawless and had it taken away many times I support this. On the other hand the people that are actually good would get completely screwed over so this really wouldn't work, but I think the concept is a good idea.
screw the good people I wanna go flawless, bungie nerf good players
2 답변작성자: haphazardlynamed 11/24/2016 1:07:03 AMWant more people playing Trials? Easy, put Optional Matchmaking on so Solos with no premade fireteams can jump in. Instant population boost. Seriously, do this and as long as there's a grindable bounty I'll just keep burning my 3loss cards till I get it and give all you elitists some free newb stomping fodder so you can feel great going flawless. I get to pick up Blind Perdition, you guys get to pick up your Reskinned Adept Blind Perdition. Everyone Benefits.

2 답변작성자: Wheelaa1 11/23/2016 6:56:18 PMThere were a lot of people, like myself, who never play trials, but played 5 cards over the first couple of weeks for the Year 3 record book, so the first figures are inflated. Destiny's PvP being garbage too doesn't help. Edit...delving into the thread you link, and figures further back, seems the drop off is not problematic at all, rather...expected. Nice idea, poor premise.
