Everyone's entitled to an opinion. That does not mean people will like it or agree. Freedom of speech is not freedom of repercussions. I had the "pleasure" of trying to talk to him yesterday after his initial polarizing post. He seemed keen on being callous and rude, with little intention of being constructive.
Now understanding that he tried to give reason to his post later on, his excuse does little to sway my opinion of your "friend". I hope he never knows the loss of a loved one, but realize the futility in such hope.
Point is, he deserved to be banned. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you bully others.
