Everyone's entitled to an opinion. That does not mean people will like it or agree. Freedom of speech is not freedom of repercussions. I had the "pleasure" of trying to talk to him yesterday after his initial polarizing post. He seemed keen on being callous and rude, with little intention of being constructive.
Now understanding that he tried to give reason to his post later on, his excuse does little to sway my opinion of your "friend". I hope he never knows the loss of a loved one, but realize the futility in such hope.
Point is, he deserved to be banned. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you bully others.

He was pointedly insulting myself and others. Bullying goes beyond physical abuse, it exists in verbal/written communication as well. Did this upset me? No, but I did report him as it was obvious his communication was toxic to this community. I'm not here to weigh what bullying was worse, if people were being rude, sending death threats or whatever, to him then they are guilty of the same but as I was not a witness to that I can't say much more. These were my actions and reasons as to why I took them due to my personal experience with this person and I feel that the community is better off due to his banning, that is all.

I'd love to quote him but seeing as I can't go back to the post i'll summarize that he simply called me a "special snowflake" in a derogatory manner after explaining I expect a certain respect and standard when communicating with others online, or I simply move on after doing my due diligence as a member of this community.

That's his way of saying that you aren't special. Sorry, but no one is special. Not me, not OP, not you, not Boomertbh. I really wish I could say more, but they banned him, so I can't really get the full context of you guys' conversation because it's, well... gone. Trust me when I say that's him being as least insulting as possible. He wasn't really saying "ah Fok you you're not a special snowflake," he was using it as a way to strengthen his claim... I think. I dunno, everything of his is gone /:

I read somewhere that someone said "Just because you're online doesn't mean you can be hateful," or something like that. Actually, you can. But we're not necessarily being hateful, we're being honest. I like talking with you, you seem like a gentlemen and have no hostility. Very refreshing compared to all of the hypocrites that decided to "Respect and Honor" the dead by giving out death threats or telling people to die.
