Why exactly were Legacy Players hung out to dry?
I know, I know, RoI was too resource-intensive. But did you really have to cut us off from

~The API (Ishtar Commander, Stats, etc.)
~Events (Oh, I'm sure trading candy is waaaaaay too complicated.)

Guess this is what we can expect from Bungie from now on. Events that were supposed to be paid for by micro transactions, designed to make us pay more micro transactions, this festival is not for the players enjoyment, or to celebrate the holiday, it's so Bungie can make more money, period 💰💰💰💰💰🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑👍🏻

360 and PS3 users are no longer on the current version of Destiny. They are stuck to an older version. That version does not update, and does not sync with Bungie.net. Bungie.net syncs with the live version of the game. It's not like they said, "Hey, let's take this away from those guys." Logic would dictate if it's gone, it was because the system can't allow it.

I bought the sound track to Star Wars: A New Hope on 8 track back in the 70's. I was told it was top of the line Hi Fi and that it would be around forever. So why can't I play it on my CD player? Both systems have it.. but why can't I use mine anymore? I feel cheated.

Dude, companies advance. Technology advances. We don't keep using and reusing the same old tech. If we did we would still be living in caves using rocks as hunting tools. Just look at a generation of consoles earlier. When the Xbox 360 and PS3 came out, did game companies continue making games for the Xbox and PS2 or did they eventually stop and just make the new games for the new consoles?

Most responses that I'm reading are not countering your bullet points. No, Bungie shouldn't have disabled the "My Legend" for Legacy players. I can understand moving on with the expansion but simply disabling Legacy players ability to utilize Bungie.net and character information, and indirectly disabling much of the Companion App functionality, is unreasonable. Stats are still being tracked so it isn't that they can't show them, they just don't want to give Legacy players the creature comforts that players on current gen enjoy. The reason why is pretty obvious and it has nothing to do with technological limitations.

With them out of the way, Bungie has more freedom to improve graphics, and add things that would have been difficult to manage on those outdated consoles. Hell, when Taken King came out, they has to disable several in-game features on Legacy console just to get the extra Vault space to work. As I recall, Legacy consoles couldn't even have certain emotes, and some legendary and Exotic armor and weapons had to have animations and geometry removed because of the memory limitations. The other reason is that, soon, Sony and Microsoft will completely drop support for those consoles. They've already begun halting manufacturing for them. Wouldn't be a smart move for Bungie to keep supporting them either.

If Destiny does indeed last 10 years, then by year 8 we might see Destiny left behind on these current consoles. People need to start using common sense. People who thought Destiny was going to be a single disc game or console for 10 years are imbeciles.

8 답변There is no reason to still be on legacy consoles. Xbox one and ps4 have been out for like 4 years. If you have not saved up enough money by now you have a spending problem.

The 10 year plan never said anything about lasting for 10 years on last gen consoles. It just said that Destiny as a franchise is a 10-year plan (which includes Destiny 2, 3, 4, etc.). And to their credit, Bungie did give everyone plenty of warning.
