Think Diablo (D3) Junk menu. Clicking the right thumb-stick to send items to a separate inventory UI where you can either trash everything at once or turn in for materials/gold. Same principles apply here - but we'd get Glimmer or Engrams/Materials. There'd still be that quick option just holding the button to dismantle something right there. Just be nice to have that other inventory screen for these. Either it would be sent directly to your Vault (with added UI space separate) or while on the Pause menu itself.
