no. When Bungie implemented the rule that set you up against players who were in the same card position as you, Trials became even better.
I love the fact that when you're at 8-0, fighting for your 9th win, you can be almost 99% sure the the other team is also fighting for their flawless win. It makes the competition much more intense and exciting. Receiving your flawless win by depriving another team of theirs. THIS is true competition.
I dont want it to be easy. I've gone flawless 34 times since ToO started, BUT, I have not gone flawless in a pretty long time. Why? because the team that I put together is just not better than the team we face at 8-0. That is fine with me. When I get to the lighthouse, I want it to be because I smashed on fools, got a few montage-worthy video clips saved, and had solid communication with a good team throughout.
Now, this is the part where I'll be considered an 'elitist prick'. Look, I DO think the lighthouse is for everyone, but you need to bring yourself to another level if you are to get there.
I still haven't completed King Falls HM OR WOTM. You don't see me complaining about not being able to get an Outbreak Prime, even though I want it. The main point is, either I'm not good enough to beat these raids, or I cant be a part of a team who's good enough to beat them. Either way, its on me and my skill level. I can simply keep practicing in PvE and get better at it.
Same applies for Trials. Its fine as it is. It is giving the already good players a place to compete and thrive and it is giving the other players a reason to try and excel, to get better. We don't want participation trophies man, somethings should left be untouched.

So your a scrub ? Cuz it takes less skill to beat hm oryx than it does to breath . Trials as an endgame mode was a bad idea from the getgo , the game was toxic already , now it's a pissing contest between no lifing gamblers. Basically I think to make trials fair , the weapons provided should be basic , and all abilities(armor and recovery would be exactly the same for everyone) except jumping should be disabled . Bam equal ground and skill really determines the winner , not a shotgun that can blast you from handcannon range.

I still think skill based match making is better. Getting stomped out of the gate by a team that's been to the lighthouse 100 time doesn't teach you anything. The matches are over so quickly theres no instructional value. You get better by playing other teams incrementally better than you are - not light years ahead. Trials is rarely close. There are some matches that are nail biters but for the most part you dominate or get destroyed. You don't square off high school football teams again NFL players and say it's a teaching moment. It's a scrub stomping moment and the same applies to trails.

Idk man, just practice and get better. You're making it seem as if other players are infinitely better than you. I don't want to sound like an asshole but you might just need to get a little better. Take your trials team into a private rumble match and yall have at it. Even if the other team is better, you can still win with better communication. Run to their spawn, or wait out a bit and catch them rushing, or have one distract and 2 flank, Idk, just call random plays.
I don't want it to be easy...
Then why are you against a tiered or SBMM system? It would be difficult for the entire card, not just the last 3 or so matches. That intensity you thrive on the 9th match for flawless would be felt for 7 or 9 matches (depending on boons), not just a handful.
-
The RNG nature of the match making, take away any argument of skill, more so when losses are not factored into the equation. That team could be 8-0 or they could be 8-2. Or really any amalgamations, since the card's can get stuck a weird numbered if people didn't by boons, and such, and all though we know that bungie has stated its based off wins. We have NO clues how these other factors play a part in the system, potentially making it even MORE RNG, like hand cannon bullets.
-
The system is defined and straightforward but as with all other systems, there are variables. These variables are things like did they buy boons, did they use their mercy, etc. However, these things can never be streamlined. Not in destiny. Not in anything. You cannot control every little thing and there are no equations or algorithms that can control them. Even if bungie implements the system people are in favor of, new variables will arise that again, people have issues with. Therefore, it should stay this way. The hard mode of the latest raid is the ultimate challenge for great pve players, a task that someone like myself won't accomplish, whereas, getting to the lighthouse is the ultimate challenge for great pvp players. That is it. We need to have an "ultimate" in place for both pve and pvp. A "strive for greatness" sort of thing.
-
ultimate challenge for great pvp players.
Can you call something an ultimate challenge, when 50 buck can buy it? Just a question. I've been to the light house, I year one, and 2, I've played all the raids on hard mode, and kings fall on challenge and gotten the Outbreak Prime. My wish now is for a TRUE competitive mode, not this RNG bullshit, that can be bought.

Oh. Well that's just a dumb idea in the first place. I didn't know that was a thing. Anyone desperate enough to pay for a flawless run is.......well no need to get into that. I didn't know that was a thing and it's in no way shape or form anything bungie has control over. Just like the omnigul cheese, it is not something suggested or enforced by bungie, it is simply something this community came up with and chose/chooses to do instead of. Bungie should have a team that goes around only to ban people who accept money for flawless runs.
-
Sorry didn't see this but yeah the other guy/girl covered it, but year it's a HUGE market. Not even hard to find this is a Google ad: https://store.trialscarries.com/ I can only assume that bungie endorses this. After all Google Ad...
-
Wow wtf. Nope, bungie doesn't support it. You can pay Google to place banner ads for your business. It just depends on how much you want to spend. However, this does tell you something though, that enough people are availing that service if they have enough to pay for marketing. Theyre pretty much exploiting the game and making bank. Bungie needs to get on top of this
