My expectation is the Cabal, actually.
The Vex are like the Star Trek's Borg times a thousand. The Hive are terrible beyond imagination as well, and are responsible for the complete genocide of entire worlds -countless many of them. And each world destroyed strengthens them further through the Sword Logic.
However, the Cabal Empire is a force even more mighty. The Cabal legions in Sol at this time have been through the ringer, to be sure. But it is important to remember that those Cabal have been away from home for a very VERY long time. Drawn out combat in unfavorable conditions has eroded their morale, and they just aren't fighting at their peak anymore.
Its also important to point out that these guys on Mars and the surrounding satellites are only the first of MANY. They're not even the tip of the spear, but just the edge of a routine invasion force. Now that these run-of-the-mill deployed troops have shown to be insufficient for an invasion of this area of space, the Empire will actually direct some real attention to the area.
The Cabal are about to step up their game and usher in a whole new era of suck.
Now that's not to say that the boys in Sol have been pushovers. They have stood toe to toe with the Vex and even managed to retake ground. Their plans to invade the Black Garden themselves were derailed when we showed up on the scene and beat them to it.
Their weaponry and armor is extraordinary. Their guns don't fire mere bullets, but volatile mini smart rockets that detonate after penetration into the target, filling the body with shrapnel.
Furthermore, they operate on a massive intelligence network that transmits real time information to the rest of the units in the area, allowing the entire force to react incredibly fast to the changing battlefield. So fast in fact that they are able to effectively combat the Vex, who think and fight as one entity; one that can also teleport at will and operate across time as well as space.
While there wasn't really much of anything that they could do against Oryx and his unconventional tactic of taking enemies, their superior tactical abilities are unparalleled. In the past they presented an insurmountable threat to the Golden Age military, along with (more than likely) the Warmind Charlemagne. They have (on the large scale) gone toe to toe with Rasputin, and even managed to assault Oryx's Dreadnaught BEFORE the vessel's superweapon was disabled.
And again, these are just the run-of-the-mill regular invasion force guys, the troops sent by the Empire on just another routine invasion.
Buckle up Guardians. The Cabal Empire is about to put their tryhard pants on, and actually pay attention to our little corner of the universe.

작성자: HELP1NG HAND 9/26/2016 7:07:37 PMBecause they're apparently un--blam!-ing-stoppable. But in all seriousness... I don't really know. Most likely, the Skyburner frigate that rammed into the Dreadnought is protected by armor of unimaginable strength. Don't forget that the Queen's Harbingers, which had destroyed entire fleets and punched through the escort craft like they weren't even there at all -those same Harbingers- didn't do squat to the armor that plates the sides of the Dreadnought. And the Cabal ship rammed right through that same armor, punching clean through it and several hundred yards further into its architecture. As Cabal don't make use of cloaking technology that we know of, and the Dreadnought also did not hesitate to fire the super weapon in response to a lone, one man ship (that we were in) as it tried to approach, it can be safe to say that the ship actually was also hit with the super weapon. And wasn't stopped. Much like the honey badger, it just didn't care. And didn't give a shit about that impenetrable armor either. In line with the Cabal's philosophy of simply crushing anything opposing them with overwhelming force, the ship very likely just charged right into the Dreadnought. And they didn't go in with some martyr mentality either. They charged in with every intention of flat out destroying the Taken King, his vast armies, the Dreadnought that they arrived on, and anything at all that got in their way.
