Like anyone who does strikes, I've experienced a ridiculous amount of afk players hoping to sponge off of my hard work. From that asshole spinning in circles in the corner, to that guy walking into a wall repeatedly because he Rubber-banded his controller; we have all experienced this. Instead of going insane with fury I do one simple thing.
Leave. Immediately.
If this entire community for two weeks could commit to leaving strikes when they see some asshole in the corner spinning in circles there would be no more people afking in strikes. People who afk are like dogs, and have an IQ to match. You reward a dog every time it bites you in the ass, that dog is going to keep biting you in the ass. Stop rewarding these afk assholes and they won't do it anymore.
Sure it would suck for a few days, and we would have to sacrifice our streaks, but those couple of weeks of sacrifice would save you years of headache. I understand that things come up, and you may have to step away for a few minutes. Just know that if you are gone for longer than 10 minutes, you are going to return and find yourself alone in the strike. Most strikes don't take much more than 20 minutes to complete, so if you miss more than 10 minutes of it, you really can't complain if everyone leaves. I think it's fair.
Since Bungie can't come up with a viable fix for this, let's do it ourselves. Let's bump and sign this and see if we can get this community on board.
Edit: I realize comparing afk assholes to dogs is a low blow towards dogs. I love dogs. Afk spongers are more like leeches, nobody likes leeches.

1 답변Two guys decided to go afk with me this weekend on Undying Mind. So I cleared it all the way to the boss, then came back and explored the entire map, every nook and cranny, getting as high up as I could, (thank you Bones of Eao), trying to find different ways out of the map, etc. It took 25 minutes before the first guy realized that I wasn't going to pull him through. I could hear the second guy throw a grenade about every 8-10 minutes. After about 10 minutes someone joined, and I messaged him to let the afk guy do all the work and pretend like we were shooting the boss and adds, but purposely missing. That was one long strike, but it was worth it.

I agree, i would leave if i saw it too. But i stay for 5 mins before leaving. Although if someone plays well i will send a friend request to them. If they try melee attacking the final boss repeatedly i probably will not friend request. Lol happened once mr.tefflon ( close but not his real gamertag )

4 답변Instead of having a boot option make it where you can report a possible AFKer. Now the way this would work, make it so when this is reported, a pop up screen shows on the guys screen asking if he is playing. They have 1 minute to reply before being booted. This will stop people from abusing it, as well as making it possible too get rid of these guys. Probably should limit it to one time report as well so people won't troll as well lol.

6 답변The bigger problem is people who are active, but don't know how to build out there sub-class. Running high-level strikes when Arc-burn is active, there's absolutely no reason to be using Envenomed instead of Vanish in Smoke, and doing so is actively harmful.

2 답변Push them off a cliff so they die and then they should time out and get kicked for afk. Also report them as inactive only. bungie has been putting repeat offenders on a timed ban from matchmaking.

2 답변they only times i've ever afk'd were for no more than a minute. it doesn't take that long to switch items in your inventory, or take a leak and wash your hands, nor does it take more than a minute to take the pizza out of the oven. if you are dealing with a child, i can't believe myself that i have to tell a friggin adult how to parent but your kid needs more attention then a game. I know a lot of gamers are parents and that is awesome but unless your kid is participating with you, you should be spending your time with your kids. not letting them do whatever while you game and have 'me' time. be the full time parent not the part time parent. maybe I was just spoiled to have an over attentive parent that took me places and did things but I certainly had a cool childhood, i feel bad that so many kids now-a-days miss out on the same stuff. really breaks my heart.

8 답변Uh no if they are afk they won't even know that you left and they will still wait and more people will just join and do it instead. Good idea but yeah...

2 답변The AFKers force me to be a better player...because of that I'd actually spend more time in orbit, than I would clearing strikes, solo. Frankly, I don't even care if they are afk because dumbass mofos are still shooting at mines to disable them. When I play Salvage (because Shaxx had a bounty) I'm no longer annoyed that people turn it into a longer version of Skirmish. Playing Zone Control, half the team is shooting at each other at 'B' the whole game and getting zero points. I'm saying some people just don't care and neither do I. I run the crucible to clear bounties. Seriously tho, 20 minutes is pretty long. I cleared the Black Garden Strike in under 10 min, and I think the 2 goobers were STILL at the very first area when I killed the boss. The Archon Priest....the other 2 in the team are usually still stuck at the pikes when I kill the boss. Valus is dead in about 10 min from the start. In 20 min I could potentially get 2 exotics.

I have to admit I feel bad as I hate AFKers and will leave right away if I see one. However the other day I just finished a strike and was making my way to the bathroom when I stepped in dog shit my little boy was having diarrhea so I quickly took him outside came in washed my foot off and realized omg I'm afking. By the time I got back they had finished it so I sent them a message explaining I'm sorry and asked them if they would like to AFK while I ran the next strike. One said sure and the other never responded. So the next strike, I ran it and the first guy went AFK the other left, then third guy got match made and guess what. Came in AFKing, if I didn't tell that other guy I'd let him AFK I would of left.
