The main purpose of an exotic was for it to be unique. In year 1, they were just that. Not only unique, but strong as well.
All that went downhill after we got elemental primaries, and the vast perk pool for legendaries.
They took elemental primaries away for "weapon diversity" and to make things more of a challenge. Okay, that's fine.
Exotics are still not that unique, given you can get legendaries that do similar things.
I'll take my god roll weapons over an exotic primary any day. That goes for both pve and pvp.
Primary exotics need something more, that make them stand out.
I think giving all exotics some sort of elemental damage would make people want to use them again.
Of course not for free. Elemental cores have always been the best idea.
I think that the item should be obtained from xur.
It should then be taken to the gun smith. He'll put the core in whatever exotic primary for whatever cost.
Then you have your elemental exotic primary.
But once you pick your element. It's there. You can't change it.
So for instance. If you decide to make a void infused bad juju.
The only way to make it solar would be to buy another bad juju and repeat the process.
But that raises an issue with the way bungie wants their game.
I feel like they'd have an issue with people having Three bad juju's all with different elements.
I'm using bad juju as an example of course.
Imagine having 3 supercells. solar void and arc
I just feel like that would be something bungie wants to avoid.
So maybe each exotic would only be able to have one specific element.
So supercell already has arc. That can't be changed.
Bad juju gets void. No solar or arc.
Boolean gets solar. No void or arc.
If each weapon only had one element that can bind to it, it would dismiss a lot of issues (like having 3 different supercells), whilst giving each one a purpose.
Sorry for the length. Just trying to cover all grounds.

I hate that having multiple of the same weapon is even a thing. It's a waste of perfectly good vault space. I'd prefer that perks could be infusable into a weapon. You could do the same for elements but that would be somewhat game breaking. Bungie needs to resolve the root issue with shield design and elemental multipliers. I'd rather see cool down, ammo driven or consumables that have elements attached. For all weapons and not just primaries. Preferably multiple methods to add some flavor. Then making something special wouldn't have to be an all or nothing. Raid legendaries could have a chance per shot, quicker cool downs and etcetera.

The issue with having elemental core is this:it would take away from what makes zhalo supercell unique and also, it would make secondaries seem even more useless:making use of its elemental properties. It was a good idea with elemental core, but it wouldn't be a good idea to make a lot of exotics elemental because it would interfere with bungie's "weapons of balance" just 1 or 2 exotics with elemental properties is fine enough. Not chewing you out or anything, I tried to come up with a better idea like having elemental cores being sold by eververse, but bungie has stated(if you don't count the boosts in sterling boxes and SRL racing) that they will never have one of those "pay to get ahead" items like...a weapon at a light level of 340 that you have to spend real money on...unless I'm wrong on this one.

I get what you're saying. It's a valid argument. I wasn't speaking on changing zalos. It would be as it is. Simply because it's effect plays into the arc roll. I feel though. There should be more elemental primary exotics similar to zalos. Zalos' arc chains. Typical electricity property. So there should be a solar weapon that has a fire effect. Along with a void weapon. I feel like if there is at least one of each, it would just make more sense. Excluding mytho and necro, because they've been left in year 1

작성자: ReverseOfRiot 9/13/2016 6:07:38 AMOh no, I understand, I knew you weren't trying to change the zhalo. Infact, the point here was....actually, let me use an example, cuz its kind of tough for me to explain. So back in year 1, vex mythoclast was the only EXOTIC primary with a elemental damage. HOWEVER, the reason why it kept getting nerfed AND wasn't brought back is because so many people kept using it in PvP repeatedly. And I mean, imagine having almost all players in crucible having vex mythoclast, which is essentially what happened. Vex had a high damage output, only took 2 shots(now takes 5 or more) and it almost functioned as an auto rifle with the properties of a fusion rifle with one beam. Not to forget, it pretty much shredded any mob's(specifically wizards) shield that were orange AND it ripped through hordes. And ofcourse...so many people using vex(sometimes) both in PvP and PvE. Bungie wanted to achieve balance, where you have numerous guardian's using different weapons to complement their style and no one saying "ha, you don't have mythoclast" or (hehe, remember this?) "must have gjallahorn to join party". Believe it or not, they made a HUGE leap, but didn't achieve, but got extremely close to the balance they were hoping for in TTK. Nowadays, you don't see people using zhalo supercell as often as you see vex back then...well, only when the heroic buffs are both primary and arc burn. Other than that, zhalo wasn't too overused as vex was. It had its weakness and it had its strength. This is just only why we have zhalo supercell and why vex didn't make it to year 2. If vex were to make to year 2, so many players would whine and complain about how it's weak and it shouldn't be because it's a fusion rifle. Not to mention, many of us really love and miss the vex mythoclast. Now boolean Gemini as a void primary? Well, I'll say it again, I agree. No need for another quest to get it, just make another hotfix tweaking boolean gemini, maybe buff it up a tiny bit, and then good to go. Aside from boolean gemini not being a auto rifle like zhalo supercell, boolean could be its equal. People would use and like both boolean and zhalo equally and I believe it wouldn't harm bungie's delicate weapon balance too badly. I'm not really pissed and saying "YOU'RE WRONG", no, I just wanted to get all my opinion and information out here for other guardians to see and ponder upon this. And also...I was bored at the time I typed this all up so...yeah... P.S. also...I had auto correct so..it's really stressful but rewarding for me.
