    Here is a fun little live fire demonstration with a 44 Magnum. 6 shots in 1 second. Watch all the way towards the end when they run the footage from the head cam...an interesting comparison to our perspective in the game. [/url] This simulates a perceived range in game where we in fact have been seeing high missed rates. This guy landed 6 shots on target to the body...in right at one second. Just some food for thought to put up against all the talk about real-life weapon handling. Granted he is a trained shooter, but you can find videos of normal guys (and gals) doing this kind of thing all over youtube that demonstrate how off kilter this mechanic is in the game. Have to admit this guy is a lot of fun to watch mucking around in his videos. "GET SOME!"

    • The real problem is expectations. You cannot have a game that promotes the idea of improving ones 'skills' through things like the 'Crucible' and 'Trials of Osiris', and have such sloppy, arbitrary and random game mechanics. There's no 'skill' in rolling the dice or flipping a coin....

        • RNG/ghost bullets should be completely removed from the game. I'm an auto rifle kinda guy but common bullets should hit stuff. Cool fact RNG/phantom bullets affect Shotguns and fusions as well. Fix it Bungie.

        • Who in their right mind thinks bloom is a good idea. All that is required is a drop off in damage as distance increase. Why make a persons skill and accuracy random? Bungie logic makes no sense again! PVP Is quickly becoming the big joke about Destiny, with mechanics and matchmaking that are out dated or illogical.

          • ill be honest. the "ghost bullet" i call spook bullet is just a way of saying that a gun isnt always 100% accurate when aiming down sights. to me i find it non annoying.

          • I was curious about this post, so I decided to equip a eyasluna with rifled barrel and inspect it amongst scouts it has a higher range than mida, slightly better range than my jury, and slightly less range than my dis-43, I use hand cannons ever now and than, and thought the same thing, but attributed it to perhaps bad aim, but after watching the video, how can one hit crit. And the other not? I'm a believer now, good video and bump

              • 4 of the top 10 primary weapons getting the most kills in the crucible are hand cannons (TLW, Eyasluna, Finnala's Peril and Hawkmoon). http://guardian.gg/en/weapon-stats?platform=1&start=2016-09-01&end=2016-09-13&mode=10&activity=0 Hand cannons are the most represented weapon type on the list. Therefore, regardless of "ghost bullets" they are the the most affective weapon type. I was watching SC_Slayerage play crucible on and off and he was using Finnala's Peril. He was getting a critical kill just about every other kill in his match, meaning that the first 2-3 shots were registering and applying bloom, yet his final shot was critical. Watching him and Realkraftyy and any number of the streamers that use hand cannons, I don't see them being hamstrung by "ghost bullets." I think they are hyper competitive and using the best weapon in the game, which do have some quirks, but overall are very effective. Even in that video they are skirting the edge of where hand cannons should be effective, yet he still lands the occasional critical, but if you moved him 10' closer, what would the hit registration looked like? My personal experience is that hand cannons aren't for me in PvP. My controls are too squirrelly. 10 sensitivity and aggressive sensitivity for my Elite Controller make precision shots very difficult, so I use a pulse when playing crucible. My preferred weapon type in PvE is the hand cannon and never does it let me down (bigger hit boxes and stagger effects on PvE enemies make them ideal). Anyhow, my point is this: hand cannons are in a good place, despite "ghost bullets" and if Bungie "fixes" them, you'll see a significant damage nerf and increased falloff. Question is, what do you want: faster time to kill with finicky ranges or slower time to kill at marginally extended range? And will it still allow them to be viable against weapons like MIDA and the Hawksaw archetype?

                  Noticed this nonsense when using the last word. I had to literally stop aiming to kill people correctly. How the heck is that in any way logical. Edit: By stop aiming I mean aiming down sight. Basically just pointing in roughly the right direction was killing enemies quicker than actually aiming for their head?!?!?

                    • Read that response.... I understand it but don't agree with it. So because my guardian is wielding a hand cannon he should automatically become a terrible shot on every third or fourth shot that I take because the gun is meant to be a low range weapon? If a hand cannon landed every shot from that far away it wouldn't be a fun game anymore, now there is more diversity than ever with weapons, stop crying about your gun not firing right in a video game pick one up in the real world fire it and when that light shines down and you say damn that eyesluna fires like a real pistol would of that caliber, I hope you feel like the idiots you are, and another thing, you all get on here and b*tch about how the game isnt what you want it to be, are you a game developer?                           • I agree that it is pretty shitty when you aim at the head and the bullet disappears. This shouldn't happen and needs to be fixed. The problem I see I that the crucible is littered with Eyasluna, Finnalas, or LHF. All with the same God rolls with amazing range. Once again, Bungie fails to realize when a weapon tier is dominant and the weapon runs rampant in the crucible for months on end.

                          • They addressed that they are gonna look in ways of making it fee not as bad. There's no such thing as ghost bullets. Hand cannons have low range (as they should). I never see anyone having that much of a problem with them in crucible. The bullets aren't vanishing, it's just a low accuracy at far distance. Yes it makes you feel bad but that's super balanced. Remember thorn and hawk moon once could shoot like a scout rifle. Accuracy is needed to keep hand cannons where they need to be. Short to medium range. Also, how are you mad they addressed the issue? You probably complain about the problem asking bungie to say something about it and then when they do you don't like what they said. I don't get it.
