Ya, Ya I know half of you already hate me but hear me out. Ok? A little bit about me first, though. This loadout is my "main" and I have many days of crucible time running this loadout, but I am by no means trying to say I am all knowing and should have the final say on this topic. I'll link my destinytracker stats at the bottom of anyone is interested. If you disagree with me, that's fine I'm open to your opinion, too. This is going to be long so get ready. I'll also put a TL;DR at the end, but read the specifics if you would like to counter me please it will be helpful to both of us.
I'll start with the most controversial topic first; that being The Last Word. I think if it stayed exactly how it is now it would be fine, but in my opinion Bungie needs to return the extra precision damage while hip-firing. I say this because the gun is meant to be hip-fired and currently the bonuses you get from hip-firing just aren't worth it. The counter to this damage is that even with the accuracy and stability buff the shots are unreliable at best. I have over 10k kills with this gun and I'd say that maybe 500 of them are two taps while hip-firing. It happened way less than people made it out to be. Now, before you flame me in the comments, when I say add it back I don't think it should two tap, even with aggressive ballistics. I think 85-90 precision damage would be a good middle ground between the old and new Last Word. This change would not affect body shot damage. I'd love to hear feedback, but worthless "Last Word is a crutch gun that needs to die" isn't helpful.
Now, onto the sniper. I snipe. A lot. In fact I have a soon-to-be competitive team and I snipe for it. I'm sure it's not going to surprise anyone when I say Snipers are not OP. So, to back up my bold statement I'd ask, well, what are the main arguments against snipers?
It's too easy to snipe while being shot.
From my experience this argument comes mostly from the scout/pulse crowd and it's a fair argument, but, I've found in many cases the only time it's possible to pull off a countersnipe like that is if you are either 1) extremely lucky with flinch or 2) good enough to time your shot as the flinch from being shot returns to the center. Other than those two ways the only other way is to back off if you are being shot at and reengage shortly after and hit the shot before your opponent can return fire. Are any of those unreasonable? Do we, as a community really want to make it impossible to counter primaries with snipers, because if, say, you add more flinch to the point that if you are being shot the reticle won't return to the center then it's pure luck if the shot lands with no skill involved; how does that make the game better?
Snipers just sit in the back and hardscope corners.
And shotgunners just corner camp what's your point? No, but in all seriousness, yes there are a lot of hardscopers out there, but the solution to that is to learn to not walk around corners at head level. I cannot stress this enough you - 90% of the time - will not die to a hardscoper if you slide or jump around a corner.
it really is that simple
If there are any other reasons you feel that snipers need to be needed feel free to tell me below.
Strikers. The subclass that is so balanced that it looks OP compared to everything else. I'll talk about the super first. FoH can at times be a little ridiculous I'll give it that, but it is an instant super and can only be used three or four times a game if you are getting plenty of kills, so is it really that terrible to have a SUPER be a little ridiculous? Now, for the real "issue" people seem to have with striker. Shoulder Charge and Juggernought. I don't personally use juggernought so it's not my place to say whether it feels too strong or weak, but it's fairly simple to counter. It has about 100hp, so it goes down in one sniper shot, and sometimes the shot goes through it, although that seems to be a glitch, or 2-3 TLW shots leaving plenty in the clip to finish him/her off. I think, emphasis on think, that it takes about 1 and a half bursts of pulse rifles to take it down or 3 Mida shots. I personally wouldn't be against a juggernought nerf, but I don't use it so it won't really affect me, and I don't have any good ideas in ways to nerf it. I'll leave that up to Bungie. Shoulder Charge, on the other hand, I use religiously. The main point people use against it is, why should Titans get a one hit melee? I counter with, why do hunters get a one hit melee AKA backstab. I'm not dumb, I know there's a difference between backstabbing someone and shoulder charging them, but look at it this way; in order to backstab you have to get behind someone (obviously), and in order to shoulder charge you have to get a running start, plus SC won't even consistently one hit people. It does exactly 200 damage and with high armor builds you can tank that much damage. No one can tank 367 or however much backstab does. One thing about lightning grenades before I close out. Dying from full health to a lightning grenade is a lot like those scenes in movies that you are yelling at the character to just run sideways from the falling tree instead of parallel with it.
Ya feel?
In conclusion if you made it here you are dedicated, so congrats! I think the main reason people call for nerfs to the aforementioned weapons and abilities, is because a lot of the other things in the game are underpowered or that they just don't fully understand what they are complaining about.
TL;DR
TLW is broken but not for the reasons most people think
Snipers aren't broken, people are just predictable
Striker isn't broken, it's just balanced better than the other classes
I could've gone on a lot longer tbh. Feel free to ask me about other things.

Edit: Ignore my warlock's stats I just recently restarted her and I haven't played seriously, just messing around with old guns and playing stupidly for some laughs lol
If your account is 75% shotgun kills don't bother this post isn't about you lol
3 답변Listen dude, you have the right to use whatever you want. It's YOUR game. YOU bought it with YOUR money. You own it. All I have to say is that playing the meta upsets so many players and ruins the game for them. I just think that it's selfish to have fun while ruining people's dreams. I can understand it if it's trials or they're using the meta guns but otherwise it's just mean. That's how I look at it anyways... If you have a different POV then please tell me I would love to hear it. (No sarcasm everything I just said I mean).

10 답변My biggest problem with snipers is that they should not be able to kill from close range. I don't care how rare it is, someone should not be able to kill me from 10 feet away with a sniper.

1 답변You are the poster boy of using every single easy mode way of playing this game. Hey my friend you payed your money to play this game and have a right to use whatever load out that you perform best with and enjoy. That wall of text you wrote trying to justify your choices of weapons seems to be you trying to convince yourself that you are doing things much harder than they really are. I would say you are exactly that player that frustrates many players with your awesome skill with all the cheese ball weapons.

3 답변A Titan that uses a Sniper Rifle in Crucible is just absolutely disgusting to me, using High Impact Shotguns is also stupid to me just cause it's too easy. I prefer using weapons outside the Meta because it's more of a challenge.

12 답변TLW+Sniper is the "crutch" loadout. Its all you see in trials, and I don't even play ToO, but watch any streamer on a weekend and 9 out of 10 times thats the loadout they're using..its garbage.

4 답변So let me guess body shot by sniper and switching to TLW and putting that 1 bullet is completely balanced...

1 답변Not many people use the last word to be honest. I have used it since year one and am a day one player ive played pre nerf and post nerf and adjustments. The last word i dont use use for its high ability to kill. I use it because ive grown comfortable with it and know my shots relaiably. The last word has actually gotten worse with the hand cannon nerfs. And any last word user whos used since year one can atest to that. Nerfing it wont take it out because people like me will still use it and still top leaderboards. The fact of the matter is its one of the fastest firing damage per second weapon. But only at close range due to ghost shots and fly away bullets. Finalas peril is way deadlier in my opinion. Two shots to kill and causes a whole lot of flinch. Crazy stability and decent range. Compared to the last word, in a match i smash those users. People should complain more about shotgun sliding or coming around the corner only to die by shoulder charge of a titan charging through the map until he one hit kills you. So dont knock last word. As it has been said before. Get good son. Better weapons with good perks will counter TLW just fine
-
3 답변Naw Naw instead of buffing Last Word while hipfiring they need to nerf it while ads. No more fanfire unless it's from the hip, then just remove the last word perk altogether. I mean let's be honest here fanfire down sights makes absolutely no sense anyways and that's still a crazy powerful exotic perk.
-
1 답변Sign if you want The Last Word removed the game, let's see what everyone will use then. If year 3 comes out and everyone is ms till using the gun, it will be pathetic

People dont realize flinch can actually correct a snipers aim if its on the body and bring the reticle to the head. The fact is anyone that gets killed by a sniper that they engage can only speculate what really happened. There is no killcam, so its all guess work. With regards to hardscopers (the way the sniper was intended to be used) nailed it again. It really IS that simple lol. Tbh the whole thing is spot on lol.

I don't have a problem with either TLW or sniper, or the combo of the two. I sort of think hand cannons are in a good spot at the moment and while I see the sense of running TLW with a longbow or 1k stare - equally I see alot of other hand cannon combos out there too (I run a hand cannon/ fusion rifle combo on one charcter that does ok). Yeah - there are a lot of players with TLW, but equally I come across a lot of lord high fixers, F peril, and eyasluna HC as well. Re the sniping - it is what it is. You adapt, stay out of the lanes, etc. Its a distance weapon which means trying to use a auto, scout, hand cannon, fusion, etc - all of that is pointless if you can't get close enough in the first place. You can try geting off a few shots with a long range scout that should get the kill (especially with scouts that have high impact and low drop off) - but one shot from a sniper and its all over so the best option is just not to engage (and it seems like in the past few months PVP has a lot less rush and more stand off and camp). Funnily enough had a game the other night with no snipers - there were all sorts of primaries in use in same game (HC, scouts, pulse rifles, autos, etc). Great fun.. Bascially it comes down to how bungie and players want to play the game. Open maps with hard scoping snipers means less close quater engagement - it just does, which can be a bit of shame as there are some great weapons that could be a lot of fun to use if players could just get close enough - but for now, stay out of the lanes, wait for the small maps with less room, etc. All good.

작성자: WhitEWatchEs 9/8/2016 12:37:32 AMUsually the bladedancer TLW+sniper combo is what annoys me. They get the body shot and switch to primary to finish off the kill. I ran into a team in salvage of 3 of them, and all they did was body shot, QuickDraw to primary, and one shot. I forgot to add that I'm not saying it needs a nerf. I'm simply saying that is one of the few things that gets me tilted in destiny.

1 답변I'm not the best crucible player obviously. My play style is run like a fool into as many people as I can spamming grenades and bullets. That said, I actually never have had an issue with a striker Titan using that particular setup. Fascinating.

8 답변TLW needs a severe recoil increase while aiming, damage drop off harsher/faster, and you get bonus range while hipfiring while also slowing the swap speed.

2 답변As warlock main I have this to say.
its just a S.Titan who decided to equip TLW & Sniper the same argument can be said to any other class in Destiny. e.g TLW & Sniper shade step wombo Hunter or MIDA & shotgun thunder strike Warlock. Are they OP no so is the Titan. What I'm trying to say is Ever class is fine no more nerfs.
10 답변Snipers are not broken, at all. The last word was only broken when it could shoot cross map - it's a close quarters weapon. I don't see this anymore, but I don't use it. It isn't overpowered, but whether it's underpowered or not I'll let its users decide. Striker. Not broken, at all. It's just that the other subclasses were nerfed to the point that the only balanced subclass looks op.

6 답변The last word doesn't need a buff.. Also the amount of times I have been midway through a burst on a snipers head, to just have me dome me is ridiculous. It is fully the most frustrating thing ever🤔
-
1 답변The last word is fine. No need for extra crit damage. A bad player can be good with it and a good player can be pro and a pro can be a god. Like it or not. So its balanced for everyone. As for snipers you gotta be dumb to get killed by a sniper everytime. Snipers arent op in destiny but destiny aim assist is. Like it or not. Its so high but eh i could care less. As for Striker it is balanced but your argument with shoulder charge and backstab i dont agree with. You can pre sprint in a wall and shoulder charge in corners and it really doesn't have a cool down unless you call not sprinting its cool down. Back stab is a melee charge so you cant spam it and you have to be behind them.
-
2 답변IMO, just make it so you can't fanfire while ADS...if you ADS it shoots like any normal HC. Give TLW it's precision buff back in full effect.
-
4 답변작성자: UFSman 9/7/2016 8:07:07 AMSo a gun should do more damage when being hip fired than if it was fired normally makes sense right? God some people needs a buff so you will hip fire more really now on to snipers the problem is that sniper has a very quick scope time and over all time to kill is shorter than all but one of the primary gun so I would still suggest Nerfing scope time in order to make it a long range gun and add movement sway so the scope does not stay centre unless you are stood still for 0.5 seconds as well as adding a bigger finich you will only see a change of the meta when something kills fast than a sniper or shotgun.

1 답변I watched the latest FARCOG tournament finals and there was only one striker Titan, one bladedancer, one nightstalker, two void locks, and one stormlock. That gives me a pretty indication that it's basically just preference. The last word is garbage right now but I don't mind because it's over used and the only thing wrong with snipers are they need to be less effective up close. A primary should have a distinct advantage within close range and right now they don't because you can get double tapped or teamshot like nothing
-
1 답변As a day 1 Titan main, classes get buffs and nerfed, and people will complain regardless, Titans have been the same from the start, other than the increased melee range buff that still give Titans a shorter range than both Hunters and Warlocks, nothing much has changed since Solar class was introduced and even that got a nerf. Titan skating was just something that popped up, it's not a cheese and honestly does nothing to make an individual better in PVP, if you suck, guess what? You suck, change up your tactics! Plus you other classes go cry wolf somewhere else with your tracking grenades, 10 yard reach melees, blink (it's still annoying), panic Nova bombs, overshields with a melee hit, invisibility, shadestep and a whole team killing Arc blades! I

8 답변Well, I have a lot of shotgun kills, but lately I've been sniping. I've never really camped except when sniping, and my "camping" if you'd call it that, is when I'm in a stalemate with another sniper who is waiting for me to run out. Sniping is great and fun, anyways, moving on to Shoulder Charge. I'm in no way a Titan main, although after I created a Titan, it was hard not to fall for those super cool subclasses. As a Titan I feel overpowered, all the time. My Titan had a better K/D than my old hunter(just erased my hunter, but it probably had about 71 days of playtime). I'm not the best crucible player, but I do play by logic and with fun. I don't corner camp with a shotgun, even when a wall is dividing me and an opposing shotgunner, my first instinct is to throw a grenade to dominate his area and push him out of there. Snipers, it's different. There's no real way to counter an above average sniper. I snipe people who run or slide or even jump out of cover, but don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for a sniper nerf, I think it's good so that people can adapt to sniping instead of not sniping because "sniping is for campers" or "sniping is for unskilled players". It's not. It took me a lot of hard work to become the average, mostly crappy sniper I am. I've only pulled of like 2 close range no scopes, not that cool. My problem is the Titans juggernaut and shoulder charge. Shoulder Charge should take a melee hit charge also, because it usually is a one hit kill. The only one who can counter a shoulder charge is another Striker maxing out armor, and that's VERY stupid. It would lessen the use of shoulder charge, I hate when I have a shotgun and someone doesn't, and they just run against a wall and shoulder charge where I'm in. It's like having a primary, a secondary that's not a shotgun, and a shotgun. That's unfair. Juggernaut should just be nerfed in health. Honestly, the shield is sometimes so extra. Doesn't matter what I do, they will always demolish me due to the fact that, yes, they have a shield I must shoot down first, and consequently when I'm done, I'm already getting shotgunned in the face. The Lightning grenade has to be nerfed not in damage, but the radius from left and right. I've been about five feet beside one and it still kills me, and no, not in front, BESIDE IT. Other than that, Striker is in a good place, and they really just need to get rid of Juggernaut, it's so extra. I've used it and did not find it appealing, and shoulder charge isn't appealing to me. So there ya have it. Sorry for the long post.
