Actually its a warlock trademark to take form over function way too seriously. Why do we transform our arms into flames? Because it looks cool. Why do we dissolve our heads into nothing but pure space dust? Aesthetic.

I'd probably lose my arm, but the bond looks too nice, and it's the symbol of everlasting friendship between Warlocks like me and Momnigul. She only gives it to Warlocks that touched her heart. I don't want to disappoint her by taking it off.
