EDIT: The fact that I'm talking about HEROIC strikes should be abundantly clear, given the fact that i make approximaty 500,000 references to SOLAR damage and none to void.
Title.
Want to know why?
Because literally -blam!-ing EVERYTHING does insane amounts of solar burn damage.
Psions? Have fun getting killed in .000004 seconds by the 500 of them that are now "teabagging" your ghost.
Legionaries? I hope you weren't comfortable behind that wall, 'cuz we've got splash damage!
Phalanxes? If you somehow survive the solar artillery, you're just going to get killed by the physics bullshit that still hasn't been fixed despite being present for 2 years.
Centurions? We heard you like splash damage, so we added some more solar splash damage to the already splashy solar damage!
Valus Mau'ual? Hah, cute solar burn you've got there. It would be a shame if this was a big circular room with literally nothing to hide behind...
Valus Tu'aurc? Now comes with 200% more Rockets and 300% more McDickface, free of charge.
But wait, there's more! Call now and we'll add chaff to your order, meaning you'll be under deadly solar assault from all directions, completely unaware of where the -blam!- you're getting shot from!
"Whether we wanted it or not, we-"
Nooooope.

Edit 2: Maybe strikes other than shield brothers won't be so bad.
After spending literally 30 minutes in the Shield Brothers boss room with two incompetent -blam!-s that don't grasp the concept of SOLAR burn, I just left and couldn't be bothered starting a new strike.
I used Celestial Nighthawk and Raze Ligter. I had a solar sidearm (no other legendary solar specials, due to RNG always dropping void gear for me).
My teammates? A striker (he did practically nothing) and a nightstalker (only helpful for the ONE time he used shadowshot, which was on adds in the Tank fight.) NONE of them had a single source of solar damage equipped.
Needless to say, after the umpteenth wipe caused by the 15,000 solar damage Psion Burners they didn't help kill, I gave up on them.
I only threw in that part about the Valus strike intro because it's the one most people will recognize on sight.
Edit 2: Those comparing it to Y1 Arc Burn Omnigul nightfall can stop. For two reasons:
One, that week was easy as shit. There are plenty of safe spots to chill and cheese the boss. Arc Omnigul was my first nightfall, and we only wiped once in the boss room. (Restarting was annoying, but meh.)Plus, Atc primaries were a thing (not that I had any at the time, I didn't raud 'till HoW).
Two, Y1 nightfalls actually gave loot. They were worth the challenge. Heroic strikes don't, and so they aren't. Plain and simple.

10 답변Please dude... I ran Valus solo as a nightfall so many times in year 1 with solar burn when he was still a bullet-sponge. I wish I could say I'm kidding, but I'm not. Didn't help that you NEEDED something void for Psion shields... AKA Praedyth's Revenge and Atheon's Epilogue. Serious juggling of solar and void.
Icebreaker FTW
3 답변Remember Y1 arc burn Omnigul with arc burn and light switch. I ain't afraid of some Cabal.

1 답변I don't understand why people use things that are not with the weekly burn, what kind of autism they have?

1 답변Everyone always mentions which solar weapons they use, and all are good choices. Some mention offensive armor options like sunbreaker gauntlets or armentarium for grenades, and that's good too. I would like to contribute my opinion on defensive armor. Choose a chest piece that gives you extra solar armor if you are running a solar subclass or solar splash damage resistance if you are not running a solar subclass. That extra armor, especially when used on a legendary chest piece, paired with a max armor build on your subclass skill tree will save you from being one shot many times, leaving you with a hair of health to seek cover and regenerate your health. Hope that helps.

The only Cabal strike that will give people trouble this week is Shield Brothers as there is zero cover. You have to make sure to drop the ads as soon as they spawn. The first time I ran it today the randoms kept dropping Mortar first.
