Hello all,
We are actively investigating player reports regarding recent TAPIR Errors received by players on all platforms. We have identified the cause of this issue and are working diligently to reach a resolution.
This thread will be updated with new information as it becomes available. If you have encountered this issue, please Comment in this thread with your PSN ID/ Xbox Gamertag, as well as exactly which console you have received this error on.

I played Destiny on my ps3 since it came out and now I'm trying to play it on my ps4, but I can't cuz I get this fun error code "TAPIR" and not one person in/on Bungie is helping or even trying to help. Makes me feel real confident about buying anymore of your games or even silver or whatever else you peddle. ~ How long does it take to "INVESTIGATE ERROR CODE TAPIR?" @BNGHelp6 said "TAPIR just happens to be the error code that shows up when Destiny might be down for maintenance." Yet no one can tell me if it's actually maintenance that's causing the error. It's just a convenient guesstimate. "Whatever shuts the gamer up." ~ How long does "MAINTENANCE" take? A week, month, year, decade? At this point I might as well use the Destiny game disc as a coaster at least I get some use out of it... I'd appreciate some answers, some help, SOMETHING! You have my money for 2 destiny games and DLC's for ps3 and ps4 now I need your help! If you were a gamer you'd understand how infuriating this whole process is. I finally got past the "Critical Account Update" and "Error Code TAPIR." BTW it's not maintenance, it's just Bungie's lazy way of saying figure it out yourself and sadly I had no other choice! 🤬

I went from xbox 360 to xbox one ... I bought again the game Destiny and when I try to import my characters I get the error message "Tapir". Please help!!! I have read a lot of messages and no response from you guys. Why happen with the support???

I buy DESTINY ONE I’m so happy that I can go back to the older days back to my old Xbox 360 account than I read the message about account transfer and I accepted it and I was really happy that it’s that easy but NO I see a error code tapir I spent a week trying to get it fixed looking at everything reddit Twitter bungie Facebook it all and I’m just about to give up on destiny my favorite game can’t even play my favorite game If you have tips please help me bc it’s making me just want to quit

Just bought this game for PS4 and I'm having the same issue. After pressing start I'm taken to a "Critical Account Update" which I have accepted several times. After accepting I get the "tapir" error. Looks like this has been an issue for quite a while now - wish I would have known that before purchasing the game I can't play.

I have reinstated Destiny on ps4 several times over the last week to get around the error code TAPIR. Each time still no luck and lots of wasted time.What's the fix? It's crazy that this error is still popping up from years ago.

I installed the XBox One "The Collection" which includes Rise Of Iron and redeemed the code. I accept the account import by holding the "A" button and it attempts to log in. Tried on 11/06/2018 11/07, 11/08, 11/09, 11/10, 11/11 and today (11/12). I have tried to clear the cache (switched to energy-saving mode, unplugged for at least 5 minutes; even hit the power switch when unplugged). I was able to transfer my account 11/18. TY

Never owned Destiny on a legacy console. Tapir is still not resolved. Network engineer here with 100 mb dedicated line. Can't see spending more money if none of it is going to be spent on network stability by you guys. You already cheapened it by using peer to peer connections.
