Good afternoon guardians.
I am preparing to upgrade to the current generation console before Rise of Iron and I had a couple hopefully simple questions regarding the shift.
I understand the steps for the account import to bring my PS3 data to PS4, which includes my Destiny progress and purchased expansions. Because I already own all the expansions on PS3, I have determined the cheapest and easiest route in moving up would be to purchase the Destiny: Collections Upgrade which includes all of the expansions including the Taken King and even the Rise of Iron pre-order (which includes the Iron Gjallarhorn and Iron Gjallarwing of course) for only $40 as opposed to the far more expensive manual route of purchasing the physical base game for PS4 (and carrying over the first two expansions automatically through the account import), the Taken King expansion, and then the Rise of Iron Pre-order.
This leads to question 1: The Destiny: Collections Upgrade is purely a digital purchase. Does this mean I still need a physical disc to play the game like I have it currently on PS3, or is that digital upgrade all I need? I feel it is, but it's better to ask.
Second, I understand that once I perform the account import my Destiny progress on the two consoles is not shared. Since the Destiny: Collections Upgrade is technically a pre-order purchase and says it will be available on September 20, will I be able to play the Taken King and other expansions immediately upon receiving my PS4 and applying the purchase? If not, then it makes sense to continue playing on PS3 as long as possible before applying the account import.
My apologies for the long, possibly rambling and detail-heavy post, I'm just hoping to get as much detail on possible on what exactly I'm doing before I go ahead and do it. Thank you all for your help.

1 답변The Collection is an all inclusive package. Purchasing a digital copy of the Collection, includes a digital base game, allowing play without a disc in the console. The Collection has a play it now feature for the year 1 and 2 content, allowing access to everything through TTK as soon as you purchase and install it.

And I'm pretty sure it counts as a complete digital collection so once you download the whole game (mine says 18 gigs) you should be able to play without the disc. That's why I bought it to be honest, just need to download tonight to confirm.
