I feel like rockets need a Damage boost in PVE. Snipers seem to be the better choice for DPS at the moment and this just feels unbalanced.

1 답변Let's take a look at the got-old-fast Taken boss that appears: I shoot 6 rockets at the boss about 1/4 of its health is lost. I land 6 sniper headshots and take off nearly half its health. Something is wrong. Heavy weapons should do heavy damage.

22 답변Or just finally balance Snipers so that every Special weapon feels useable. This has been needed on the PvP side since day 1. Making them harder to use at close and medium ranges would push guardians to use other Special Weapons at those ranges. Snipers have been used as close range weapons in both PvE and PvP since day 1 and yet haven't even been touched. This is the oldest meta in the game.

1 답변I could never justify using one due to the ammo nerf. A small damage buff would make them a much more attractive choice.

The way I see it, is rockets are immediate high damage area of effect weapons. They're suited for crowd control and vehicles (if we actually used them). They aren't suitable for DoT, nor for when you're attacking a boss for critical damage. They may need a damage boost, but they aren't suited for damage over time like a sniper, machine gun or Sleeper Simulant.

2 답변Really? Matches I play people seem to have no problem killing with rockets From my perspective it feels like more are moving away from machine guns towatds rockets - heck I'm seeing more guys using swords too

I agree with this. I much preferred the days of Y1 when rockets were good at crowd control and held their own when you could hit single targets for big damage as well. Snipers should NOT be the only good DPS tool that we have. Machine guns seem to fit the bill except for bad reload times and you have to have enough space to operate to just sit there and hold the trigger while you keep locked on your target. Even if they weren't great on ALL single boss targets, it would be great to have a game modifier kind similar to the skull in halo that doubles blast radius for rockets/grenades and increases their damage output. It would be fun for nightfalls, etc. (but remember it would cut both ways!)

3 답변Rocket for DPS is using them wrong. They are an area clearer and for quick burst damage, not for DPS. Didn't they recieve a Damage buff and AoE buff at the same time of the Gjallarhorn nerf?

I feel like there in a perfect spot. There an explosive weapon meant for damage in a large area. Not for precise, piercing damage. Snipers (especially Black Spindle, or a sniper with triple tap) are best for boss DPS. Sleeper is the most amazing boss killer too.
