Cosmetic items should not effect a players light level. We should be able to use any class item and ghost shell to customize our guardians and make them look however we want them to look.
Class items and ghost shells should also have kiosks in the tower so players can collect them and free up vault space, which will help a lot since vault space will not be increased in rise of iron.

While I think adding class item, and ghost kiosks (along with one for event items) would be nice, with infusion being a thing I don't really see the need for removing the Light values from the items. If your problem is because you like using Rare quality items, I feel like a better solution is to allow all rarities of gear to be infused.

Conjured this up a while ago, but it never gained any traction. Figured I'd leave it here due to relevancy. When I first heard The Taken King was going to feature new Ghost Shells, I was ecstatic. Finally, after months of looking at the same old Ghost, my little lifeline could show some flair while saving me from death's embrace. Oh how I was disappointed when the launch of The Taken King brought stat values to what was once an optional shader for my little light. Yes, a shader. Ghost Shells were once the equivalent of an armor shader; a cosmetic option. Imagine, if you will, having stat values tied to actual armor shaders. It wouldn't matter if you preferred Chatter White to Bone Marrow, you'd wear Bone Marrow because it would most certainly offer higher stat values. Unfortunately, that is the circumstance Ghost Shells have fallen into. Forced to either choose between the few Legendary Shells capable of supporting your light, or suffer because perhaps you really like that Blue Spine Shell. This cannot be. Players should not be punished because they prefer a Ghost with different adornments, and/or different colors. The Frontier Ghost Shell tells us Ghosts can self modify at will, alter their appearance in any way they please, whenever they please. So why is it that when my Ghost "self modifies" to blue, Dregs shrug off my bullets, but upon modifying to imitate chocolate, even their Captains wilt in my presence? Like armor shaders, Ghost Shells were once shaders for Ghosts. They were a varied, cosmetic option, as was intended, and that is how they should be. Signed, a frustrated Gyaosblade.

My problem is, even though you have let's say, 335 Primary, secondary, and heavy, and you decide to equip a full set of year 1 armor or some greens or something, then that ties in with having to deal damage to enemies. You have 335 weapons, but the Destiny Gods be damned when you equip lesser armor you can't do jack shit for damage. Makes no sense, huh?

Your argument is not very good, in fact because of infusion, it begs the question of "why have light on any armor?" Because we can choose to use any legendary gear set to reach max light, and all legendaries can drop with any perk for that piece - all gauntlets have the same perk tree, for example. And we grind and infuse to get the look we want, as well as the perks. And since class items actually do something (like we asked for back in y1), they fall into the same category.

Class items are important for perk build tree's currently and ghost shells reflect your strongest potential ghost. No. I'd instead suggest you have more options and possibilities to get ghost shells, but they should remain an integral part of our guardians. Your class has it's backstory and your ghost is the only thing keeping you alive when you perish. Those should remain key aspects of all guardians light builds...

7 답변Which is why we have infusion. . . You earn whatever ghost shell and then use it to upgrade a more attractive shell. Problem solved.

14 답변Should we also remove light level off of armor pieces as well? Because by your logic we should remove it because we should be able to customize our guardians

1. They are not purely cosmetic since they do have stats that effect the game, and not just light. 2. You can use any shell or class item, so long as it's Y3 eligible. 3. We don't need anymore dang kiosks. We have enough vault space. If I have managed to go from alpha to now with 3 max-light characters and haven't even used half my space, people are okay and need to quit whining about vault space. (Not saying you were the one whining. You weren't.)
