For me, the most unforgivable thing was removing reforging of weapons. No elaborate writing needed. It was a shitty, shitty move.

I feel like Bungie removed reforging to make it harder to get God-roll op weapons, but I'm kind of glad that Bungie removed reforging because when I could reforge any gun I wanted, I wouldn't get any excitement out of getting a legendary weapon because I already had the same gun but with a roll I liked from reforging. Now, at least every legendary you get has a mystery factor that makes me want to get them just in case they had an amazing roll.

I see you're point of view. However, having twice the amount of time played as you (by my own choosing), I'm losing any optimism that I'll get "X" weapon with the roll I want. This has created a general distaste for the game, which has resulted in me not playing. During the reforge era, I tried out every single weapon I got from a drop. If it had decent perks, I'd play to level it. If I wanted different perks, I'd re-roll it until I got the roll I wanted. Sometimes that meant running out of materials or weapon parts. So I'd have to grind to get $$ and materials. I never had "nothing to do" so to speak. I then would have to play to level up the weapon. Now, so many weapons get dismantled immediately. Granted, I have or have had nearly every gun in the game, with the exception of Trials weapons. (I just suck at Trials, regular PvP not too bad.) There's literally no reason to play for me anymore until IB comes around and then RoI.
