the red bar issues in Crucible?????
All the new gametypes and new gear, and all that stuff is great, and sounds like you have put a lot of thought into it, HOWEVER I do not plan on spending a dime on the new game until someone comes out and tells me / us what is being done to reduce the amount of red bar issues we encounter when playing both Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris.
The last Iron Banner was one of the worst I have seen since I started playing way back in the beginning. I had at least one red bar in every game. And especially in Trials, when there is such an emphasis on winning games, you cannot compete against red bars, making it a very frustrating way to lose a game and get knocked out of the chance to get to the elusive 9-0.
I love this game, but the frustration caused by the red bars make it very hard to commit to another couple years and more $ spent on a product that has some issues that seem to be ignored for the most part.
Thanks,

Clearly Bungie have a weak system if someone from the outside can directly influence the game. I've seen many video's on this very site of people doing it and instead of the issue's seemingly being addressed it turn's into a thread deletion because of name and shame rule breaking. Bungie need to deal with their systems and stop this happening. After that then maybe we wont see as much and then we can see how much unintended red barring is occurring. Im with you OP, it's becoming frustrating. If myself or any of my clan mate's see red barring in a game that is clearly influencing the result we just leave and report the player/players, but feel the reporting does nothing. If we all did this surely Bungie will need to act. As for Trials, well Im not skilled enough to go flawless anyway and refuse to pay streamers to carry me. Begs the question, how do these very popular streamers sitting under Bungie's wing get around the red barring in Trials? Just asking.....

Bungie could have the greatest Pvp setup on earth but they still wouldn't be able to dictate what happens to data packets between your house and the game host. Dedicated servers is the only answer to most of the issues but even then you still cannot control the Internet. If person A doesnt talk to a server as quickly as person B, there could still be issues. No game is perfect. You still lag out. I'd wager that we won't see dedicated servers until D2 at least, unless that's the secret of course and they use Rise of Iron as a live play test. TL:DR: red barring is pants but bungie cannot control everything that contributes to it in destinys current setup so don't expect a magic fix

I don't understand why people keep on making these stupid threads again and again when it is well clear that Bungie is not going to fix these issues at least before Destiny 2. People seem to have a lot of time to waste just making useless posts.

Yea I lag as well, the minute I hit a red bar I switch games to only find that I have good connection and can play that game. Yea yea I know its off you connecting to other players, but I'm just saying. No issues in other games.

Here's an idea child. You can pay the cost of better internet for me. I would imagine your parents are paying for yours. Some of use have real life bills. Children, vehicles, houses, etc, to pay for. Ultra high speed internet is definitely not at the top of the list.
until the costs come down, my barely DSL connection will have to do.
Unfortunately because bungie are cheap skates as are cashdivision they choose not to use dedicated servers, so we the customers have to suffer with the bs. The problem with peer 2 peer is as the player base gets smaller the connection s get worse as there are fewer players for the game to find. Connections will improve again when the dlc drops but don't expect it to last long.

Even CBMM wouldn't eliminate it, since all it would take is one hiccup somewhere in the system and you'd have a red bar. Even dedicated servers don't reduce lag if there's a bottleneck somewhere, they just make it less likely. I do think a lot of people either exaggerate the lag-forum hive mind-or don't realize they're the cause. But really, the only solution to minimizing lag as much as possible is dedicated servers. At least then only one person is lagging, not the whole fireteam.

Maybe your latency is seriously just too high and you don't even know. Or you play wireless connection which is a big no no. But to have every iron banner happen like that is something on your end more than anything.

Until Bungie goes to dedicated servers (Which almost certainly won't happen before Destiny 2 because it would require a huge investment in servers, and a massive rewrite of the game's coding)..... ...not much. The P2P networking that Bungie uses---while flexible and cheap----is volative and requires much more bandwith than does dedicated servers. So there is not much Bungie can do if someone insist on playing in the Crucible, and doesn't have internet that can support 1Mbps upload speeds. They are GOING to redbar and other latency/lag problems. Bungie also can't over come the fact that the game is in a lull...and fewer people are playing it. So the odds of finding someone close to you (low ping time) to play in PVP aren't as high as they used to be.
