You can never truly counter a sniper.

Because baby sitting radar from afar is a joke. The drag scoping, and qs is a joke. The very little flinch they take is a joke. Higher impact weapons need to inflict higher flinch. Add sniper sway, or hold breath. Make sniping actually sniping and not this baby sitting radar hard scoping thing. Add all of these and get rid of the light that appears when ads so it's actually stealthy sniping somewhat. Sniping that is harder to pull off the one hit kill but more hidden or unpredictable. Sniping as of now is a light show of speedy flicking the wrist first, when it should be more hidden out of sight, but at the tradeoff of being much harder to hit the one hit kill. Baby sitting radar in trials alone is a joke. Flanking is nonexistent

    • The problem is that snipers only need one shot, and that one shot is too easy to pull off. You could be hailing them down at mid range with a bullet house auto rifle and they'll still kill you anyway.

        No no man snipers are fine this isn't call of duty but there is an issue with there not being many counter sniper primaries. Primaries in general should just offer higher flinch towards snipers that are ADS

        • personally i think snipers are fine, its all about the person using the gun. I mean, people were complaining heavily about snipers before they nerfed their handling, ammo capacity, and scope zoom levels. I snipe a lot and it heavily affected my accuracy and how quick i was able to move my scope to get targets for the better portion of 3 months I would say. I kept playing and ive gotten used to them again. I finally feel like im back to where I was before the nerf. Its not a balance problem. Some people are just skilled with snipers. TLDR: they can nerf them all they want and people are only going to keep complaining when the snipers get used to them again. TLDR2; the only way people are going to stop complaining about snipers is if they make them literally unusable.

            • I love how it's all fun and games as everything else gets nerfed, and now that the nerfbat is leaning towards Sniper Rifles it's all of the sudden "Don't nerf Sniper Rifles! Just buff everything else!"

                I have to disagree completely, flanking is most definitely an option, in fact the maps in destiny are so poorly designed for sniping there's much opportunity for countering them, and if there is a good sniper, stay out his way and take different approaches.

                Ya you really cant I don't care what anyone say snipers should reward actual skill not be allowed to still headshot while under fire, it's so stupid to have a sniper almost dead but they can still pull off headshots like it's nothing.

                • Snipers need to suffer huge kick when they're shot. No way a sniper stay on target through high power scope if they're shot. Duh.

                • Pop in and out of cover, don't give them a standing or strafing target lol, don't get me wrong strafing is a viable strategy but not if you just staying in the open. there are lots of counters, and as someone already commented, use snipers and you'll learn the little things that mess with a sniper. And unless they are somewhat aggressive and move around the map often, flanking becomes a cakewalk. Even if they are aggressive something as simple as popping out and then back in cover when you see a red glint, then popping out while crouching can mess with the sniper because he's trained at head lvl. It's not as troublesome as your making it out to be. Boils down to map awareness and your ability to see a threat and challenge it accordingly not cut and paste your one way you go about things for every situation in this game.

                  • Flinch moves the same way every time and re-centers in a consistent and timely way. People have gotten used to using a poorly implemented and predictable mechanic instead of actual gun skill. There are situations that should allow any medium to long range primary to [b]counter[/b] a sniper. The problem is that no sniper will run from that fight because the current flinch makes it a very low risk activity because they know they just have to wait for the flinch to re-center. Flinch movement needs to be randomized and not re-center. This would mean that actual thumb skill (Something Bungie talk about wanting to promote) is needed to reacquire your target instead of timing a broken mechanic.

                    • They should buff all primaries to have more flinch and a slightly faster TTK across the board. Some under performing primary types should get a buff. Shotguns should have [b]zero[/b] phantom bullets ((shotgun users know this)) Fusions should get crit damage when they hit the head. Introduce new special weapon SMG basically a full auto sidearm with 20-25 bullets that can't regen bullets on respawn. Do that and snipers shouldn't be a problem unless the Gradian behind it is skilled. [spoiler]sorry for my bad English it's my 2nd language [/spoiler]

                      • So you whined about people that Quick Scope, Drag Scope and Hard Scope... how else are they meant to snipe. That's what sniping is about. It really annoys me when people whine about hard scoping, like, that's a snipers job.

                        • Snipers take a ton of flinch, try HCR or Explosive rounds if you're really having a problem flinching them.

                            Get out there with a sniper and hit 5+ k/d every match. Dome EVERY person that puts you under sustained fire. Headshot EVERYONE through the flinch that everyone claims doesn't exist. This game has THE worst community I've ever been apart of. Everything that kills you needs to be nerfed. If everything is so broken and needs nerfed then QUIT. The Crucible is nothing compared to what it was in year one. There's no more two bursting PR's. No more two shotting hc's aside from ones with LiTC. No more final round snipers. No more more shotpackage. Almost all the subclasses have been nerfed to hell. How many more things need to be nerfed ? Seriously when will this community suck it up and admit that chances are, they made a mistake on their own part instead of immediately blaming a gun or a subclass. You ever think for one second that maybe other things need to be buffed back to compensate ? There were VERY little sniper complaints back in year one. Want to know why ? Because primaries were actually a thing back then. But hey, you probably complained about those primaries that kept secondaries in check as well. I can't deal with this community. I've never seen so many nerf requests in a game. It's so depressing.
