NTR Hermes
STORY SO FAR:
The crew of the NTR Hermes had a tough time battling the savage natives of Planet Gydaton, but they have successfully completed their first mission for the New Terran Republic and allowed the colonists to successfully land on Gydaton, where a colony was started. The crew have went back to the Hermes for some R&R before their next mission. But unfortunately the ship was ransacked by Pirates above Gydaton, and the crew was disbanded.
Now a new crew is in space now. The NTR Crusader was a ship that was designed for all-out war, and its crew were hired for that purpose. They have been dispatched by the NTR War Council, headed by High General Jack Treyman to eliminate a threat known only as "The Afflicted," a coalition of species that have all been infected by some sort of parasite and mutated to become soldiers of war for some sort of army. Now the Crusader must go and fight them on their planet of Valinus, where it is said they made their home to raze other planets from.

New World Hope
Earth, United States West Coast, military base
Fences surrounded the perimeter of the base, Humvees and tanks rolling in and out of the main gate which was guarded by men in full suits of powered armor carrying various military grade miniguns, laser guns, and plasma guns with the occasional grunts in standard issue olive drab armor armed with rifles of the same grade. A tattered US flag mounted on a pole next to the base, a large contrast from the desolate surroundings of a destroyed world which looks even more desolate thanks to the overcast of clouds. Two guards in particular, both armed with miniguns die to their armor's exoskeleton - like qualities, both shot each other a glance befire engaging in conversation with their eyes trained on the entrance.
"You hear about that project those scientists are working on?"
"Yeah, something about resurrecting the dead, was it?"
"Yep. In my opinion it's plain immoral to play god like that don't you think?"
"It is."
"Well this is where it gets interesting: apparently the resurrected actually experience skin decay after about 6 months."
"See? It was never going to work in the first place! But how do you know this?"
"Are you blind or did you not see that guy being dragged by the hand across base? He looked like a zombie from those old movies."
He continues.
"The decay was really bad around his hands and lower arms, too."
"Are you sure that wasn't because he was being dragged by hands?"
"Might ve been. I dunno. Let's get back to our jobs."
"Yes, let's."
A twinrotor, silver VTOL flies overhead and lands on a pad with a large, yellow V in the center. Several of the soldiers abandon their stations to stand beside the stairs on both sides in single file before giving salutes with their left hands as an elderly, balding man wearing a white uniform decorated by badges steps out and walks down the center of the gap creates by the soldiers while accompanied by two guards. He then follows the guards into a small building with a metal floor and red walls with shelves holding various family photos; a single wooden desk sat in the middle of the room with a vase of flowers on the right side and a microphone in a small stand in the center. One of the bodyguards looked at the man assuring.
"It's time to give the speech, sir."
"Very well."
He replied as he cleared his throat and flipped on the microphone; his every word being broadcasted through loudspeakers scattered throughout the base.
"As most of you know: Project Savior was the biggest flop this great nation has seen since things went since some 500 years ago. We now have 'zombies' roaming around, soiling everything our ancestors once held dear in their hearts. Thankfully, we've captured most of the subjects experimented upon and they were dealt with accordingly. However, 4 either managed to hide away and hope we never catch them which we all know is just their mind comforting them with lies, or they died and their death haven't been reported yet, or they're no longer of this world and I do not mean that in a figurative sense. I mean that they have left the planet and are colonizing it with their filthy, maggot-filled, bodies. I suspect the latter as everyone who is loyal to this once great nation would've reported it to us and, as I said, they would've been dealt with.
Thankfully we have the knowledge to build a spacecraft and eliminate them with our superior technology and firepower. This is nothing all of you should be concerned with as our scientists and engineers have been hard at work. In short; we will retrieve the abominations no matter where they are and we will cleanse the world of them. That is all."
As soon as the loudspeakers turned off the soldiers patrolling the base saluted and nodded before returning to their patrols.

Randall woke up from what seemed to be a coma as his eyes slowly opened to reveal that he was in a dark room with little to no lighting except for a faint green glow from the other side of the room.
"Wh-where am I?"
His normally humorous tone had been replaced by a dry voice and a confused manner as a robotic voice replied.
"You went nowhere, sir. I just had to knock you out and you were dormant for quite some time."
Open, feel free to talk to them.
