First, I'd like to mention that this is NOT a recruitment post. This is something I think Destiny players should know. So, let's get started.
Until today, I was a filthy casual. I was Light 305, and I had no friends playing Destiny, apart from one guy I hadn't seen in two years. I'm 15, so yes, I'm a kid. I never completed a Nightfall, Raid, not even a Trials or Iron Banner match. I never experienced the thing that's called fireteam.
Not I didn't play the game often. I bought it right at release, back in 2014, and played the shit out of it. Until my account crashed. I left Destiny, only to come back when TTK already released.
I continued to play, but last month, I told to myself that I wasn't progressing anymore at Destiny, so I left. I bought Overwatch, had a good time, I still do.
But today, that old friend invited me for a Raid. I immediately joined and tried my best (the first half hour my headset didn't even work), and you know what? I had fun. Lots of fun. With 5 people I never met, I had insane amounts of fun. And we were some weird fireteam. With 3 noobs (me and two 40 year olds) and two twelve year olds wo completed the raid already multiple times.
We made it until Oryx. We tried a couple of times Challenge Mode, and we were doing okay, until one guy left. And another. And another. Luckily we already made an agreement to continue tomorrow.
There you have my story. I didn't use LFG. I didn't have any Destiny friends. We completed Warpriest first try and Sisters second try, with three noobs. I didn't even have Black Spindle or Touch of Malice!
Although I got shit loot, I'm happy. And all of you players out there, you should be like these guys. You don't need Touch of Malice or Black Spindle for Sisters and Golgoroth.
Some of you will say that I got carried. Maybe you're right. But you guys know you can't carry 3 people in King's Fall. The noobs did something. Thank you for reading and don't hesitate to comment your stories below, because elitists should not exist.

5 답변In my experience, most of the players don't understand: - how to properly transfer the aura at totems - kill Knights and yellow bars at totems - how to take Golg's gaze - platform jumping - jumping from the platforms to the sisters efficiently - the term 'counter clockwise' - how to count to 3 - how to kill their light-eater knights - that Oryx needs 1 last DPS at the end Having ToM and Spindle verify that you know some if not all aspects of this. Now go ahead and block me, but creep my raid grimoire first... I know what I speak of.

13 답변작성자: ATP 7/29/2016 2:59:53 AMGlad to hear you had fun doing it!
And all of you players out there, you should be like these guys. You don't need Touch of Malice or Black Spindle for Sisters and Golgoroth.
Fully agreed. The game is meant to be fun. You should not be forced to use a specific weapon for a specific encounter. Use whatever you want. You want to use Plan C as your exotic? Go ahead. I won't stop you, and no one should stop you. If they do force you to use a weapon, you shouldn't be in that fireteam.

10 답변I'm 17 and I prefer playing with adults around 30 years and older, I seem to have more fun and they just seem to understand if I stuff up. When I play with strangers closer to my age, all they do is bitch and complain like "How do you not know what you are doing," "you suck," and they just about blame me for everything that goes wrong. This happens for every activity I join and I also like the fact that even the adults at times are noobs and we just don't get mad at each other. The adult side of this community is the best imo

54 답변작성자: IRaidWithAussies 7/31/2016 10:26:53 AMThat;s a terrible experience. Your buddy begged you to play Destiny with him, because nobody on his friends list will. You then got teamed with people who couldn't raid properly, and admitted 12 year olds (Rated T for Teen) Then you proceeded to fail at the raid on the commonly occuring team dwindle. I don't know about you, but that's a shitty video game experience in my books "Well he had fun so it was a good experience" I'm sure some people have fun falling down a flight of stairs, it doesn't make it a good experience. You highlighted possible the worst annoying features about this game, and then pretended like it was fun. Stockholm Syndrome is in full effect you guys And then he tops it off with winning shit loot. Seriously guys. This isn't a positive experience.

Mostly everyone is "carried" one way or another in their first raids. Especially if most of the team doesn't know what to do. Confrats though, the Destiny coop experience can be very sweet and satisfying. Now kill that sumbitch Oryx and get your drops.

Some people will never understand you don't have to win big to have fun. I wish you the best of luck in continuing the fun this game has to offer. I'm sure some people in this thread have offered to add as a friend and help. There are plenty of good people to help. I would but on Xbox one.

11 답변작성자: SpakulatorX 7/30/2016 11:12:52 AMI'm only going to assume the 3 carrying you were using spindle and malice to carry you. You don't need them, if you want to be a third wheel and be carried.

Awesome man! I was the same way for the longest. The first time I got to do a raid was actually the vault of glass( I didn't start playing till Dec. 2015 just for reference ). I didn't get a thing that was worth keeping, but I had such a fun time just getting through a raid with other peeps that I didn't care. The first time( and one of only two so far ) I was a part of beating Oryx, I remember feeling so good. That's the heart of this game, cooperation with other people.

I thought there was going to be more to the story honestly. Lol. Anyway, that's really great that you completed the raid. I don't do it so often any more but when I do I never use spindle or malice. Alot of people get mad at me. Whenever we have to wipe someone would say "if you were using spindle this wouldn't have happen." I guess using spindle somehow directly correlates with getting killed by a thrall. Lol. Back to my point, I use whatever weapon I want in the raid because it really doesn't matter. If people can't complete the raid without spindle or malice they really suck. This is a bit why I'm not going to be looking forward to RoI raid. People are going to say you can only join if you have spindle, malice, or jellyhorn. I almost wish those weapons didn't exist since they make pve too easy. I will be using my sleeper stimulant in the new raid and I dare someone to say something.

작성자: l3LACKxW1D0W 7/30/2016 5:33:29 AM100% Agree you don't need a certain weapon for a certain encounter. Since my first run through the vault of glass I've been an avid supporter of the "player, not the gun." As long as you can hold your own, use whatever class, skills, techniques, and weapons you want. My philosophy still holds true today. I run the vault and Crota's end with new and old players (new players are a bit harder to find recently though...). I believe in helping your fireteam members, but not in holding their hands. Edit: For clarification on the not holding peoples hands... I'm mainly talking about when those were relevant. If you can't hold your own in Vault Normal Mode, at 330 light... you need professional help. I'm not saying everyone should be able to solo it, but you shouldn't be constantly dieing and bringing down your team at such over-powered stats.
