The only propose of a gun is to kill. That is what it was designed to do. that is what people use them to do. Why should you have the right to kill someone? What gives you right decide when someone lives and when someone dies? People can protect themselves without guns. There are non lethal ways of neutralizing and attacker. IE : tasers and pepper spray.
After the Australian gun ban gun related felonies dropped and so did overall crime rate after and small spike. Does Australia violate human rights and oppress its people?
no
Guns do not kill people but any one with a gun can. We cannot remove crazy people but we can get rid of guns. Although background check do help they are not always done properly or at all.
I am open to have an intelligent conversation but please stay respectfully of other peoples opinions.

4 답변So we should punish EVERYONE because some thugs and other crazy assholes have killed people with most likely unregistered fire arms? A lot of people use weapons for hunting or for self defense against wild animals out in the country. Your logic is flawed.

4 답변Still waiting on an answer
OK I'm not even going argue how we feel about guns because it won't go anywhere, but let me ask you this, guns get banned, then what? For starters who is going to take the guns? Are you anti-gun gun folks gonna go door to door attempting to take people's guns, I have advice for you, bring your own body bag. Or are you going to make the Military and police do it for you? How many M&P do you think would be on the government's side? I can guarantee the majority would back the people. Even if the small number of M&P that supported the government actually attempted to take guns away, you know how many people would die? There are nearly 100 million law abiding gun owners here, and most of them will fight for their right. Repealing the 2nd Amendment or banning guns would cause a lot of death, and spark some sort of revolution. You know what, try it, please. This country needs a revolution
People used to go out and lynch people with rope and whip people to death, hell Jason Bourne beats the shit out of people with magazines and cups. Now I know that's a movie but it is possible. In the words of George carline, you could beat a man to death with the New York Times if you tried hard enough

Personally, I believe people should be allowed to carry weapons. First, let me state I'm Canadian so I may not know a ton about guns, but personally, I believe as much as there are non lethal ways to go about it, sometimes force must be used in the form of a lethal weapon. If someone has the intent to harm/kill me I have the right to harm/kill them, stated by the law of equal force (don't remember if that's the exact name) whic says you have the right to use the same amount of force that someone else uses against you. Therefore if they try to take my own life, which is a right, they forfeit their own right to life. But personally I think it'd be scarier to see someone carrying a sword around. It's fairly easy to point and shoot a gun down an alleyway with little experience (or so I believe) but if someone got a sword on their hip you can bet their -blam!-ing confident with it

About 11,000 die every year from heroine overdoses. Its 100% illegal yet has as many deaths as guns. Even if guns were 100% illegal you cannot guarantee that they are kept out of the country when you have weak and open borders. Most of the heroine comes from Mexico, so to ensure the ban is effective you would have to shut down the border. But wait you cant because thats considered "racist." About 35,000-55,000 die in car accidents every year over the past decade. This number fluctuates but seems to be on a downward trend. That means that gun deaths are 1/3 to 1/5 of the deaths that cars cause. About 60,000-100,000 die from medical complications from doctors and drugs both illegal and legal (this includes heroine.) This is considered the #1 killer in the United States and shows that you are several times more likely to die from a pill or a doctor than from a firearm. Despite the fact that guns kill far less than cars or the medical industry you people still focus on guns like it is this huge "epidemic". Why not ban cars and crack down on pharmaceutical companies and illegal drugs? If those numbers were decreased even 50% you would save 5-7 times more people than if all firearms magically disappeared from the country and were made illegal. But we know even if something is 100% illegal then it still wont go away completely as heroine still kills thousands, that means even more are using it. Now lets look at how small firearm deaths really are compared to other nations. Brazil has roughly 17 million firearms and America has anywhere from 280-310 million (number fluctuates often but still largest amount in the world.) Yet despite having about 5% of our firearms Brazil has roughly 50,000 firearm deaths per year which is 5 times more than the US... Lets take a more extreme country where guns are 100% banned and they have less than 1 million in circulation, Venezuela. They are the #1 country for firearm related deaths at 65,000 a year yet their socialist policies, gun bans, and the small supply of firearms doesn't do anything to decrease their numbers... You can do the math on how small of a percentage the deaths are in America compared to the amount of firearms. Yet ask yourself how many doctors are there compared to how many are killed by mistakes or complications by those doctors each year (about 1/3 of the 60,000-100,000 number) and tell me that doctors are not more deadly than firearms. Firearms are protected to ensure that the people have the ability to protect themselves, their rights, and to prevent government tyranny. If you truly cared about "saving lives" you would focus on the largest causes of death first. But no that is not the goal, the goal is to weaken and disarm the American populace. Also remember that your cars and drugs are not a right and can be taken from you at any point and if you truly cared for life you would welcome the seizing of tools that cause death.

작성자: RynoTheTurtle 8/3/2016 7:24:53 AMI'm a Republican. I stand for someone's rights as long as they don't endanger anyone besides yourself. You act stupidity upon yourself. If you want to own a gun then fine. Just don't point it at me or anyone else. That's the issue with this whole debate though. You can't tell a psychotic maniac or someone who has a few loose screws to not point it at you. It would be like telling a child to stop screaming in public because you won't give them a cookie. They are going to point it at you and they are probably going to shoot it. What for? Just to see what your brains look like before they blow their own brains out. This is 90% of most mass shootings end. Justice is never served. You might as well take out our judicial system cause it isnt working. Someone's in jail longer for the possession of marijuana than a rapist. Tell me how that's fair. Bad people are always going to ruin it for the good people. Guns are materialistic objects that someone can go purchase at a gun store and do two things with it. Let it sit and collect dust or shoot at something. Whether it's a humanoid paper target with point system with the highest points at the chest, or the real deal, that's your choice.

So if guns are banned, that means good people don't have anything to protect themselves. Law abiding citizens have no guns. That means people that say "screw the law" will get a gun, and walk through a neighborhood and see it as a wal mart shopping spree.

We are a short life spanned, stupid species struggling for life on a tiny beautiful blue blob in the universe. We are animals, don't forget that. TBH, anyone dying isn't a huge deal. Even the entire species of humanity dying out isn't a big deal. Imagine if we all went extinct. Would be something
People can protect themselves without guns.
How so?

11 답변"Let's remove fire arms so we can trade gun deaths with knife deaths! Progress!" Hooray for fascism! The US had a 12.408m total arrests last year out of a population of 340m, both violent and nonviolent. https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/persons-arrested/persons-arrested That's a general crime rate, both violent and not, of 3,35% 3,346 per 100k (per capita) The UK had a violent crime rate of 10.625, after a 23% rise 10,560 per 100k (per capita) for just violent crime http://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/bulletins/crimeinenglandandwales/2015-07-16 In short: the US has less crimes in proportion to its population than the UK has for just violent crime

Criminals will get guns anyways. If you tell rapists they're no longer allowed to -blam!-, will they stop? The idea works on paper, but in reality, not allowing criminals to have guns won't stop them from acquiring them. Repealing the 2nd Amendment would only strip citizens of another means of defense against mass shooters and other criminals.

2 답변Really. -blam!-ing really? Banning something does not mean people are not going to try to get it. Heroin is illegal, but people are still using. Repealing the second ammendment will not help anything. It'll just make it so people being attacked will not be able to defend themselves effectively. Do you honestly think that Tazers and pepper spray are going to really stop someone who is determined to cause harm to somebody? You fascist, no-nipple biatch. In all seriousness, -blam!- off. "Wait, who the hell are you? Get away from me, you mother- Aw, shit. Ya know, I really wish that those Democrats didn't take my gun. Now I can't defend myself." OPEN YOUR EYES.
