No.
It would be too strong and you'd just end up with players spamming knives with the precision kill perk.
It's never been a one hit kill to my knowledge (Exception: burn plus very weak armour).
Verisimilitude isn't an issue as guardians wear helmets. A thrown steel knife won't penetrate a medieval helmet never mind a sci fi one.
Hi. I'm a Hunter, but I voted no. Throwing Knives aren't that hard to master once you learn their speed/arc.
With precision hits not being too difficult, adding the second knife and getting it back after precisions, you'll be incredibly overpowered.
I dont really play as a hunter but honestly if youre skilled enough to nail someone in the head by throwing a knife I think you deserve the kill. I get the whole "infinite knife" thing but is anyone really THAT accurate that they'l get a headshot every time? Probably not so just give em the kill. I mean titans get health regen on hammer kills despite it being a one hit kill soooo screw it? Yeah some things may be a little over powered but there's always a way to counteract it if you know how to play your class properly. Plus if you get killed chances are it's your fault anyway so work on your own skills and you can outplay anyone in any situation. That's just my opinion though. And just to add I play as a stormcaller and there are definitely times i pull of some kills that even I think should have gone the other way, but thats why it's competitive. Play to win and do whatever helps you get more kills to help your team. Like if you can get me in the face from 30 feet away with a knife despite me shooting you then you've earned that kill because clearly i was the one who goofed there somehow. But again, just my opinion.
If a knife directly to the head could kill you in destiny then shouldn't all guns be one shot kill to the head? It only makes sense if the knife was that way.
I main gunslinger on crucible and I do t think a throwing knife to the head should insta-kill because all you need to do is take a little more than half their shield away and bam, insta-kill
