If anyone remembers the leaked story of Destiny before it was reworked, it said something about the Traveler and/or the Speaker being evil, like how it left the fallen for humanity or something.
Anyways, during the Oryx end story mission, I heard him say "I will free you from your traveler's light." Maybe this indicates like shackled by the travellers light, being forced it 'protect' it and mindlessly kill other races.
I honestly don't know. This might just be me stretching the meaning of the dialogue, but if anyone could add onto this with other info or clarification, that'd be stupendous :)
Edit 1: I know what the books of sorrow are

DISCLAIMER: What's in this spoiler might be long, click at your own risk
Oryx (at the time Aurash) lived on a planet called Fundament, a gas giant with pits of broken worlds floating around, with her (yes, he was her once) two sisters, Sathona and Xi Ro. They weren't Hive yet, I'll get to that later. So Hive society has these things called Mothers (which are basically Wizards) that live longer than the 10 year lifespan the pre-Hive live so they can make more pre-Hive. One of these mothers, Taox, thought that the Osmium King (Aurash's continent was the Osmium Court, and the sisters were heir to the throne, as they're dad was the Osmium King) was going mad in his later years. Keep in mind, one pre-hive year could be 10 human years. Taox sent a letter to the rival continent, the Helium Drinkers, for them to attack and kill the King and the daughters, as Taox thought none of them were suitable for kingmanship. After the battle the King lay dead and the daughters fled. But before the battle Aurash went to a place called the Tungsten Monoliths and learned that they were the weakest race on Fundament, and if you don't understand something it will probably kill you. So the sisters fled and found a ship. And Xi Ro thought they could sell it at Kaharn Atoll, the Fundaments Marketplace, and buy mercenaries to take back the Osmium Throne. But instead they used it to dig into the Fundament, in search of an ancient power called the Worms. On their way they met the Leviathan, a Sky (Light) supporter and told them if they agree with the Worms they'll have to kill. He also said the Sky's way is harder but kinder. But they ignored him and met the Worms, and obtained eternal life, except if killed in their throne world (think Crota's End). When they emerged they found out that what their dad was crazy over, the Syzygy (real word!), was real, but with the help of a 53rd moon. Yes, Fundament had 52 moons before. This 53rd moon was the Traveler (sound familiar?). That's what the Worms want, to end all of the Light so only the strong remain. So, they were tasked with the power of the Deep (Darkness) to end the Sky (Light).
Good enough for you?

The reason is Oryx believes that light Is a lie and makes anyone who lives in it weak, less likely to survive hardtimes but that the darkness is pure and only serves one purpose and that's to strengthen those who dwell in it thus survive hardships

작성자: KayOsS882 7/25/2016 6:35:48 PM"I will free you from the travelers light" Remember, your guardian died a long time ago and was brought back to life by your ghost. The light that he bestowed on you is what brought you to life. I think Oryx wants you dead so in order to do that, he must vanquish the light that is keeping you alive.

15 답변Here's the thing, as far an Oryx is concerned, he is the good guy. He truly believes what he does is right, and what we do is wrong. It's part of what makes him a compelling villain. He's the protagonist of his own story. Here's the thing though, what he believes is right is genocide. He thinks the perfect universe lies is cutting away everything he perceives as weakness until only the "final, perfect shape" remains. He has spent the last several billion years wiping out every civilization in existence in an effort to cleanse the universe. His ultimate goal is the extinction of all life until only the Darkness itself remains. So no, we're not the bad guy. In fact, every fight we've had except maybe the Cabal is an act of self-defense. 5 답변Light is white, darkness is black. You can't write black ink on black paper, and that's why oryx is bad.

6 답변In a way we all are bad by how oryx and his sisters father was taken and also the eliksni are also bad but also the traveler is the worst cause it was the traveler that left the fallen in there time doubt and so that is why they came to earth after getting most of there species killed but they found the great machine out of nowhere and so that why they killed most of the humans so thats why we are all bad but oryx is the least worst cause he was just avenging his sons death

1 답변The point is that its all grey. Nothing is black and white, good and evil, that shits for the comics. Even the 'bad guys' have motivations for what they do sometimes those motivations are for good.

5 답변No. First that story is dead and gone. They're not using it. Second, the hive wants death and destruction, we want to protect life. So, no.

작성자: cynicalpsycho 7/24/2016 8:27:38 PMNo, the traveler was the bad guy with the speaker in a big plot twist (as the black garden was originally the interior of a giant sphere aka the traveler) but when all the shit went down at bungo/activi$ion they changed or straight up scraped the story and are to this day masking it up as they go along with the remnants of the original story via cut content through DLC that you technically only rent as it is made redundant with the next consecutive DLC. Why they would limit their own content?.. I truly have no idea...
