Balanced elemental primaries

I was thinking today on how we could have this and have it not break the game and I came up with an idea. All/most legendaries should have a choice between kinetic or elemental damage but if elemental damage is selected the weapon is now equipped in the secondary slot with half the ammo it would have in primary. This would make you choose between having 2 primaries or having a high damage weapon like a sniper equipped. This could also help with the sniper problem in pvp if more people decided to equip 2 primaries. Thoughts?

  • Idk I feel bungies legendary guns should all have elemental damage because why not? Its fun and so what if it melts wizards and other enemies with shields? They are an annoying as hell anyways. I feel this game should offer more elemental variety and maybe bungie should create 3 new elements so there would be even more variety on pve. Elemental weapons do not give a person any advantage in pvp so why would it matter?

    • First question. Why were elemental primaries removed? It wasn't for balance reasons. It was because there was a limited amount of elemental primaries and people used them to have an edge during a burn in nightfall and POE. Since it gave a clear advantage to the player and didn't have limited ammo Bungie removed them saying it was to increase the variety of weapons people would use. They had two choices. A. Remove them B. Make all primaries elemental. They chose A because it was easier, faster, and took away the players advantage.

      • Howabout a Tlaloc-Susanoo-like proc? So you need full super to give the weapon an element, and the element is dependent on what your class's element is.

        • Y don't we just get things that we can pop like the rep boosters that work for X amount of time before they wear off. You could have solar, arc, and void and pop them for ur primary (whatever is ur favorite) before a nightfall or something and then you could have a primary w/ burn for 20 minutes or something

          • I agree with elemental primaries, but I don't agree with a primary in the secondary slot

          • I'd like the elemental primaries to be all the legendary primaries as well, perhaps with a random burn though like with the perks. Switching to a seperate slot on an already muddled system that makes you pause the game essentially in order to switch weapons seems like a step in the wrong direction though. But any idea to bring more fun into the weapons is welcome in my opinion.
