So, over the weekend I did something I've never done before. I went to LFG for trials partners. (Wait, it gets better) I sent multiple invites and had countless people join my party to chat and ask if they wanted to do some trials. Most of them had came in asking my ELO. Now, I understand ELO is a pretty good way to gauge a players skill in Destiny. As well as KD. I don't have the best ELO because I don't always play with the best players that 9-0 every weekend. I usually try to help my friends. My ACTUAL friends. They're not elitists. They're not the best. Hell, I'M not the best, but I can 9-0 every weekend with the right team.
Long story short, these elitist joined my party and quickly took to DTR and trials report. (I can't blame them). But all of them said I WASN'T good enough. Yeah, it isn't the best thing to hear, but I know I'm good enough for smooth 9-0 runs. I used to help people to the light house every weekend. (I don't anymore, work gets in the way of trials help). After about 20 people saying I'm sh*t at the game I finally found someone. Lower stats than me, lower ELO. But I didn't care, I could help this guy out, right? Then we had a third that had the same mind set. He was a pretty good player. Up to par on stats with me. Wanna know what's funny? Last weekend, on Widows Court, was one of the fastest 9-0 cards I've ever played. With 2 guy from LFG that had decent stats.
Elitists. I have one thing to say to you. Give people a chance. I'm not upset I was turned down. Not one bit. I'm disappointed in you. There are people like me that help the little people to the light house, which means we might have lower ELO than you. But I'll take a guy that helps the community at the sacrifice of his numbers than the guy who turns everyone down because they don't have big numbers. Maybe you can also help the lighthouse virgins if you're that good.
Thanks for reading guys!
Edit: Thank you everyone for your opinions on this. Anyone can do it. Anyone can go to the lighthouse. You just gotta put the effort forth. Btw, we are trending! Thanks to being trending because of all of you, lighthouse virgins see this post first and hopefully that means that they can match up with some of you better players and finally go flawless! You guys are awesome! Thank you!

작성자: Reclaimer 7/16/2016 12:16:07 AMDestiny is neither a competitive or skill oriented first person shooter. Don't know how or why anyone can take it seriously. Especially all those degenerates with bad attitudes in the "sweaty community". What an asinine moniker.

I don't play Trials anymore, the guys in there are so try hard its ridiculous. Not to mention, since there are no elemental primaries in there I don't want anything to do with it. Don't care if you get a strong weapon from it, eventually it will be nerfed anyways.

I gave up on Trials because I can never find a team to play with. Most people I come across don't want to help "scrubs" like me. It's good that there are still good players willing to help other players in the community. Props to you

Not the best player but have gone flawless multiple times. Good for you for helping the little people out, we need more people like you in the community but it seems all the nice people have left and the elitists stayed

1 답변I've gone there on my my own merit with friends more than once. ELO shit is so dumb. I don even know what that stands for. I always help people, especially if they suck. Last week I tried to LFG Oryx challenge and when I joined the party chat was immediately asked if I was 335 or not. I said "yeah but I drop to 333 when I equip my ToM," and some aggro dude wanted to boot me. I told him to relax and they let me stay. We get to the totems and that same guy keeps screwing up and getting confused when we wipe. I ask him if he's done it before and if we need to pause to explain it. I even told him nobody would be mad, it's not a big deal. He didn't say anything and on the next wipe he quit without a word.

1 답변I mainly do carries with my friends. We never run 3deep, i don't know it's not my style anymore. I don't blame anyone for having bad stats. I have the worst stats ever and people respect me for the skill and play-style. And not for Stats. Stats say nothing, if you have a bad week your elo can drop faster than you think. And my KD is ruined because in year 1 i was bad in pvp. Now i can carry people. Stats say NOTHING about the actual player tbh. I don't even know how you can brag about stats. I rekt every guy that said he can beat me by stats. Well... they got sh^t on xD

i just hope that they dont remove the scarab emblem or at least add it to the random drop pool from anytime if they add a new one... i have all flawless emblems (mostly carried through about half of the rounds(-blam!-ing snipers)) so i am no lighthouse virgin, im just a scarab virgin, my friends that got my flawless both times in TTK already had scarab and didn't want to go through the "pain" of playing against "sweats" and to be honest, we tried it once and we hated it... i have essentially every collectible item available except the scarab because: 1. Im not very good at PvP 2. My friends are good enough to go flawless and get scarab TOGETHER but add me into the mix and it becomes A LOT harder. 3. LFG for trials never goes well as i cant demand high stats as my stats are terrible and the people i find that will do it with me are worse than me most of the time.... (not joking)

ELO has no place in Destiny. It started out in Chess, which is always 1v1. So if you beat that person, it was truly you who did it, thus the scoring made sense. But the 3v3 of Trials renders this inaccurate. Plus, the ELO only tracks TTK progress. So all the matches you won in Year 1? Oh, those don't matter. I understand why Year 1 matches aren't included, and furthers my opinion that ELO should not be connected with Destiny.

It is not the fault of elitists to desire consistent Guardians. It can get aggravating when playing with inexperienced, less-knowledgeable and less adaptable partners in Trials. I am not saying that this is the case with you. I'm saying that the real culprit are elitists egos.

The elitists are one of the reasons I don't play Trials anymore. Oh, and all the sweaties. Only reason I ever played Trials was for a chance at max-light gear, but I never made it to the lighthouse because I could hardly ever find good teammates. Now there is Challenge, so I don't have to bother with Trials anymore. Besides, all the camping snipers ruin the fun.
