Well, jokes on YOU elitists.
So, over the weekend I did something I've never done before. I went to LFG for trials partners. (Wait, it gets better) I sent multiple invites and had countless people join my party to chat and ask if they wanted to do some trials. Most of them had came in asking my ELO. Now, I understand ELO is a pretty good way to gauge a players skill in Destiny. As well as KD. I don't have the best ELO because I don't always play with the best players that 9-0 every weekend. I usually try to help my friends. My ACTUAL friends. They're not elitists. They're not the best. Hell, I'M not the best, but I can 9-0 every weekend with the right team.
Long story short, these elitist joined my party and quickly took to DTR and trials report. (I can't blame them). But all of them said I WASN'T good enough. Yeah, it isn't the best thing to hear, but I know I'm good enough for smooth 9-0 runs. I used to help people to the light house every weekend. (I don't anymore, work gets in the way of trials help). After about 20 people saying I'm sh*t at the game I finally found someone. Lower stats than me, lower ELO. But I didn't care, I could help this guy out, right? Then we had a third that had the same mind set. He was a pretty good player. Up to par on stats with me. Wanna know what's funny? Last weekend, on Widows Court, was one of the fastest 9-0 cards I've ever played. With 2 guy from LFG that had decent stats.
Elitists. I have one thing to say to you. Give people a chance. I'm not upset I was turned down. Not one bit. I'm disappointed in you. There are people like me that help the little people to the light house, which means we might have lower ELO than you. But I'll take a guy that helps the community at the sacrifice of his numbers than the guy who turns everyone down because they don't have big numbers. Maybe you can also help the lighthouse virgins if you're that good.

Edit: Thank you everyone for your opinions on this. Anyone can do it. Anyone can go to the lighthouse. You just gotta put the effort forth. Btw, we are trending! Thanks to being trending because of all of you, lighthouse virgins see this post first and hopefully that means that they can match up with some of you better players and finally go flawless! 작성자: LiamCDM 7/18/2016 4:28:02 AMContrary to popular belief, picking teammates based on ELO and K/D isn't about about having a lack of confidence in one's own skills, it's about wanting to have some smooth Trials runs, that don't require the challenge of carrying 1 or 2 idiots to the Lighthouse. It's about opposition to unnecessary disadvantages. Personally, I could single carry if I wanted to, but I won't, because the practice of endgame carrying, sickens me. I am perfectly confident in my skills, I simply believe there's no reason to pick a lesser skilled player, when I am in the presence of plenty of skilled ones, that actually will carry their own weight.

Must have y2 thorn, must have scarab, must be oxbridge graduate in Destiny pvp. Message me for invite. I WILL LOOK AT STATS cuz I got nothing better to do in life.

12 답변Blame Bungie for encouraging this toxic community. It gives me flashbacks to League. ELO should be removed completely and people whould only be able to reach the Lighthouse once per character. Problem solved (somewhat). This naturally comes with hyper-competitive PvP so it'll always be there, I'm just disappointed in Bungie for basically encouraging it. I also feel like they're trying to push for Destiny to eventually become a competitive eSports game like CoD and Halo, hence why all the stupid-ass balances etc.

Destiny is not like most shooters. In CoD or Halo, you rely mainly on your gun skills, map awareness and grenade placement. Most people who play destiny, started with these games. (Notice i said most people) Destiny is more than just a shooter. There are more aspects to this game than just the skills listed above. Therefore, most peoples k/d will suffer when starting this game until they learn the other nuances. It can be tough to come back from that initial struggle. I guess what im saying is, k/d and elo can be very misleading. Just to clarify, i realize that armor abilities and other tactics have been added to CoD and Halo in recent editions. With the exception of Halo reach (which i feel was the first ever beta for destiny) most of these new games were released close enough to the launch of destiny, that they really had no bearing on the transition to destiny's type of shooter. Most of us still had to struggle in crucible until we got the hang of when to use that super, where to place that grenade with its unique detonation or when to test that snipers aim assist!

When raid group finding took its toll on the "casual" players. If you want "equality" play better nothing shows or determines your chances of success than your previous/overall stats. It's not that you couldn't do it its that it would be smoother with a person of a higher caliber. Nothing is going to change the fact your not as good as others that doesn't make us "elitists" that just makes us better (statistically speaking).

3 답변Apparently I'm a "unicorn" because I have a higher kd than elo. Id like to think I'm very good a this game people call competitive but I never ask for a certain elo or kd. I just play to play a game I like

There is no easier way to continue padding their stats than by strictly playing a crucible playlist that does not match you up in accordance to skill👏

3 답변2 be honest that Elo shit gets old either help people willing 2 play or be a bitch other people want 2 play trials but these elitist assholes make it impossible because they think there God I bet if they were 2 dumb down there gear an use guns there not use 2 they would realize there not immortal that's why I made a challenge thread 2 people of this nature

Haven't done trials yet, I been sternly against playing it until I had to play Elimination for MoT after playing a few games of it I think I like it. Once I get accustomed to 3v3 scenarios I might go for the big shindig.

Wow that awesome. I've tried trials once, its definitely fun but gotta get my weight up for it most of my friends don't have the patience for it so I'll eventually get around to it lol practice makes perfect right. Thanks

Retired guardian here reminiscing in the past while taking a shit in the toilet and bored outta my mind so took to the destiny forums for some entertainment, can't say i missed much these past couple of months, still a toxic community but good players turning out every once in a while, if i wasn't retired op i'd gladly played trials with you. Keep spreading the positivity
