1. Acquiring the materials is a stupid grind.
- I get it, you're trying to stretch out the content but damn guys. I shouldn’t have to farm 150-250 materials to get 10 materials I need to move on. This was no fun and kinda killed the experience for me. Which is why I waited so long to complete it.
> if you do this again fix the system so I get a mat every 2-3 nodes.
2. Killing the warden and dark blade within 30 seconds.
- holy shit! This is broken! How come the quest will recognize I killed the warden but doesn't recognize I killed the dark blade in the same instance. So now I have to play the whole goddamn thing twice, or 3 times, just to finish the quest = dumb
> don't put a time limit on when I have to kill the boss, just let me kill him and move the fack on.
3. Wait for arms day materials?
- seriously?! WTF did I collect all of these materials for
> no more, goddamn guys you know this shit is stupid
4. No more crazy long quest lines
- I love long quests, I liked the SS quest, the BG quest, but these sword quests are dumb.
> make it more enjoyable for us, less than a grind and more of an adventure.
==== tequila fueled rant over, feedback follow ups below ====
Edit 1:
Wow, thanks everyone for your responses and sharing your thoughts, we were on the Trending page for a couple days, pretty rad. Time for some follow ups:
Gathering Materials:
- Some of you disagreed that this was a chore, you actually enjoyed it. I don't mind farming materials, but getting the special materials needed shouldn't be so spread out. Again, every 2-3 nodes should drop what you're looking for.
Are they worth it?
- Yes, if you havent tried to get one yet, I recommend that you do. If you only have 1 definitely go out and get the other 2. They are very fun to use and very powerful. Also, each one has its own special perks and attributes, which makes each one feel unique.
Long quest lines:
- I also love longer quest lines. I thought the SS and BG quest lines were fantastic and really enjoyed that it felt like I was working towards something. However, my complaint is filling quests with "busy work" to make them feel more in depth than they actually are. I think some of the steps in the sword quests could be evaluated and improved for future quests. I.E. no more busy work - make the steps fun.
Keep the feedback coming!

1 답변I remember grinding for hours in year one without a ghost, looking for helium just to upgrade a piece of armor. The sword grind is nothing
-
2 답변The sword quests weren't intended to be blown through in 1 session. They were intended as a long term quest to work towards bit by bit. Just because we all rushed through and it was too long, it doesnt make it bad.
-
Reforging the sword is overly grindy. What should have been fun was a chore, and I don't blame any Guardian for not running the sword quest. Bungie should have done better, and if the Gjallarhorn quest has the same kind of material grind, then Bungie will have learned nothing.

작성자: The Chicago Way 7/14/2016 1:08:05 PMNumber 1 is exactly why I haven't finished the exotic sword quest 8 months later. Reminds me too much of year 1 farming materials to upgrade your armor and gear, my least favorite part of the game.

The only part of the quest that I disliked (really, really disliked) was the material gathering - especially for the Dark-Drinker.. Wasn't a fan of doing patrols on Mars and the hunt for the Relic Crystal just made it 10x times worst.. Even doing the quest on my Hunter (Nightstalker - with keen scout) I truly felt sorry for anyone running either a Titan or Warlock trying to get those materials..

2 답변Try darkdrinker with defender titan. Made me leave the game for at least a month. You need 1000 ability kills. With grenades mostly. Its exhaustingly boring, monotonous, and stupid. There couldve been 10 smaller steps. But not with bungie.

3 답변that's the reason i went just for 1 and not all 3 raze lighter that took long enough material wise and finding the same people to do the strike with took forever since a lot of people already done it and as i learned people hardly help in destiny

I just finished the final sword I needed last night and did the strike with randoms from the recruitment section. The one guy needed void and arc and we managed to do both in one strike. I don't mind the quest, it should be a challenge. Just another "hand me everything easily" post...."it's too hard"...."I don't want to wait"...."nerf this, nerf that"....damn man.
1. Acquiring the materials is a stupid grind.
Yes, but I don't agree with your reason why. For me it was the random drops that were annoying, I could never get a proper handle on the scale of the task, some people I know did it in 45 minutes, some people it took more like 8 hours. Solution - specify a number of materials required and remove the RNG nature. MAYBE throw in RNG drops of a special material that can be broken down into larger drops, but don't force us to rely on RNG.
2. Killing the warden and dark blade within 30 seconds.
I genuinely didn't have a problem with this.
3. Wait for arms day materials?
The wait was irritating, but I wasn't pressed for time. It prevented players from speed questing. Maybe just change to 24hours, or daily reset to force a pause but not suck up whole weeks.
4. No more crazy long quest lines
I love long quests. When the reward is powerful enough (and swords certainly are) then a long quest line is very enjoyable. I especially loved that using a legendary sword was the best way to do the quest. If the material gathering was tweaked I think it would be a phenomenal quest rather than just a good one.

Did all the swords at once. Materials took the longest...and that was with doing the special strike with randoms. But I did all this about 2 days ahead of armsday so that wait wasnt horrible.2 days 3 exotic swords....it was nice quest.

4 답변If you're doing these on a hunter, use Keen Scout for the material gathering. Otherwise, use a ghost shell that will help locate the required material. For the crucible kills, try Inferno. There is no radar tracker, so sneaking up on players from behind for hilt kills is pretty easy.

1 답변My favourite one is the two seperate times you have to wait for Armsday during the First Curse quest.

I was so luck when I had to farm relic iron for Dark-Drinker. I had already done the ability kills and had 7/10 for the materials required. I was going back down to Patrol, spawned in and got the 3 materials that I needed from the first 3 relic shards that I found.
