Who let the unicorns in?
After getting wrecked in the crucible in year one (didn't play it much/hated using thorn) to the point that my K/D was ruined, I decided around the time of the April update to git gud.
I have brought my K/D up from a .83, and today finally hit a 1.00
It's taken a long time to do. Hours and hours in the crucible. I had 4 months to fix over a years worth of damage. So many clutch plays, kill streaks, multi kills. And i finally did it.
[spoiler]I know that a lot of people won't care, or will bash me and say that I'm bad. It just feels good to finally have a positive K/D [/spoiler]

I was a scrub from vanilla till end TDB, I was a god in HOW(And no, not because tlw or thorn, just some god rolled underated weapons), and now I am pretty much average. Congrats nonetheless!

I've been on a similar quest to get my first character, my Titan, to a respectable k/d of about 1.11, it took time to get him to 1.05 since he was the one I learned how to play Crucible on. Then I played with my Warlock and Hunter that have much better k/d's because I had learned how to play. I decided my Titan really needs to be double digits over 1.00 to be at least somewhat respectable compared to my other 2 characters. So I'm now on the verge of 1.09 k/d with 19,945 kills versus 18,460 deaths (1.0804). 80 kills/deaths for 1.09 and only 450 more kills/deaths to hit 1.11 k/d.

Congrats. I did something similar. My Y1 Warlock was a 0.75 for the longest time because I didn't care. I sat way back from the TV, used whatever gun I felt like, didn't really pick any perks differently than my PvE setup, etc. Eventually I turned to caring about PvP since PvE was tiresome. It took for-e-ver to bring my KD up on that character. I got it to just under 1.0, I think it's like 0.97.

I've still got a long way to go but pulled my KD from 0.90 to 1.07 in the last 2 months averaging about 1.3 in that time. Since then I've been playing more players with real good movement and vertical awareness. That's the next thing I really need to work on.
